So how did they explain Clarks mom and dad being at Superman's funneral and Clark not being around. As I recall, in the comics, they were upset that they couldn't attend the public funneral and Matrix (aka the original post Crisis Supergirl/Lana Lang from a dead alternet Earth) took on Clark's form for a bit.

@LibraGamesUnlimited no wait the Matrix stuff was when he banished himself to space, sorry. Everyone assumed that Clark was among the hundreds who were missing after the fight and when he came back he pretended to have been trapped in rubble at that time. :)

This is more or less how it went down in the comics. Batman didn't show himself at the funeral but he was there. There was a man in the crowd who was going to throw a bomb at one of the visiting dignitaries until he was ambushed by Bruce. Bruce was about to go all Batman on him but decided to let the man go, saying "Metropolis is Superman's town and today I'll play it his way. Today, I'll be merciful." It shows just how much Bruce respected Clark to do that. I'll never forget it.

okay, so arent you guys wondering what clark kent's parents are doing inside the funeral chapel i mean sure they are super man's parents but doesnt that mean that the whole world would know that clark kent is superman for them to be allowed inside as a vip despite the number of other people? @SuperMicklovin That's pretty heartless of batman, to not go to a funeral of his BEST FRIEND who RISKED his life for him, ALWAYS worked with him and enjoyed working with him, and saved him on many occassions. I mean bats' saved supes on many occassions too, but if it were BATMAN who died then SUPES would be at his funeral in less than a heartbeat.

It would certainly be a shame if he really died then and there. Mostly because it would have been the Toyman that did him in. Out of the vast canon of Superman adversaries, ranging from the ancient and all-powerful Darkseid, to the crazed ravager Doomsday, and his mortal arch-enemy, the famed corporate criminal, former President and all around bad-guy, Lex Luthor, it would be some third-tier hack like Toyman that did him in. That'd be like if Calendar Man kill Bats. It would truly suck.

For one, there's a difference between a petty thief and a recurring super-villain. And I'm not saying that we should ignore the less-popular villains, just that the less major ones shouldn't have a major part in a story such as the potential death of Superman. Like I said, there are only a few villains that could possibly pose a threat to Superman's life: Darkseid, Doomsday, Brainiac and Lex Luthor, to name a few. Toyman, in comparison to his competition, doesn't stand a chance at killing him.

Fine, I'll admit that anyone with an ounce of Kryptonite can take on Superman, but who would honestly want to see that? Superman is completely vulnerable in the face of Kryptonite, and if a low-level nemesis like Toyman was the one to take him down, that would be the disappointment of the century.
