To clear up alot of stupid moaning and questions, the bombings of london (the night scenes) are a different film and the Pearl Harbor ones are not the actual attacks on Pearl, its the revenge attacks against Japan (Tokyo Military Institute). Hopefully this clears up some things.

@Schimml0rd Idd, but that makes them near impervious to long range AA, while making them a little easier targets to low range AA, and making the planes more vulnerable to crashing.

The shrapnel from bombs is not a problem tho, as planes are faster than the debris+bomb-to-ground time
