  • where do you get all those comic books from

  • NICE!

  • wow. I hope you have a good gun safe to store those in.

  • I love those hulk books. I saw a number 2 on craigslist the other day. I inquired the price and it was 500. I wish I could have bought it. Also I am working on the avenger books. Someday I hope to get those #1 and #2 books. Hopefully mine look as good as yours. But from what I have seen that would be truly expensive. You are one good collector.

  • @TheCapncummings I have more years collecting going for me, just wish i didn't have the age!

  • @captainstrangelife I have been shaving my spare change for a copy of avengers #4. Its been around a year and I have almost $100 saved.........maybe a year or two more unless I find a deal. lol

  • can i have issue 60 =)

  • Your Hulk #1 is beautiful. I am glad to see CGC didn't encapsulate your Hulk #1 with there old inner well system. As I am sure you know CGC encapsulated comics do move around inside there old cases and can cause some damage (shaken comic book syndrome).CGC has changed there inner well system to a PGX style inner well. This inner well is superior and holds the comic without any possible movement. CGC sued PGX over there name. I think PGX should sue CGC over there outright rip off of there case!

  • @Petemarie186 Yes CGC sued over the use of the call letters CGG so they changed it to PGA and were having problems because of the Professional Golf Association ( PGA ) and are finally now PGX. I agree if PGX has a patent on their well, they should sue CGC for infringement, if that's the case.

  • Captain! Love all your videos. Question what kind of bags do you put those nice Silver Age comics in? Is that 2mm Mylar or 4mm Mylar? Again love all your videos...Also what does the wife think about all the collecting man?

  • thats a great collection man, probably the closest Ill ever come to those first six issues. If you get on facebook, search hulk and check out the page that comes up with issue 1 as the thumbnail. its a fan site I just made dedicated to the comic. nice hat too, peace

  • @blackmagicmarkr Hey i will try that.

  • so if number 1 has an overhang - wouldn't that just mean a slight percentage loss in the grading ? say from 8.5 to 8.0 or whatever ? why would they completely refuse to grade it ? i am newer to collecting ... is there some deal with an overhang that implies something that wouldn't be obvious to a newer collector

  • @seanashby65 They told me as a matter of policy they will not grade overhangs.

  • @captainstrangelife - i just googled it - its because -cgc is concerned the book might move inside the slab ,after it has been slabbed and further damage the overhang . Thus making the grading - not right anymore --it doesnt mean the book is off -it just means its not a good candidate for slabbling - actually makes sense

  • @seanashby65 If that's the case i will just press the overhang out since there is really no way to detect pressing

  • nice i also hav tales to astonish in fine to very fine

  • Thanx very much for your comment, truly appreciate it!

  • Love this video. I envy your collection. I was given a bunch of comics a while back and found i like reading them...and I am 37. Good bathroom reading. I love the ads! Anyway...Ive been bidding and researching the original Hulk first six comics and finally "won" a good looking #5 on ebay last night. Cant wait to get it. So many of these were thrown away. They are rare and like a trip back in time. Again..great video and LOVE the music!

  • Love the books.....wish i could find a hulk #1

  • nice hulk issues! i just picked up hulk#2 The first "green skinned" hulk! love the music too by the way! LOL i am slowly trying to fill in my spidey run as well..and im about 80% there....thanks for all your videos!!

  • @redneckspidey Thanks very much for that!

  • PS: I ran out of space before I could write that ANY information @ all in regards to my question, would be GREATLY, IMMENSELY, HUGELY appreciated. I've thought about the comic in question for decades & have searched for years without luck. It's very nostalgic to me due my reading it @ particularly special time during my childhood. If I just new the name/issue #, maybe I could buy it, or at least get a digital copy. Again, ANY help would be appreciated, more then you could imagine. Thanks!

  • @gjc82071 Sorry i could not find an issue like that. In #226 Tgas was used to no avail and #222 he was gased but escaped. I could not find anything else.

  • @captainstrangelife I appreciated your help. I googled the issues you mentioned & looked at the covers/few pages. My memory & all, we are talking around 30yrs & I only read the comic a few times, but those issues look totally different from what I remember. I think my comic may even have been "glossy" paper. The drawings/Hulk look totally different too. The Rampaging Hulk looks similar, but was B&W. Do you know of any other, different hulk comic books, made in the 70's/early 80's? Thx!

  • Q: I'm not sure how familiar y'all are w/ Hulk comics from the late 1970's, but I've searched my butt off w/out any luck, for a particular Hulk comic I has a a child. I'm not exactly sure but it must have been around '78-80'. In the issue The Hulk was was like 15ft tall & fighting the US army which used sleeping gas to KO him. I remember seeing like 20 soldiers carrying the Hulks sleeping body. I thought it might have been in the short lived "The Rampaging Hulk" series, but it's not. Help?

  • cool collection i so badly want the hulk issue 1

  • Issue 6 for The Hulk looks great! Awe hell, they all look great. Great Kirby artwork.

  • @Burco1 Thanks for the comment and watching

  • @chunkyjeffrey Thanks, i appreciate the comment!

  • they can'y grade it and put in in a cgc because it mite hurt the book

  • Nice Avengers 1! Looks Near mint ++!!

  • @CelestialWoodway More like f-vf but i would love for it to be nm!

  • @captainstrangelife I had a copy but it was raggedy Good-

  • you can do avid abuot your avengers ?

    tainks =)

  • If you send that signed copy to cgc they will grade it down and mark it "name written in ink on cover" they only verify signatures when they are witnessing the item being signed. Maybe you should check first to see if it's worth the money. I think they have a toll free tele.

  • holy sweet a bom and hulk poster. i want to send my hulk 181 in to cgc. the one i got wein to sign. i want all that stuff drooooool.

  • I love the bright colors on that Avengers 1 cover and the Hulk 6-issue series is a must if you can get them all! I`m still workin on it.....haha. Cheers! Awesome comics!

  • @danElarusso Yes, I love all those bright colors they used durung the silver age too! These days the coloring in comics seems to be so damm dark all the time.

  • @captainstrangelife true, grim and gritty`s become the norm...
