  • God is bigger than our judgments about others and we are not the Christian police force.

  • @BeauG92 You said, "Romans is talking about idolatry, sex in temples, NOT homosexuality" Absolutely wrong. No matter how you try to deny it, in Romans ch 1 Paul tells the Christians at Rome why God destroyed all but 8 men and women of the antediluvian world. Your outrageous misinterpretation of God's Word can't obscure His message to all Christians. That being, He (God) destroyed the antediluvians in large part due to their homosexual sins, so don't practice that same sin yourselves.

  • @BeauG92 @BeauG92 Google's Greek dictionary translates "arsenokoite" simply as "homosexual", and "malakos" as "soft".

Strong's Greek dictionary translates "arsenokoites" as "defilers with men". That seems to support Paul's KJV description of the antediluvians' perversion as " men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another", Roman's ch 1 v 27.

On the other hand, "malako" (soft) doesn't seem to apply to anything having to do with homosexuality.

  • Homosexuality goes against the workings of good just the same as a man having sex with a woman only for lust's sake, even if they're married. It goes against the virtue of chastity, which says you shouldn't lust for the flesh, but rather transcend into the spiritual, live a spiritual life with God, to be blessed and advance on the stages of holiness. If one can't live without lusting, at least ask forgiveness and ask help from God against it. Then you have the right mindset, which can save you.

  • Queers aren't born that way. They usually catch the fag virus when "uncle Joe" touches them in the closet when they are 9.

  • @joshspence87 So what about homosexuality that takes place elsewhere in the animal kingdom? Do penguins, dolphins, koalas, primates, emus, box crabs, and a plethora of other animals get "touched by uncle Joe" out there in the woods?

    Or were you simply trolling?

  • @BeauG92 Doesn't matter what you "did", homosexuality is SIN!. You're just like the pharisees, trying to justify yourself.

  • @BeauG92 I really don't want to hear about your filthy, ungodly lifestyle. Jesus said that you are guilty of sin in your heart whether you act it out or not.

  • First 20 seconds answers your question :DDDDD

  • @BeauG92 Yes, it was THIS video that you were mentioning your filthy lifestyle on...

  • to answer the question in the title, yes you can

by initiating the new covenant of grace, jesus fulfills the old covenant of law

therefore, we are not under law, but under grace

    so yes

  • Oh well, wasnt it not the fallen angels who taught how to wear make up, paint the eyes, dress the body, wear jewlery, color their hair, (all unatural things) and yet how many christians do all these things in church and condem others for their misgivings.

  • The word of God also says your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Do you think the Holy Spirit would enter the body of a person that drinks and/or smokes?

  • Ahh*

  • Aghast so drinking and smoking is ok pastor and I'm still saved? Lol the bible says to be separate. Aghast so watching porn is ok because I'm saved by trusting in the Lord right? Lol is he Baptist?

  • Come on... I mean, Coooome on!!!

  • @BeauG92 Hey man look, I'm not attacking you. I have a light for you. First, if you're "born gay" or hormone deficient or w.e, that's not a sin. The Bible speaks against only gay actions. Like gay sex and lusting. Just saying. So you're (if you're gay) not excluded from God's kingdom because of something you can't help. But you can control your urges to have actual intercourse. Repent and believe the Bible! Jesus is coming back soon!

  • @dzpisx Yeah Jesus said if you look upon other with lust you are lost the lust and the sin in the cause of it

  • @Punisher4bmw Yep. Sex outside of marriage and lust is the sin.

If you are attracted to the same sex, you can't help that. But you can abstain from having sex and/or lusting.

  • @Punisher4bmw You said "Yeah, Jesus said if you look upon others with lust you are lost". What He actually said is that if a man looks at a woman and lusts for her he has committed adultery in his heart. BUT Jesus died to take our just penalty for sin onto His own sinless self, and all our sins were paid for by His death on the cross if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord (slavemaster) and believe in our heart that God has raised Him from the dead, Roman's ch 10 vs 9.

  • @minralb your right man until we confess we are saved i guess i hope so but why slavemaster thats just a wrong word your never a slave dude you have free will you can leave Jesus's path/side whenever you want and pay the price yourself thats the other part but your free theoreticaly:D

  • @Punisher4bmw @Punisher4bmw i think when he said slavemaster he translated it from Arabic because in Arabic we call Jesus somthing like that but the world slave in arabic has 2 meanings, the first is slave and the second is loving deeply. So when he said slave mater he actually meant the lord of God's followers and worshipers :)

  • @dzpisx No one is Born Gay dude ... God makes almost everyone perfect .. What happens when a person is born is because of some parents negligence ...

  • @john4short Yeah I know all about that... I was attempting to speak their "language." They believe they are born gay, and saying otherwise would spark up a completely different debate. My point was to explain to him the full concept of the sin of practicing homosexual intercourse.

  • @dzpisx amen dude! Deny the flesh! "For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live," Romans 8:13

  • @dzpisx very well said!

  • @BeauG92 So Romans 1:26-27 is wrong?

  • @dzpisx this does not talk about smoking or drinking it talks about people being turned over to wrong desires more specifically homosexuality

  • @Firestarter30fly I was talking to BeauG92 because he said the Bible doesn't condemn homosexuality. It's like Look, BeauG92, it's not really a big deal. It's a sin. Like lying. Like every other sin.

Also, did you know it's not a sin to be gay? The Bible only specified actions and lust. If you were "born gay" or whatever, and you can't help that you like guys, that's not a sin. God still loves you. But if you masturbate to gay porn, or have gay sex, those are sins. Just repent!

  • @BeauG92 Sorry deviant but every true believer here knows that you're just trying to justify your morally bankrupt behavior by twisting God's word. Romans 1 neither explicitly nor implicitly says anything about temple prostitution, it's about homosexual deviants being given over to their filthy passions.

  • @BeauG92 Sorry deviant but there is ZERO mention about temple prostitution or shrines in Roman 1. The word is not found there.

  • @BeauG92 Listen to the carnal minded deviant telling others to read the bible in context. How about that, now you're regurgitating me. What good little Microsft JACK you are. You're like a parrot, the more times you hear something, you start saying it.

Ha ha ha ha!!! Sorry deviant but the word "temple" is nowhere to found in the ENTIRE book of Romans, Paul is talking about men who substitute women for men, PERIOD.

  • @BeauG92 It like this, you can either put your faith in others who are always trying to sooth their own consciences by misinterpretations or lying about what the Bible says ,or you can humble yourself, trust the Bible , turn to Christ for forgiveness, there is no in between.Remember, you are the only one who will stand before God for your own sins, those other people will be in the same shape as you, they can't help you at all on that day.

  • @BeauG92 Do you realize that many of the laws God gave was not even given to the general population of Jews, but to the priests only?

  • @BeauG92 If I told you that I paint houses for a living without using the word "painter" would you still know I was a painter even if I just told you what I did instead of saying I was a painter? If I told you that I took things that didn't belong to me or told you things that weren't true without giving you the words used to describe people who do those things would you still know what I am called?

  • @BeauG92 Many people hate the God of the Bible and they are still religious, they just make up another god and another Jesus who have no problem with any sins they want to commit, this is idolatry,so being a practicing homosexual with "another god"will just add to your sin, these are not my opinions they come straight from the inspired text.

  • @BeauG92 When the Bible says that it is an abomination for a man to lie with another man as man lies with a woman, it is speaking directly about homosexuality. In Romans it also says that men will receive due judgment in their own bodies for doing this .There is no way you can escape your conscience, turn to Christ and live.

  • @BeauG92 Any sex outside the marriage of one man and one woman,is sin and those who die practicing these things will not be in Heaven.Actually in Romans it says that homosexuality is judgment upon those who knew God but did not give Him glory.Read Romans 1.

  • @BeauG92 Yes,Jesus did hang out with the sinners, but He was always telling them of righteousness and if He hung out with homosexuals He'd tell them that they would be forgiven if they repented, just like every other sinner heard. The Bible makes it clear,no one that has any sex outside of marriage,(between one man and one woman),cannot inherit the Kingdom of Heaven.

  • We feed our bodies with calories, fat, salt, sugar. Fast food, potato chips etc is as toxic as alcohol and cigarets. Who blames a Christian regular guest at a McDonalds restaurant?

  • Comment removed

  • @Darkwolf41 he also says keep a clear mind...no getting tipsy lol. th wine of jesus day was 10 times less potent than todays wine and never n the bible does it say jesus drank wine...never. yes u can b a christian and drink or smoke, we r not perfect at all

  • @BeauG92

Countless places it talks about homosexuality as being a sin. Old and New. Now you can argue with the bible all you want, but you can't change what it says. By the way, it is natural for humans to sin, whatever it is.

    Matthew 18:

"..If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone....If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector."

  • @BeauG92

no. that is the right answer. He gained more respect from me if that is his stance.

    You sir, are wrong.

  • homosexuality is not a sin,its a biological defect : )

  • NO Drinking and Smoking will Kill you! They are not Christ Like!

  • look at this way. all these companies that make money with these substances, they know what they are doing, in few words, they are killing many people that drink or smoke. they know these things are addictive but they dont care. they wash their hands putting those signs that say "this is harming to your health" or something like that. they only care about their money. so if someone is a christian, why is he/she looking for something that harms or kill others?

  • What is the authentic message of Christ for us? Jesus put us here 2000 yrs past since He died on Golgatha since He rose from dead Essentially Im walking away from the complex religious interpretations of Christianity that churches teach, I will not walk away from my personal spirituality & relationship with Christ. I do not want to be associated with Churches that kicks out Homosexuals or preaches fear Not what Jesus intended not Christ like

John P you dont bring in the flock u send them away.

  • @chicraig6421 What kind of church do you like? Just askin'...

  • @dzpisx Not sure what the question-What kind of Church do you like?

I go to Christian Churches, I have 1 fav Church because of the preacher / pastor, but do go to several. Presbyterian (pastor is great as is congregation), Church of Christ, Episcopal, Methodists (female pastor is great), Lutheran. FYI - all accept homosexuals and do not read the Bible as J Piper does. Yes Im gay.

Not sure if that answers your question. I always have problems with all the schisms in Churches, Its 1 Bible.

  • i just watched this joker talk about homosexuality and drawing a line that you cant be christian and gay,but he leaves wiggle room for drinking and smoking wich can defile and break down the health of the body.the bible says "keep your senses about you" and your body is a temple.you cant help if your attracted to the same sex,but you can help filling your lungs with smoke, yet he goes easier on the latter, christians are so FICKLE.

  • @dignerds I agree. On the joker part and elsewhere. I heard him use this text to launch a sermon: "and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord" But he then neglected to mention, not even once, that the passage doesn't end there. A colon follows it, where you then find "looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God." The holiness is a gift, by grace through faith in Christ alone. It's nothing we earn or maintain. Me think he may have Calvinist tendencies.

  • equally as destructive as nicotine or alcohol are demonic doctrines. More lives have been lost through the decietfullness of religion than have been lost as a result of nicotine... the world is at war and the underlying catalyst for it is religiously motivated...

  • ignorance is bliss. next thing u know the religious people will say certain colors are a sin.but then again being a follower of christ has nothing to do with religion anyways.. amen. and praise the Lord he set us free.too busy looking on the outward but not the heart.

  • it amazes me that a lot of u say that people who smoke arent christian yet u wont hesitate to take pahrmeuceutical poisons or eat 10 pies if ya want. not to mention the air u breathe is 10 times worse than cigarettes. or maybe u didnt consider that even the most fit athletes that seem to do everything right are the most unhealthy. everyone has bad habits that they need help with yet people seem to pinpoint smoking as the worst. what about gluttony or gossip , etc ? but noo dont mention that!

  • @JESUSisLORDandCHRIST That sounds awesome unless you really start reading the bible. You don't find that anywhere in scripture. Genesis 9:20-- Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded to plant a vineyard. When he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered in his tent... he had discovered how to drink wine and get drunk. You and I are not allowed to pick and choose the words we like and don't like in the bible, and we are warned not to add things to it.

  • I just wanna say something about when people say "Jesus turned water into wine." The Bible says he changed the water into "new" wine. The original word for wine was used by the English to mean grape juice or strong drink. Usually when it talks about alcohol it uses strong drink. One thing for you to understand about Jewish wine though, Jewish wine was 20 parts water to 1 part wine so even if there was alcohol it was very little, and you couldn't get drunk off it. Also Ephesians 5:18

  • the body is the temple of the holly spirit and who destroys it Jehova will destroy him

  • @albusai The holy spirit, man, is a big joke. He inspired all bible readers, interpreters and translators in a different way, and is the culprit for the fact that there are over 35,000 christian denominations. Fire him, he is doing a lousy job

  • @ndzoko Don't blame the Spirit for human flaws and limits.

  • @Heejinieee Isn`t it the holy spirits task to guide the church, to guide bible readers ? Whose fault is it then christianity as so split up in different faiths and beliefs ? You certainly claim right interpretations to be inspired by the holy spirit, but the bad ones are not, they are human flaws and limits, right ?

  • @thenetrider7 If you read all of Numbers 6 instead of just the first paragraph, it talks about the Nazirites making a vow setting them apart to the Lord and during that vow they can't do anything basically. Apart from that, JESUS drank wine! He did NOT get drunk! Drunkenness can tear you apart from God especially when you get addicted because it then makes you reliable on the bottle instead of him.

  • @bmydky Read Numbers 6, the law for nazarians, judges13 and Proverbs 20 and21 if you want to know what God thinks about drinking wine.

  • If a Christian is someone that loves God then I would say NO, they can not drink or smoke and be a Christian at the same time.

We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. 1 John 2:3

People call themselves saved but willingly commit habitual sin. Many churches teachings are messed up

  • @shanedungey

So...the Bible says that smoking and drinking are sins?

  • @shanedungey

where does it say in the bible not to smoke?

and dont quote that verse "your body is a temple," because that verse actually does not have anything to do with smoking.

when the verse says "do not defile your body, therefore honor God with your body"

it uses the word 'defile' in strictly in the context of adultery and prostitution.

as for drinking, jesus drank wine dude.

  • @shanedungey

Also as for your claim that if someone loves God they will obey his commands, for the most part that is true.

However though, it says in the book of romans that one cannot simply be made righteous by following the commands of God because a man that has kept all of them but one, is just as guilty as the man who breaks all of the commandments.

Also, unless you have a bible verse saying "thou shall not smoke"

i suggest you discard your theory on smoking being a sin

  • @Pyro7502 Please tell me where in the bible it says to stay away and not even look at fermented wine. I would really like to know.

  • Comment removed

  • very smart, I like this guy. And I just heard him today.

This is the core why protestants are irritated with papal decree without significant scripture base or even fatwa of the islamic muftis.

  • @michaelfagbemiro

What disease are you trying to cure with cannabis? Other than withdrawl syndrome? Jeshua never drank alcohol, what they name vine in the scriptures is grape juice.

  • the bible also says do not murder, it din't said murder others .............so it means even killing yourself because smoking kilss you!!!

  • @layosen Ice cream killssssss too!

  • What about the occasional Big Mac? Just as bad as smoking. In my opinion obesitas is becoming a (literally) bigger problem than smoking...

  • I smoke tobacco, drink beer and even smoke cannabis. I am a believer still. Jeshua drank alcohol. But was never drunk. As he was dying on the cross Jeshua said I am thirsty. Then they brought to his lips a sponge soaked in wine and myrrh and he drank. It is possible to enjoy alcohol and still be holy.

Cannabis was created by God as a medicine to heal.

  • @michaelfagbemiro if you smoke weed to get high then that means you are intoxicated. God is against being under the influence. drinking in moderation and not to get drunk seems to be okay according to the scriptures tho

  • The wine Jesus drank was 4-8 parts water diluted with 1 part wine.

  • @Brynnium interesting calculation! Where did you learn this?

  • So ,all the people who witnessed the "Miracles" were pissed out of their skulls ? That figures...............lol

  • Would Jesus raise someones alcohol level or be a means to raising someone's alcohol level?

  • Bringing harm to your body is sin and being addicted to something is also a sin. The amount of alcohol you consume matters. It clearly states in the Bible that being a drunk is sin and also that putting something before God is, too.

  • @rinakam91 Alcoholism is a disease!

  • Jesus made about 180 gallons of wine for people who had been drinking and partying for close to a week, at the point when he made it. People who were drunk surely partook in it (probably more than not). Did he contribute to their sin, or temptation?

  • thank u john piper!!!!!!!!!

  • Paul's letters state to bishops and church leaders Be sober. Therefore the issue is that church leadership needs to set a good example by giving up the booze and the smokes. However many church leaders are bad examples.

  • @Thechristiancullen

good thing Jesus never drank alcohol, or we'd all be in a hell of a lot of trouble.

  • @sapnyosentry Would you like a cigarette?

  • Comment removed

  • I drink to smite Christians

  • Maybe if "god" would actually answer prayer we wouldn't have to create youtube videos about the dangers of drinking and smoking.;

  • Gospel fruit changes the way people see things and what they do--that was ON POINT...beautiful...babe in Christ versus mature in Christ...very good! thanks

  • Jesus turned water into wine. he also said "follow the laws of the land". meaning not to drink if you're underage.

  • @Darkwolf41 watch out for the meaning of "wine" in the original texts...it meant grape juice

  • @Pyro7502 In Genesis 9:20, Noah drank wine and became drunk. If "wine" meant grape juice, or a watered down wine like most people love to argue about, then why would Paul forbid us from drinking a lot of it? No matter how much water or grape juice you drink, you cannot get drunk from it. The bible teaches us that it is okay to drink a glass of wine and be joyful. But it forbids us to get drunk from it because it then starts controlling our life.

  • @bmydky the old languages had only one word for wine as in wine as we know it today and grape juice. The Bible teaches to stay away from the "fermented" wine and not even look at it..

  • @Pyro7502 anyone with common sense knows that back then grapes naturally fermented producing alcohol in wine. what u heard about grape juice is a whole load of religion its not accurate.it was wine period.

  • @Darkwolf41 So did Jesus believe that people in Nazi Germany should " follow the laws of the land" ? As a Jew I suspect he would have other ideas about that. How about following the laws of Iran ? or even Texas . I find it hard to believe Jesus wouldn`t appreciate someone shooting Ted Haggard in the balls? Jesus was a moonshiner, I doubt if he paid the Romans any tax on the magic booze

  • @Darkwolf41

On many accounts the bible says to be sober and alert. Drinking to get drunk is a sin but not drinking as beverage. Some people are to weak to have just one drink so they have to kill alcohol in general.

  • i am a pastor, and i smoke a pipe on occasion. in the evenings sometimes, while i read or while im meditating on the word. for me its an act of relaxation, for me its not an addiction its an enjoyment. As far as the "temple" goes. Jesus says it is not what goes in to a man that defiles him, but what comes out of the heart. watching some movies or listening to some music is a real danger because it affects the heart. having an occasional smoke or drink does not. plus it keeps you from judging.

  • @TheHellbinder Im not sure smoking or drinking keep you from judging... I think judgement or lack there of is a reflection of character, not your choice of recreational activities.

  • @MrJMCall I have judged that its time for a Guinness , the beer of the Gods

  • @ilikezappa but not the beer of God. is there a beer of God? why do people waste their time drinking and smoking? it's all social, usually only between people so if im living a life for Jesus, then why would i even bother about such a thing?

  • @BagpipeHustler Because you meet a better class of person in a bar than in a church

  • @ilikezappa either or. guinness is a good, scratch that a proper beer but it's not a beer of any god.

  • @BagpipeHustler Well , Bono likes it

  • @ilikezappa Amen!

  • um ...arent we called to press forward? and be filled with the holy spirit? and that our bodies are the temple of god?

  • i too struggle with this, i stopped cold turkey when i was saved, but every now and then i have an inner fight with myself when i want to smoke one and after i do i feel guilty like i disobeyed god

  • I just can't see Jesus Christ walking around with a rot gut can in His hand.Sooooo!!!!

  • man looketh on the outward appearance, however, the Lord looketh upon the heart.

its not what goes into a man(through his mouth) that defiles him,

but what proceeds out of his mouth. there is the heart of a man displayed.

  • @homiescopies In this case he was talking about dirt lol but nice try.

  • @candiceevans1 Let me know what resoursces you find or come up with...I have smoked many, many years now and I have also been a born again christian for many years and I have struggled with the same....The Bible never pinpoints smoking and say that we shouldnt but at the same time it does teach as christians to abstain from apperances of evil and not to do things that could cause our bro and sis in christ to stummble so clearly there is warning but I still search for clarity as many others do!

  • Christ challenges us...Come as you are...He works from the Heart and then the outward....I was a Christian for many years...the more I studied God's Word, the things of the flesh started to dissapate. I know this flesh will always be the thorn I'll struggle with. But as God's word continues to flourish my soul..."all these things come to pass"

  • The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you called him a glutton and a drunkard. Viva la Microbrewery!

  • read 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, then read the whole chapter to see what context it's in and then think - does God tell you that you can drink and smoke? does He agree or disagree with it? what does He say in His whole Word about these things? remember, as a Christian the top priority is God, your sanctification, your following of Christ, your telling others of God's Good News, and smoking and drinking can quickly become a problem for every believer. Glorify God, not yourself.

  • first of all, to the Christians who think they can live as you please while in the flesh, I say you're wrong, because such thinking is just carnal and just hypocritical. why? it goes against what Christ taught, such living isn't Christian. you don't and can't glorify God by drinking and smoking and whatever other carnal/fleshly folly you see as okay in your opinion to do, you're bringing shame to the Body(Church) of Christ and clearly are more interested in pleasing yourself rather than God.

  • @dayoftheVictor

What would Jesus say to the drug addict who wants to give up the bad habit but them seem to struggle and relapse over and over Would Jesus tell them go away ur no good you blew ur chance? No He would show them love In Matthew 11: 28 Jesus says come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you Rest. Take my yoke and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you'll find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden light.

  • @changeishere2008 yes, come to Jesus and accept Him and His way to live holy as He is holy, which means giving up our addictions, relying on Him to free us from our fleshly lusts and desires which destroy our bodies(smoking, drinking, drugs,etc.). we can do nothing without Him but sin, sin, and sin more. fight your desires to do what the unbelievers do(drinking, smoking, doing drugs, fornicating, etc.) and live as God wants you to live, holy, as He is holy.

  • @dayoftheVictor

Somtimes if people are addicted to drugs and porn they need to be deliverd from that strong hold. There are deliverance ministries with in church. The problem is when a person gets saved they need a lot of nurturing with in the body of Christ . The Church likes to point fingers at anyone who has a problem. Those people can only take so much judgement from people who are suppose to show love. They eventualy leave and continue to struggle. It happens all the time.

  • @dayoftheVictor

It takes time to be a mature beleiver. Some are judged, confused with doctrine and condemed with hell fire every Sunday. They leave when they can't take the hypocracy any more. Why is the church not sensitive to hurting people and showing God's love. Don't you think it's sad the church is too divided on doctrine and denominations . Too much we're right and they are wrong and pointing fingers going on.

we need to pray for unity peace and love.

  • To the Christians here arguing with the atheists, DON'T.

I saw this video of a guy who was advising us, as God advised him, that it's pointless arguing with unbelievers.

It's better to pray for them, he said. If we do this with love in our heart, God will do as He wills.

After preaching them, if they start making points about God's existence, just give up and start praying for them.

    God bless you all.

  • @MzPapi4Ever Yeah but If we have the knowledge to answer their comments correctly shouldn't we do that to speak truth into them?

  • @Diachi26 Anything but arguments.

Atheists who argue have already made up their mind about everything. They argue to get you to believe something they think is true, when it's not.

How many atheists have you seen accepted Jesus-Christ after an "argument"? I don't know about you, but I've never seen one.

Yes, if they have a question you can answer. When they ask question, it means that they want to know. Matthew 7:7 "Ask and it will be given to you." :)

  • @MzPapi4Ever our task is to tell the unbelievers the truth that Christ spoke, speak truth and let the Holy Spirit do what He does, our arguing and debating more likely will repel them and make them think we're just interested in looking better than them and being right all the time, we have to cease our "holier than thou" attitude out when dealing with people, live with unfeigned love towards people, show them the hope that is in us, the love of Christ, by our faith and works, not by mere words

  • @dayoftheVictor Totally agree.

The thing is that aetheists and Christ's followers are not the same page. They both STRONGLY trust in their belief. So arguing with unbelievers, as you wrote, will make show that you are better than them instead of showing them that they and we are all sinners and that only accepting Christ can make us accepted.

  • I think your answer is awesome, short and clear, but I really don't understand most of the comments about this video!! God gives us wisdom how to take good care of our body so don't be stupid!! and stop saying that it's not in the bible and Jesus also drink wine!! Simply ask God how He thinks about drinking and smoking? If it's good for your body then go ahead but of course you will suffer its consequences :)

  • @duksukkaew Wellthe Bible should be our guide and not some subjective feeling we get when we pray about it. And yes, red wine is good for us. Both the alcohol and the grape products seem to reduce cardiac disease which is so prevalent in the Bible belt where people overeat and dont drink alchol.

  • Comment removed

  • What about Cigars john?

  • Martin Luther King Jr smoked and he was voted america's greatest preacher so how do you answer that? smoking is not a sin! Drinking is and the bible is clear to stay away from wine Prove 21-23.

  • Give space to conquer ! Space for the the fruit of the gospel to to work through those, that they will come to recognize for themselves. Well said Pastor.

  • I think people need to understand if you drink does that mean you a bad person. No, it doesn't. Saying that when i turn 21 and i am with some friends and i drink a glass of wine or have a beer does that make me a lesser Christian? In the Bible it says these this about drinking. First, do not get drunk. Second, do not drink around people who have struggled with alcohol. Third, if you drink drink in moderation. So its ok to drink as long as you follow what the Bible has to say about it.

  • @dukede3764 wine is mackery and strong drink (intoxicants, beer and liquor) are ragers. anyone decieved by these is not wise. Are we saying christians should and can be moderately drunk??? God Forbid such madness. Remmber JESUS was a nazarite . He was accused of bring a winebibber. The Jews called fruit of the grape while yet on the vine wine.Fermented wine was not used in Passover untill years later. the feast then was called the Ferast of the Jew nand not of the LORD.

  • @dukede3764 The feast of unleavened bread commands for the removal of all fermentation in the house. mold, and yeast products...etc. The word is do not be intoxicated with wine, but rather be filled with the Spirit (Holy Spirit). The word says be sober for your adversary the devil goes forth as a roaring lion seeking whom he can devour. The questionb is not can a christian drink it is does a christian drink and or smoke and mantain a Christlike Character. I Believe your honest answer Is No.

  • @PastorJS1 Moderate consumption of alcohol is the Biblical norm for Christians.

  • @prairiemark What biblical norrm are you refering to? Give scrips. It may be christian but it sure isn't Christ like. Pvbs 22. warns against any such practice. Where does srip say anthing about moderate use of and intoxicant. It;s says be viligeant and sober for your adversay nthe devil is going forth as a lion, seeing whom he may consume. To be moderately intoxicated is a contractdiction of terms and actions.

  • @PastorJS1 Again honesty is important. We dont want to let a strongly prefered tradition interfere with being honest. Case in point here....being ''moderately intoxicated'' is not the same as moderate consumption of alcohol. Little dishonest implications like that say a lot about ones integrity. Moderate consumption of alcohol is one or two drinks a day. To be ''moderately intoxicated'' of course is a different deal. Nice try, but again...it is dishonest.

  • @prairiemark How much alcohol intoxicates???? I'm not talking about the legal limit. Did you rd the scrips?

what untruth is in those I gave you! when facts can't be refuted try personel attack to discredit. Old tactic which always fall short. the Word intoxicate has the conotation of to exciteand stimulate. not only to stupefy. So If you consume moderate amounts of alcohol you are moderatly intoxicated. Be not drunk translated intoxicated with wine but rather Be ye Filled/Satiated by the HS.

  • @PastorJS1 Pharmacologically we know that small amounts of alcohol do not impair motor skills or judgement. States have legal limits that are low.... There is a difference in meaning between moderate consumption of alcohol and being moderately intoxicated. One or two drinks of alcohol in twenty four hours is usually defined as moderate consumption. There are health benefits from moderate consumption..

  • Respond to this video...A slightly intoxicated individual starts to show impaired motor skills. A moderately intoxicated individual shows impaired motor skills and impaired judgement and should not be operating machinery or cars. Again...a person can be a moderate consumer of alcohol for many years and never be even slightly intoxicated. A pastor needs to know the meaning of the words he uses....and use them honestly.

  • Respond to this video... The amount of alcohol it takes to intoxicate a person varies widely based on many factors. The body size of the individual.....how many enzymes the liver produces to break down the alcohol (this varies by race and by how much a person is used to drinking), how much food is in the system, how fast the alcohol is consumed, how fast the heart can pump the blood through the liver to break it down...and so on.

  • @prairiemark So now we follow biblical mandates based on sientific ana.lysis. Do what you will. yet the scrips don't lie. Think that arguement will hold weight in the court of heaven. Rd dictionary def 1st before you try to refute statements. I'll say it again alcohol is a stimulant and excites at any consumption. You speak of levels of which scrips places no trust for just as you stated the effect may differ in each person. you yet haven't answered 1st Cor 8th chp. If meat cause my brother to

  • @PastorJS1 You dont know what you are talking about. Alcohol is a Central Nervous System depressent. It can cause an excitatory response in low levels when it depresses the centers in the brain that inhibit certain behaviors. (if you inhibit an inhibitory center you get yet excitement). Amphetamines are psychcostimulants. Methyphenidate (Ritalin) in a psychostimulant. Alcohol is a CNS depressent as are the Barbituates.

  • @prairiemark If you Knew half as much about the word as you do Alcohol, we wouldn't be still on this subject. So I leave you to your surmisings. The word call this foolish and unlearned questions. No scriptural fact can prevail on you the truth. You already know what u believe. Fare ye well.

  • @PastorJS1 You are wrong on alcohol. Wrong on the scientific facts...yet you speak as if being a pastor removes you from the requirement that you be informed and factual. You are wrong on the biblical facts, you you speak as if being a pastor removes you from the requirement of being informed and factual on the Bible. BTW I spent four years in formal Biblical studies at two institutions. I also have two degrees in biological and medical fields. Please be accurate or shut up.

  • Respond to this video...You are the one raising the unlearned and foolish questions. The scientific facts are what they are. And the Biblical norm is clear. Moderate consumption of alcohol is the biblical norm for Christians. We are free not to drink if we like, but Paul tells us not to let people judge us for what we eat or drink.

  • @PastorJS1 You asked the question "How much alcohol doest it take to be intoxicated?" This is basically as scientific question...not a theological one.......You introduced the topic and I responded as best as I could......then you jump on my ass for answering in a scientific way...... Are you being fair and honest with me? And likewise you need to examine how honest you are with the scriptures as well.

  • @prairiemark But this I see is not your quest. you are interested in you and not your brother who is weak in faith. You may find liberty innwhat you do but use not your liberty for and occasion to the flesh. no ye not that a little leaven will leaven the whole lump. purge out the old leaven and become an New lump! dishonesty mynfriend is when you twist scripture to fit your belief. I now know what you beleive. But do believe what the word says?... We have the word we either follow it or not.

  • @PastorJS1 You dont know me or my interaction with various kind of people. You judge me falsely. Twice this week I was with my brother in law who is an alcoholic. We had large family parties and most of them drank both nights. But I refrained from even having one beer because I wasnt sure what effect it would have on him. I honestly doubt if it would have made any difference at all, but I refrained on the off chance it might have made a difference.

  • @PastorJS1 Again, I am approaching the scriptures as honestly as possible.Moderate consumption is the biblical norm for the Christian. Alcohol was used at communion, at meals with the disciples, at weddings...in the Bible it was a normal part of life. Any other view is a dishonest. As for equating moderate consumption of alcohol with moderate intoxication...why dont you just repent, admit it is dishonest and quit doing it? Be a leader in your group and take a bold step to Biblical honesty!

  • @prairiemark You would be dangerous if you knew what u where talking about. See feast of unleavend bread .

where do u come up with these phrases as honest as I can? Where did The word say be honest as u can. Sounds like your own form of righteous. Be ye Holy . Be ye perfect. Be sober, be born again. Speaak the truth not as u think but as the scripsture reveal! and y refrained not because you love your brother or have faith toward GOD, But on the Off Chance?? Suppose christ came on the off

  • @PastorJS1 Of course you judged me. You said I was not interested in a weak brother. You judged my heart and said I didnt care about others.

  • @prairiemark chance you might be saved? Forgive me I keep trying to reason with u on a illogical asumption.

And I didn't judge you for I passed no sentence on you. But the fruit of your argument that I have and do discern. rread your own statement and follow advice, repent, stop, and inddeed take a bold and right step. The LORD give light on the scrips we have shared Fare ye well!

  • @PastorJS1 We have the word.....it records that Christ drank wine at communion, at meals and
