thanks for the reply bud im living in waterford and have been going up there for three years havny seen a fish that size been caught im going up myself and my son 12 this feb any tips appreciated ,ive neaver went out on a boat allways ended up on the canal ive seen my best fish was two pound please get back to me on a few good spots or some info for the kid andmyself thanks for getting back to me
@cullinane8888 some big yellow bait i never used before fished deep in cold weather in the evening. lost the bait since though. fish was a bit skinny after spawning though, if it was later in the year she would have been 10lb. Come Feb 15th I'll be hunting my 10lber
Take up fly fishing lads. You don't know what you are missing. It is so much more fun. I used to use worms etc when I was a kid but once I started fly fishing there was no going back. Great trout!
@munsterfloyd well the day was particularly calm, not a lap of a wave all day as seen in the video, whipping out the fly rods for the may fly season. the trout are too far down early on in the season to tempt them with a fly. the fight on a small rod like the one i was using is really exciting but the finesse of a fly rod is always trumps. thanks for the comment :-)
i was havin an ice cold pint in the nice sunny weather! you can go fishing when you get out here a few of the lads fish down at the beach and have them for dinner. a lot of puffer fish though hav to throw dem bak!

Them fish were delicious, They went down extremely well, Apart from the small1 off course that made gr8t dead bait 4 pike. Gud times were had!!
