  • Very nice. Good job.

  • what type of speakers were that! love the desighn of your amp!!

  • @SpeakerFreak95 I think those were Pioneer B20's. Got them from Parts Express.

I've since upgraded to a pair of Frazier speakers with tweeters to get better treble response.

  • @Maxxarcade im going to try and get some, lol

  • That is so awesome!

  • could you have a look at my video response? and give a comment ..about what you know about the vintage stuff :) ?

  • Great work...would be much better if you didnt use crystal waters 100% pure love! lol bt all the same

  • tube amps are the best

  • wow i never knew tube amps could put out so much power it looks good sounds good too. i had the same problem with my gainclone with the humming never fixed it tho i lost interest in it lol

  • Generally tube amps will be more powerful than solid state amps, this is a definite thing in guitar amps, in hifi amps, you'll have to get more powerful tubes happening, but still, due to the fact tubes have a fuller sound and such, they'll always prevail.

  • Where do you get this kit? Can you help?

  • This was not a kit, it was my own design. More info will follow when I update the video later.

  • I'm surprised you used Crystal Waters! :o

  • It was one of the CD's that was in my test player. At least it doesn't get muted :-)

  • I hope you can fix the hum. That thing sounds awesome! And is very well done and looks cool with the orange case. "A Genuine Mazzarcade Amp"

  • It actually is looking better now, since I got the right filter caps mounts and relocated some wiring.

Still has a hum but is much quieter. I think I need to shield the transformers and/or use DC filament voltage to get rid of the rest of the hum.

I'll be posting two more videos, then it's on to the next project.

  • well tube amps arth thay emp proof?

  • I just watched this in HD and it sounds AWESOME!!!!!!!

  • Where did you get all the parts? Did you purchase the chassis somewhere or did you have it built?

  • The chassis was bought new at Radio Daze. I had it powder coated at a local shop. I then drilled all the holes in the chassis myself.

Electronic components came from Mouser and Digikey. Knobs, tube sockets, lamp holder, and some other stuff came From Surplus Sales of Nebraska. Output transformers were bought straight from Edcor. Power transformer was bought straight from Antek. There were some other odds and ends that I got at other places too.

  • Sounds like a ground loop or an open ground somewhere. Did you star ground this rig?

I call that a buzz because the 60 cycles are harmonic rich.

  • There is actually multiple problems. I'm working on fixing it now. It will be star grounded (as much as possible) with 14 gauge solid wire when finished.

  • Looking and sounding good! What circuit did you use for the preamp (6SL7) section?

  • I slightly modified a schematic from the back of the RCA RC30 tube manual. It originally called for a 6CG7 I think.

  • Even with the hum, which didn't seem to come through when the music played, it sounded brilliant! It'll definitely be good when it's done!

  • That sounds so good! and you can see how much bass it puts out!

  • How neat its working and sounds good. It is clear a high volume too. You will hear things in the music you have never hear before. Hope you do not have any ground loops. Tube amplifiers are amazing.

  • WOW. About all I can say really.

  • holy crap that sounded good! love to here bad medicine on it when you finish, bon jovi is one the few artist you can play and nor get the video muted

  • I can do that, I have the LP :-)

  • lol awesome!

  • omg did that sound good!!!!!!!

  • Wow. Awesome system! I hope you can totaly get rid of that nasty hum.

  • Very nice looks, good job.

  • Nicely done, that puppy is gonna rock.

  • Congratulations!. I felt that all the way in Illinois :)

  • Very powerful for 40watts! Those tube amps are very efficient!
