These words are very true- they probably deleted this scene becuase people would equate it to the war in Iraq. I'd say the first Rambo was the best one, since there was more to it than just mindless action. The next two were just violent fantasies, but the latest one was a good movie.
the "what is" shouldnt of been deleted from the movie, it tells truth and makes rambo, a very disturbed man, speak whats on his mind and opens him up as a character so we can see what he is thinking
well i guess showing a former military industrial complex icon and telling the truth about wars right in your face isn't allowed in the united states of propaganda nowaday. big Kudos to sly tho.
rambo isn't a soldier, he's warrior. what he say is true, killing to protect yours is natural, it's human nature. but doing it making wars to steal ressources, that's being worst than an animal.
Old men start it, young men fight it, nobody wins, everyone in the middle dies, and nobody tells, the truth. Amen
Maybe for our next war instead of sending our soldiers we should just send the politicians. At least they wouldn't be missed. Instead of young men like my best friend in middle and high school who was like a brother and he died for what?
Mistake leaving this out in my view. He jumps from say definitely no to saying yes, the shift would have been more poignant had this scene been included.
Got to tell you that Stallone really dropped the ball by not having this scene in the theatrical cut. This is a great scene with some fantastic dialogue (yes Sly can write some great stuff. He isn't the stereotype he is believed to be) This sceneshould have been seen by everyone, not just those buying a Extended Cut DVD/Blu-ray. Just my 2 cents.
what he says it's so true people give their lifes to protect and to serve to their country and what do they get in reward ? NOTHING a pat in the back well done bla bla bla who wins in a war ? NO ONE and if you come back from war with your body complete you're lucky
@alaindiazaran how true is that... I ran into a guy that was in Iraq... I gave him $2.00 so he could catch a lightrail.. he started talking to me and I could see he was "shattered." Shattered by what he had been thru and for what? there is nothing that the war in Iraq as far as an outcome was positive strategically or tactically for the U.S..... what a joke..
those bible thumpers were stupid going in there without weapons but i believe in god i mean how the hell do you think the world was created ? there has to be a higher power something divine "something can not come from nothing" ! remember that
@leopoldvs from himself he is the ultimate power but you can't question him because am umm he...
one can go crazy thinking about this lol sorry the answer is unknown hehehe but i prefer to believe in god because you're not sure if he exists and if you're wrong you go to hell believing in god gives nothing to loose
but not believing in god gives all to loose so which do you think is better ?
@alaindiazaran I think is better believe in something that motivates you to keep going and not surrender or as Rambo said: "Dying for something is better that living for nothing!" YEAH!
No, actually it's not a shame that it was deleted because that's the point of Rambo movies. The movie would get closer to be a better movie but far from being realistic.Rambo never talks that much and that's the point! Men like him, that's been through shit will never want to talk too much because he is too twisted and affected from the war. It's like when u watch a great movie and in the end credits you expect to tell u "Hey u just watched a great movie".No! That's up to you to decide that!
@s7iily Sly rather than showing you how fucked up is this with talks he shows it by acting, by writing it and producing it in a way to show how Rambo's soul is full of emptiness and pain with the only desire to escape the past and find peace. You're not interviewing Rambo to have him giving detailed opinions about what is.I'm not saying it's bad but isn't better to just watch carefully Sly's acting as Rambo in all the movies to get the messsage by yourself rather than having Rambo say this stuff?
@akra1dernation and you think what you said disproves god. Argue on the premis of ration, not emotion. Think bout how the world came to exist, and how everything exists. the argument u used could only suggest god might not care, but having one of gods properties be"the wise" this shows that maybe god knows something we dont, it could be a lesson for the future
Ask yrself how was the world caused.
if it was caused by the bigbang what caused the big bang and what created that. an infinite being
That's the thing you gotta love about the Rambo movies: they reveal the horrors of war. Everything he said here is absolute 100 percent truth. There is no glory in war, just misery and pain and in the end, we forget what it was we were fighting for because as he said, 'Nobody tells the truth!'
every time ive seen this movie. the same lines are said by rambo, but with more emotion, hes yelling pretty much the whole thing. i cant seem to find that version anywhere. everytime spike tv has this movie on, these scenes are always in the movie. seems odd that they were "deleted scenes"
@guitarmanfender I also remember I saw this for the first time on Star Movies pr HBO may be and I was stunned but later on when I was watching a retelecast it wasn't there.
just thoes few lines makes it a better movie and it tells us that this movie doesnt glorify violence and it gives a better mesage at the end. this is probably going to be on the directors cut thats coming out soon.

They shouldn't have deleted this scene. Rambo tells there not only the truth, but what he has learned in his movies

The Rambo movie I watched had these whole scenes in it but maybe these are similar scenes with different dialogue or something that were deleted.

Rambo vs Chuck Norris: 1-0
You know why?
Cause Chuck Norris is a killing machine.
But Rambo is a sophisticated philosophising killing machine.
