Really? I think that it's Guiteau that shines in this performance. Czolgosz puts forth a lovely voice and character too. Moore had me cackling and she's got such a lovely voice. It's Booth that I'm not crazy about. He lacks a certain...authority. He's talented, but I just don't think he could convince me to shoot a president.
Bravo to Czolgosz and Booth, agree that it's unfortunate Guitea is not being played here by a tenor. The harmony sounds a bit off because the tenor is missing. The lady playing Moore is quite funny :) Still very impressed with the actor playing Czolgosz, lovely rich baritone :)
It's very unfortunate that the man playing Guiteau is not a tenor, being that's the vocal range he's written to have. For someone who listens to Assassins like it's her job, that only lead to distraction because of the obvious lack of high notes in the three part harmonies between the men. However, Czolgosz has an extremely gorgeous voice that swoons me expertly, though his timing is strange. Otherwise it was okay.
In fact it does a lot for me. I didn't say that Guiteau wasn't a good actor, which he seems like he's a great actor. However, it can be funny sung correctly as well.
The ensemble sounds great and all three are excellent singers, but I listen to Assassins religiously too and the higher part in the ensemble is missing. I like that part of ensemble cause it's a good balance. But still they did a great job in this.
@BoomChickie Actually I sort of agree with you. When a cast is well casted the people casted should have the requirements of the character such as being a bass or a tenor. It was an error in casting perhaps because once again the man casted as Guiteau should heve been a tenor for that role is meant for a tenor. And yeah..
Thank you so much for posting videos of such an excellent production of this great show! You Czolgosz is consistently incredible beyond words, your Booth is very talented, and your Guiteau and Moore are both hysterical. Again, thanks so much for posting the videos!
Their reaction to Moore is great. And your Czolgosz's voice is amazing!

Pretty harsh, BoomChickie. I guess comedy really doesn't do anything for you?

@BoomChickie "Swoon" isn't a transitive verb. Sorry, I read English like it's my job.

This has re-excited me - what a great performance from all the actors. Can I hire the director??

Does anyone have an Mp3 version of the Gun Song? I love it so much! I drove my friend crazy singing it today.
