  • I can't look at this video the same way after watching the Sonic1sonichedgehog dub.

  • @ownabilityify don't lieee you like both :P

  • Cool Video

  • Fanboys just shut up already

  • yo im 12 and i been playin retro sonic literally since i was born! 3d sonic is ok

  • Aaron Webber confirmed for weeaboo.

  • @Aaron Webber SELL ME THE COLLECTORS EDITION of this!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Aaron Webber really knows his fan community. The conversation about the "old vs. new fans' and Boost to Win was spot on and very true. He also mentioned how quite alot of people hated the Werehog. XD And of course he had to mention Sonic 4 and how 'purist' fans will enjoy the lack of the Homing Attack for Classic Sonic. XD

  • check 4:17 on the top left it says ACT 1 01/30 ACT2 03/30

  • Oh... man...! :D :D I REALLY can't WAIT for this game to come out! :D

  • I bet wen sonic and tales got to the hub world they thought they were high or sumtin lol

  • yea cmon can it be made for the ps2 because i have that system??

  • @surreal223 NO. They don't even make PS2 games anymore. PS2 is dead. If you have a good PC get it for PC.

  • @surreal223 Your funny

  • Thumbs up if you are kinda pissed because the Collector's edition is not going to be available on the U.S. =/

  • Ugh... Too much arguing going on in the comments. I'm going to a different video.

  • @SONICBOYREBORN234 By calling something pointless, all you prove is that you don't have a real argument. and no again. everyone knows that Sonic 06 is opinion, altogether too many people have mistaken colors for a fact. I'm afraid I won't be shutting up either. and by saying that, all you did there was reinforce that you have nothing to say. Try this, if you're so wise: try just telling me what you ike in a non-arrogant, non-antagonistic way. Then maybe you wouldn't sound like such a fanboy.

  • @radicalcrash I'M NOT TRYING TO ARGUE!!!! God damn it man, will you just shut the fuck up!?!? God your like a fucking girl!!! Just play the game or don't, okay??? Jesus!!! Opinions are opinions. You don't have to insult people, because their's are different.

  • @SONICBOYREBORN234 No, I won't. But you're perfectly free to at anytime. I don't play the game. Actualy, I took great pleasure in TEARING the disrespectful mockery of Sonic apart with my two hands. You're the one insulting people for being different and trying to force me to agree with you that colors and generations are the best 3D Sonics. So don't give me the "opinions are opinions" when that's what I've been saying this whoe time, not you.

  • @radicalcrash Lies. If that was true, you would had shut up a long time ago -_-

P.s. If COLOURS was the disrespectful mockery of Sonic in your eyes, then 06 must have been the Holy Grail XD And I only insult you due to you insulting me, and for pretty much acting like a 12 year old.

  • @SONICBOYREBORN234 Well, obviously you kept talking, so "lies" is the wrong word. Had you shut up, it wouldn't have been a problem.

That's not an insult. It's another example of you believing your opinion is fact. Ike, just because you think 06 is bad, then obviously it is, so by telling me that 06 is a holy grail, you think your insulting me. Sad...

And even more sad is laughing at yourself and trying justify it by using my "behavior".

  • @radicalcrash Repeatatively long and nonsensical speeches are repeatative.

  • @SONICBOYREBORN234 In other words, you have no answer to that, once again. The bottom line is that Sonic 06 is not a factually bad game and Sonic colors is not a factually good game. There are no facts when it comes to entertainment. Unless absolutely every single person in the universe agrees, reviews and general consensus are totally useless. Nobody has the right to hate on an 06 fan just for being an 06 fan. Nobody has the right to hate on a colors hater just for being a colors hater.

  • @radicalcrash Not hating, just saying, you keep saying the same thing. And I have my reasons why I think Colours is better then SA2.

  • @SONICBOYREBORN234 As I said, prefering colors is fine. But that doesn't mean that the game is better. All it means is that it's better for YOU. I know that a lot of people are high on colors right now, but that doesn't mean the game is better either. All it means is that a lot of people are high on it right now.

  • If this doesn't get game of the year i'm going to rip my ps3 in half

  • @AlzerTheTeenager then ask for a new PS3 for christmas cause this game is not getting GOTY.

  • bottomless pit signs would have really been helpful in Wing Fortress Zone

  • @sonicprince0968 Amen to that.

  • I LOVE THIS 2D SONIC GENARATIONS HOPE THEY MAKE MORE LIKE THIS 2D ONES

  • SONIC 4 EPISODE IS THAT GAME ON PS3?

  • @Musharrafshah Sonic 4 EPISODE 1 is on PS3, ios,windows phone,wii,Xbox 360

  • the sonic 2d one is the best but like this one?

  • Hope to GOD, you will be able to see Amy's panties.

    :)

  • @Danmandingo XD

  • I feel like it would be AWESOME if Classic Sonic where Sonamy's offspring.

  • @TailsSena No......just,...no.....

  • @TailsSena That wouldn't make any sense. Plus that would mean Sonic was his own father.

  • Clucky (Chicken)

    Flicky (Bird)

    Pecky (Penguin)

    Picky (Pig)

    Pocky (Rabbit)

    Ricky (Squirrel)

    Rocky (Seal)

  • 16:58 What!!! The countdown starts at 4 instead of 5!!!!!! RUINED FOREVER!!!!!!!!!

  • @pkstarstorm1up I'm sorry but Sonic 06 is not better than SA1, SA2, Unleashed or Colors. If SEGA would have properly finished the game and iron out all of the bugs then it could have been a good game. I found it quite boring after awhile

  • @SONICBOYREBORN234 Oh, I heard him, he's just wrong. In SA2, there's a ton of good patforming, creative environments, well-laid out jump mechanics, physics that aren't WAY too heavy, and good everything ese. it also be gan a really cool story arc and music stye. in this, there's patforming, and good-LOOKING environments, but that's all. I've tried the XBOX demo. it's not much different then Unleashed and colors.

  • @radicalcrash Thats the point. The majority of the people loved the Unleashed and Color type stages. It just seems your part of the minority that didnt. Everybody has their opinions so its all good, but Sega has already said most modern Sonic games will be continue to be made in the Unleashed/Colors style.

  • @VINCEJisSONiCtheMC That's all well and good (especially as you recognized that everybody's entited to an opinion, other then trying to cram yours down others' throats). I can live with the gameplay, but why do they have to butcher the stories, as well? How many times do people sa Sonic plots don't matter, so why can't they skip or not pay attention to the cut-scenes and let that part of Sonic be eft to the ones who kept them in business while the retros were making up problems with the games?

  • @radicalcrash I agree with you there. The plots should have a little more depth to them. I honestly think they stuck a perfect balance with SA2's plot. It was some what serious, yet fun and made sense, and had a great ending to top it off. Sonic 06 felt too over dramatic to me and Colors felt too kiddy.

  • @VINCEJisSONiCtheMC I think that if 06 had been handled more naturally. Had it looked and sounded mroe realistic, and if people had liked the gameplay, there would have been less bitching about the plot. I loved the 06 storyline, even if the drama could get too much, mainly in the form of draggy scenes. I loved SA2 because it started the Shadow arc, which is still the most interesting story. He lost a lot of appeal after he found out his past, though.

  • @radicalcrash I agree. He's become less of the "menacing mysterious" rival. And more like a "buddy buddy" rival

  • @VINCEJisSONiCtheMC Without the angst of his mysterious past, he's literally a black and red version of Sonic. The buddy characters aren't bad (except Amy and Big), but they would all be better with backstories. Shadow is the only one so far to develop that.

  • @radicalcrash Exactly

  • @radicalcrash Well, that's mainly because Green Hill serves as a tutorial level for Modern Sonic. To get a grasp on the gameplay.

  • @SONICBOYREBORN234 Yes, but its still an example of how the gameplat will follow, and it wasn't anything great. The controls weren't any tighter then Unleashed or colors. At least the music wasn't too bad this time.

  • @radicalcrash I didn't find to much platforming in SA2 considering how linear the levels were. As for the environments and physics, well the environments were just generic forest, cities and bases. SA1 had more creative environments because they were all different. In SA2 you just...went there. The physics were just to buggy for my money. SA1 had a few aviodable gliches, but SA2 was buggy.

  • @SONICBOYREBORN234 There was more platforming there then there was in Unleashed and colors. Generatinos might have done okay on platforming, but the physics are still way too heavy. The term, "generic" is completely invalid. Every single idea in the world that can be invented already has been, so by extension, EVERYTHING is "generic". I fell through more floors of critically acclaimed games like colors, MGS4, and ACB then in any of the supposedly "bad" 3D Sonics.

  • @radicalcrash No there wasn't there was more 3D platforming than colors but not as a whole.

  • im having such a little fanboygasm lol this looks amazing

  • Tell SEGA That i love this game and the graphics! and the second demo!!

  • it could be cool if the game was at least 15.99 in stores there are people out there that are still broke come on now

  • Anyone know how we will get Super Sonic on the console version?

  • @DragonStreet452 My guess would be red rings again like in colors.

  • If this is really Aaron Webber's channel, then imma subscribe! =D

  • This better be the last time you only have Sonic playable.

  • @pkstarstorm1up I agree. I don't want the side characters to be reduced into characters only playable in the Olympic spinoff.

  • 10:05 LOL the dude didn't even mention Sonic 06 thats how bad it was.

  • @GamePlayUK Sonic 06 is not bad. he just forgot. Sonic 06 is one of the greatest Sonic games.

  • @pkstarstorm1up yeh lol next joke. next u will be saying Big the cat is the best sonic character

  • @GamePlayUK I'm not joking. Despite it's promblems it's much better than most of the 3D Sonic games.

  • @pkstarstorm1up Are u high?

  • @MrGameGuy675 No. Are you a fag? Because you sure are acting like one asking a question like that just because someone else's opinion isn't part of the norm.

  • Who remembers bac on sonic 1 where u couldn't spin dash...-.- Gosh that was gay

  • @SwaggaFlow22 I do remember when Sonic wasn't able to spin dash, but never really picked up much of a homosexual vibe from it, to be honest.

  • i beat sonic 3 but dang it took me month.i beat sonic sonic 2 snic 3 and sonic 4 episode1.

  • i beat sonic 3 but dang it took me month.

  • lol more fanfag bitching in the comments

  • @deviltetsuo555 You expected anything less from the Sonic fanbase?

  • @agentk16

yea to think for once they would shut up is to much to ask for

  • Everytime I see a Sonic generations video or trailer it gets better and better! I pre-ordered the PS3 and I am doing a walkthrough for the game in my channel

  • But, everything that Colors did fit it in terms of plot and gameplay mechanics (I sound contradicting but I'm not) He was in an interstellular amusement park, with the goal of saving Alien Creatures (Wisps) he had found out about somewhat towards the beginning of the game. Point being, every Sonic game has it's own style. Hate or love it, it's the flat out truth.

  • Each game has it's own story, sequel, prequel (Sonic CD with the entire Sonic 4 ordeal). I personally like the Unleashed plot the most, because it was very serious, but it kept it's tone down in terms of various jokes. Colors in my opinion didn't do such a great job of this. While having a serious plot, the jokes killed the entire mood for me. Keep the "corney" jokes in the 90's please. It didn't really fit the game, and in terms of cutscene music. I felt like I was playing Rachet and Clank.

  • @wizzlekidd I know its just an opinion

  • damn sky sanctuary is waay better !! lol its more skysanctuary then the original

  • @vrshowdown Is the joke behind your comment is to complement and diss two things that shares the same name without being specific?

  • @nickoberon Ok, that could be enought for you but not for me

It´s gonna be too expensive for 9lv, 6 bosses ,10 chl and 1 dlc

    ................

But that doesn´t mean i´m not going to buy it :P

  • @nickoberon if I heard right there are 5 challenges for each stage

  • @VaanArisato 9 levels, 10 missions a stage both sonics, 6 bosses, and only 1 confirmed DLC.

  • @VaanArisato half right, their is going to be 10 stages per level because there are five for modern sonic and five for classic sonic.

  • Holy Smokes!

    This is gonna be awesome.

  • brb replaying sonic 1

  • @marzipanK I'm going to go through Sonic 1, 2, 3, CD, and play some Spinball ('cause I really liked that game).

  • the chaos emeralds are on top right

  • This is the first time I am actually hyped for a Sonic game since Sonic Adventure 2. None of that genre roulette crap that they've been doing since Adventure. It looks better than Unleashed and Colors already.

  • Day 1 buy for me !

  • @wizzlekidd HA HA HA!!! THATS FUNNY TO MEEE!! I think the Modern 3D sections are a big part of it, BUUUUUUUUUUUUUT you are forgetting that 2D sections are now Classic Sonic stages. So the actual goal/selling point is to get Classic fans back on the bus and Modern fans to see what they missed back in the early '90s. having both gameplay styles, is the gimmick. (this is just a random opinion)

  • @TheSonic41125 flippin eck, calm down.. everyone has different opinions.. also, my favourite thing now is that super sonic is fully playable in levels

  • awww yeaaa no more linearity

  • I don´t know if anybody realized but, isn´t this game going to be a "little"short?

  • @mrguycrap I thought so to but there are extra missions to take on. :)

  • @nintendolife25 Yeah,10 missions :\

  • @mrguycrap I think there's more than that. Didn't you see the top-left corner in the hub?

  • @nintendolife25 Yeah but the levels are.....not much :\

There are only like 8 levels and 5 bosses or something that´s not enought for 60 euros or much :\

  • AWESOME!!!

  • I pre-ordered it Wooh!!! :D

  • Ok i made my comment before actually watching the video, a mistake i've made far too many times.. Even though I still think they could have picked better levels, the level designs they've created are pretty amazing.

  • those keys under the chaos emeralds it take u to the special stage right

  • They say they chose the best stages but they really don't seem all that varied to me. 2 beginner stages, 4 city stages.. And green hill is a bit too similar to planet wisp. The only stages that stand out are chemical plant, sky sanctuary and maybe crisis city. Where's the ice stage? The space stage? And why no stages from the handheld games? SRA's Sky Babylon, Coral Cave, SAdv2's Music Plant, so many choices.. Would've loved to see the Bomber Barbara boss. All the OST remixes would be epic too.

  • @BushyRoyal Space stage is the boss battle on ARK with Shadow, you're right about the ice stages, and they specifically noted that handheld stages would only be in the 3DS version

  • You can see the chaos emeralds on the right corner in the home menu.

  • It's weird being hyped for a Sonic game.

  • 7th: The bitching about the car is just plain pathetic.

8th: Those damn 2.5D sections shouldn’t be there.

9th: The music is just another example of invalid criticisms.

10th: “Like a dog about to get a treat, or something.” You just summed up exactly what’s wrong with the retro fanbase and their sense of humor.

11th: PLEASE don't stick with this style of Sonic for long.

  • @radicalcrash I hate how retrofags keep thinking Sonic shouldn't be taken seriously.

All those epic bosses are gone for more generic crap.

The story should be like SA2 more often.

    Colors was repetitive shit.

Sonic's gimmicks added more variety and innovation than this shit ever will.

If they keep Sonic like this for long, he'll be like Mario: A shitty, overrated series with repetitive gameplay. I miss the real Sonic, the cool, heroic one who did new things and acted realistically.

  • @vgman94

Repetitive? You kidding? We haven't had a storyline like the Colours storyline since Heroes, and even then only the Genesis games did storylines like that. The real question is why SHOULD Sonic be taken seriously? It's a BLUE HEDGEHOG running around at the speed of sound. Not some sword wielding badass trying to avenge his clan or something. Though to be honest, I personally don't play Sonic games for the story. I play them for the gameplay.

  • @SiLeNtDo0m Actually to be fair in the two gentlemen, vgman94 and radicalcrash's point, some franchises are better off having a darker and more realistic tone like the marvel and dc comics. Even video game wise like spyro and megaman took a darker approach and many(like myself) would prefer that style. However, I can't realy say that sonic is one of them. I, literally, mistaken sonic 06 for a FF game for a second. XD And the story in shadow the hedgehog and 06 is too dramatic for my taste.

  • Comment removed

  • @vgman94 Hey, that's really uncalled for, friend. Wether you like the franchise or not, doesn't mean you should accused them for something they aren't. :( While I 1/4 understand where the word overrated come from, "shitty" and "repetitive" is anything but what Mario is. Also, this is an anniversary, afterall. So in order to celebrate sonic after 20 years, of course we have to go retro and look back over the years of what made sonic today, even just once. Don't hate, appreciate. :)

  • I know you like Nintendo and especially Mario, but not everyone will. Mario's repeated the same essential formula for 30 years in 2D and 3D formats. I'm glad you like it, but I don't. Sonic used gimmicks in all the 2000 games including the Adventure series, so why do they ignore that (Super Sonic, Werehog, the Team gameplay, etc)? I understand your point in a sense, but this game follows on Colors, so this is not a one-time thing. They'll keep the speed formula for years and SEGA's stated that.

  • Comment removed

  • @vgman94 Sonic used gimmicks in ALL the 2000 games? No. Super Sonic isn't a gimmick, its an integral part of the Sonic mythology and universe. Team Gameplay isn't a gimmick either, its the backbone of the gameplay in Sonic Heroes, not some mode they just tacked on. Is the crazy gravity platforming of Super Mario Galaxy a gimmick then? or FLUDD from Super Mario Sunshine?? i don't think "gimmick" means what you think it does. How did this dude get thumbed up???

  • @123Arkham I disagree with that statement. If something keeps using the same formula over and over, it tends to get boring. A franchises have to try something new like gimmicks or another genre to expand the universe and give it more quality. That way, even if a franchise does something it already did, it will feel fresh and new. Capcom saw this problem with megaman and expand alot of different versions of him, nintendo saw this with a few of their franchises and gave them different genres.

  • @nintendolife25 They do the same formula, but they add different things to it in each game, like Mario. The Modern Formula is pretty much a perfect standpoint for Sonic, especailly if they can add creative, different ways to tweak it.

  • @SONICBOYREBORN234 That's true, friend. :) But I was specifically replying to the abuse "If it's not broke, don't fix it." statement from people complaining about how certain franchise is "better" back in the old days because of the previous gameplay formula and doesn't want any tweaks whatsoever. If a franchise just does the same thing and just focus on quantity, it's going to get dull. My best example is(I know it's typical, but it's the only franchise I can think of without getting hate) COD.

  • @nintendolife25 Ugh....I knew you would mention that.....I.....HATE....COD. It's SO boring. Nothing ever really changes besides them adding small things or removing big things. Which will most likely make it even worse. I mean, at least Battlefield changes things more. But anyway, I think this new formula is perfect for Sonic, not just because of the sense of speed or great platforming, but for the variety. Things are always different in Sonic games. Which is why an SA3, imo is a bad idea.

  • @SONICBOYREBORN234 I really haven't played any of the battlefield games, so I can't comment on that. XD However, you still right about COD and that's why I encourage Sega to keep doing what they are doing right now with sonic. Something different in the games like this vid here. I like the whole rush idea in 3d and everything else in this vid. Though, I wish people would be quiet about SA3.

  • @nintendolife25 It seems as though fanboys just want everything Sega does to be done their way and on their watch. 06 was essentially SA3, as much as the Adventure Fanboys don't want to admit it, it's true. So far, from last year to this year, SEGA has been passing with a very positive viewpoint from the fans, players and reviewers. And to go back and downgrade a perfect gameplay style just to fulfill the fanboys dream's is a huge mistake that Sega should never take. Heh! Rhyme....

  • @SONICBOYREBORN234 True that, my friend. :)

  • @nintendolife25 I can't help but think that the main reason why a majority of people hate COD is because of those fanboys. XD

  • @vgman94 Why do Sonic fans still think the war is going on? Is it because Sonic kicked Mario's butt in terms of an anniversary game? I doubt they're gonna drastically change Mario's 2D and 3D formula since it's pretty perfect for his series. If it isn't broken, don't fix it.

  • @vgman94 I think they should use both the speed and this redesigned classic formula for games. Have some games be like modern, and other ones done in classic style. Everybody wins :D

  • 1st: At 3:29, his comment shows how much damage has been done to their psyche by the supposed Sonic "fans".

2nd: If you hated the Werehog, there haven't been words vile enough to describe you invented yet.

3rd: Colors sucked compared to Unleashed's day stages.

4th: That bit about the drowning music was WAY over-exaggerated.

5th: If it took anyone more then a little practice to nail any Sonic game, that was their fault, not the game's.

6th: Great, another fuckin' joke fest for a story.

  • @radicalcrash I'm sorry, but I strongly disagree with 3rd. While colors is always having a screeching halt for platformering, rarley have any gameplay in the 3d sections, and 80% of the game is 2d(probably the real reason lots of people like it if you ask me), unleashed isn't really any better consider most of my memory from the game, I only remember boosting through majority of the level and some rare inputs. That's my experience with the game even though I thought it was decent. XD

  • @radicalcrash I REALLY agree about the 3rd point you made. Colors seemed to be based off the Wii version of Unleashed's daystages, which were horrible to me.

  • @VINCEJisSONiCtheMC I never played the Wii long enough to form an opinion, but the whole colors experience was bad. Story was the worst part. Seriously, if the retros must butcher the Sonic gameplay, do they HAVE to ruin the stories with out-of-place humor that doesn't belong in the Sonic games to begin with? And gameplay was too easy in 3D, too hard in 2.5D. 2.5D shouldn't even be there. Music was sloppy. Graphics were Wii-standard. And yet ... it's supposed to be Sonic's "best".

  • @radicalcrash I played it long, as i own the game and a wii, and its decent to me. It just seemed like it could have been so much more but the wii's hardware limitation prevented it. Same thing with Unleashed on the Wii. These 3D sonic games seem to reach their full potential on the HD consoles, Unleashed and Generations prove it. And people wonder why Generations wont be on the wii, its because the Wii has already shown twice that it cant handle a real HD sonic game.

  • @VINCEJisSONiCtheMC The Wii can't handle HD, period.

  • @VINCEJisSONiCtheMC If the Sonic games in 3D had aready reached their ful potential, then they would've perfect actual 3D gameplay. These recent games don't play very well. They are mosty uninteresting after a few minutes, as all you do is tip the analog stick to the side a bit and jump. But the controls are TERRIBLE, and the camera zooms out too far.

  • @radicalcrash The full 3D for Sonic most of the time, resulted in cheap deaths and glitchiness. The controls for the modern games are a little loose, but doesn't completely kill it. In this the controls have been tightened very well.

  • Respond to this video... They took five minutes to get used to, and after that they were no more fawed then any other 3D game. The hedgehog engine is way too lose and boring. You don't actually do anything in them most of the time.

  • @radicalcrash Btw, the Hedgehog Engine is a graphics engine, and has no bearings on gameplay style. So idk what your talking about. And how is it boring? I remember doing quite alot more then you would do in sa2. If you listened, you would have heard Aaron say that the gameplay is not just "Boost to Win" (That phrase still makes no sense -_-) You could see many different paths and 2D and 3D platforming.

  • @radicalcrash Generations seems to have fixed all those problems. The levels are varied and fast with great design, the platforming from SA is here, the boost is implemented well, and most people seem to like the controls, you're opinion might just be different

  • @VINCEJisSONiCtheMC Actually, it only took me one playthrough of Unleashed before I was cruising through, but this looks too much like colors. And colors, when I couldn't stand the volume anymore and started playing on mute, then I noticed that I wasn't failing just because the game took a little longer to get used to then Unleashed. It was because the platforming was genuinely laid out by intoxicated toddlers and the 3D was first too empty, then too complicated. And there's way too much 2.5D.

  • @radicalcrash Excuse me, but while I agree that many of the jokes in colors feels forced, I still don't see what sonic shouldn't some humor. We are talking about a world of an anthropomorphic hedgehog fighting against a fat scientist not final fantasy characters. XD

  • @nintendolife25 It's a Japanese furrry anime about a gifted teenager with super powers taking on an evi genius to save the world. Some humor would be fine if it was actually funny, but it shouldn't be the primary focus. It's about saving the world. It's a pre-teen series. It's not meant for a young crowd like Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny, or SpongeBob SquarePants. Unleashed wasn't even funny. Chip was just an endearingly stupid character. Sonic needs epic.

  • @radicalcrash A little too detailed, don't you think? :) Quick question: Are saying "Japanese" that because of the fact they are made from japan, have an anime/manga or have Japanese VAs? Because I hate to break it to you but many vg franchises are like that eg. megaman and street fighter. And sonic's is actually for everyone, not to towards a specific target. And there's many games that has humor but still the "E word"(too overused imo) like R&C,nintendo franchises and such. :D

  • @nintendolife25 No, it's not. Those are details people need to remember about Sonic, and if they don't like them, stop playing the games. It's Japanese because it was made in Japan. It's anime because that's always been the art style. Megaman is mega-anime. Ttake a good long look at the art style. Sonic can't be played by the Everyone crowd. Not even the easiest Sonic game is enough for young children. Unless you mean in genera, and in that case, colors fails to appeal.

  • @radicalcrash Seems more like a formal approach to me to the franchise to me. O.o But that's like calling all the capcom and nintendo franchises that because they all have the same traits for the reason why sonic's a japanese anime. But since it's irrelevant to talk about, I'll leave it like that. :) And by everyone, I mean any age in general. I don't understand what you meant by "Not even the easiest Sonic game is enough for young children.". Care to elaborate?

  • @nintendolife25 Formality is what's required. There's some basic things in life, and one of them is, when something is created in Japan, it requires a certain amount of emotion and seriousness.

Then, as I said before, colors fails to appear to every crowd. They basically mocked the previous Sonic fans (who kept them in business) at the end of colors by trying to be semi-emotional.

I mean, not even the easiest Sonic game can be played by young children, so there's no point in aiming it at them.

  • @radicalcrash My brother was under ten when he played sonic heroes and even beat team dark story. So I don't think it means younger audience shouldn't get into sonic. And for that japan rule, you do realize there are lots of anime that are made for pure humor right? While most gamers outside the sonic franchise may not be intrested in the sonic stories, I do agree there should be balance seriousness and humor. SA2 got it right. Plenty of funny and happy moments but serious in the end.

  • @nintendolife25 Heroes isn't a challenging game, it just has an issue with too many bottomless pits and characters that randomly take off. The enemies aren't particularly hard to defeat, not even with Team Dark. Heroes probably IS the easiest Sonic game. Even Shuffleboard was harder.

Hell, I'm not even saying SA2. Unleashed is good enough. There's plenty of emotion and drama in there. Unleashed is the "funniest" Sonic should ever try to be.

  • @radicalcrash I didn't really feel any drama or emotion in unleashed. Just the story was just there and only got serious in the end. But I think sonic is more like R&C future series. A story with humor and a few touching scenes here and there.

  • @nintendolife25 The Sonic and Chip friendship was emotional, and the battles against Dark Gaia and even Eggman were the epic drama. The opening and ending, espeically. Ratchet and Clank is Western. Sonic is Japanese. There's a big difference. I, however, have't played R&C. What's it like? I have seen things from it. And the difference is: it's funny-ish. Sonic isn't.

  • @radicalcrash They weren't that deep to me and my bros. But hey, to each there own right? :) Anyway, since it's a platformer, the story is most likely not the focus, it's actually the game. And from what I seen, it looks fun as heck! :)

  • @nintendolife25 Exactly! To each their own! I highly doubt that it matters if its a platformer or not, though. The focus of EVERY game is divided between four categories: story, gameplay, audio, and visual. I played the demo on my girlfriend's 360, and neither of us were very impressed with it. I like visiting the old locations, and the modern is still funner then the old stuff, and it manages to be better then colors. :D To me, that's a HUGE plus.

  • @radicalcrash I wouldn't say EVERY game for the focus of story because certain games can have a story that's just there(megaman and certain nintendo products) while other games ,literally, have no story at all(super monkey ball, tekken tag series, capcom vs series, flower, etc). Visual are questionable since many graphic whores will only diss certain games for that reason alone : ( . But I don't think I have played a good game with bad graphics....yet.

  • @nintendolife25 I'm not saying every game focuses on story. I'm saying every game (near every game; Sonic's no exception, and ESPECIALLY not because he's an anthropomorphic hedgehog) has some story so they should put some attention into making it good. An overused plot about a villain pretending to appologize while all of the game's four other characters make bad jokes isn't a good story. Especially since it's set on an amuzement park in space. You're right about all these points.

  • @radicalcrash I see....well, just so you know there are alot of plots and plot devices overused and cliched nowadays, just so you know. :)

  • @radicalcrash If the games are too dark and heavy, it might has well be an FF game. Hence 06. Some of the dialogue was kinda cheesy, but most of the time it was pretty funny. And besides, the story and dialogue wasn't the primary focus in Colours as much as the gameplay. A light story doesn't equal a shitty one, again 06.
