  • Love Frank but what party is acting like the communists now?

  • Republican party member = Communist party member .... not in principle but in practice ... awesome

  • Frank was wrong about one thing. The MPAA and the movie industry is very much a part of hte "candy coated dictatorship" Which he so eloquently described. Look at ACTA and SOPA.

  • I LOVE Frank. I don't like his music, but I respect the hell out of him. BUT...Frank, who always did a good job of cutting through the BS, bought into the Rep/Dem thing. To be direct, Dems are just as big as scum bags as Reps. The same corporate whores, the same, murderers, the same ripping off the US citizens, same job exporters, same bank supporters, same multi-millionaires, same sex trafficers, same enablers of US government in the drug trade. I don't know how he ever believed Dems were "good

  • @headlesssoldier You're right... it's all a parade. Like the WWF, they stand behind closed doors and choreograph the media agenda.

  • @headlesssoldier I am sure Frank would have caught onto what is really going on with the continuity of agenda throughout the "two" party system if he was around today. The sad thing is a lot of us all have caught onto it late; and, maybe more so, there are way too many people still totally blind to it (especially considering how blatant it is). All I can say is we have got to keep educating those lesser in tune. Mankind is soon in for dark days if people don't get it.

  • To the guy/gal that posted this: thank you a million thanks for this upload. Also, why the fuck are you using this to your own political aims? You should know better than to manipulate media devices such as these that, in content, dispel your subjective ends. You are the slime. Have a nice day.

  • @matazstec Huh! ? WTF r u talking about?

  • @iamgr80k that's just what I was thinking...

  • It's a candy coated dictatorship alright. Frank was so honest.

  • it seems like the pope is loosing its place to gov

  • @papaspride101 you're a few 100 years too late

  • @DeweyZinnChomskyFisk NO! some are religious about ruling our world ,,,thank for the point of viewzzzzzzzz

  • @papaspride101 the pope hasn't "ruled our world" for a very, very long time...

  • FF to today.."political correctness" has taken over. Nobody (especially 'Hollywood') talks about ANYTHING important. No speaking out about the murderous wars that killed millions. They are all controlled and remain silent collecting their $ buying mansions. Today's "artists" are castrated pantomime corporate pawns. No one like FZ around anymore. Nobody stimulating minds getting people to THINK, question things or dig deeper. One can only wonder how much worse it's gonna devolve another 10 years!

  • ...

  • Where the hell is Part 7?

  • @Dionysos37 It's called "Message to the Future."

  • It's too bad Frank wasn't around to see the Democrats and the state run Media that we have today. He would have freaked when they told him what he could and couldn't say in his music. Along with what he could eat or smoke or drive. Hilarious!

  • Interesting how the rise of the internet happened just as FZ passed away. What would he think of today's technology-dependent culture? What issues that he wrestles with here would he see resolved, and which exacerbated?

  • Democracy is one big fat lie. It's such utter and complete bullshit that not one its supporters actually believes in it. It's just a word people use because they think it somehow means something good, but it's undefined and undefinable. What it means in real life is that you will be ruled by people with guns. That's ALL it means. It means you are a slave and you will submit, but you will like it and think it's your choice because, after all, it's "democracy." What else is there?

  • the 1 dislikee person is a republican businessman

  • Whoever is interviewing him sucks

  • Zappa sounds like a belated AnCap!

    True Genius! RIP.

  • And you can't have a real democracy if the voting population's choice is narrowed down to corporatocracy/banker/warmonger hand-picked candydates fit to be become puppet Presidents. Ron Paul would make a great free-thinking President, but I'm afraid it won't happen.

  • The TRUTH scares the piss out of the liars.

    And all politicians are liars.

Democracy is a smokescreen to deceive the idiot Humans. 90%

Democracy says the opinion of 2 idiots is worth more than 1 genius.

And you wonder why we are in the gutter now.

  • Frank.I love you,you will be remembered, you said it didn't matter how or if people remembered you...but you knew everyone would! i think you meant that, you won't be here so in that respect it doesn't matter, your right! But you knew the world would continue without you and all your efforts and things you loved to do for money, fun whatever your art, your talent your attitude, your intelligence is loved by so many and will be remembered and honored and appreciated etc. for all time.Thank you!

  • I swear, sometimes I think Frank was a prophet. He was so ridiculously ahead of his time musically, politically, and the way he viewed life in general.

  • YT comments indicate that people think there was once a time when musicians like Zappa were played on radio. Ha! Maybe in LA or NYC, but not most places. Finally (late) they would play one Zappa song --Yellow Snow. There was no Dylan except Blowing/Wind, and no J Airplane except (bet you can guess)White Rabbit. It was a culture war and they were not about to play the music of the side they hated. They always choose wrong tee hee.

  • Great interview, thanks for posting this! But...No part 7????

  • from 4:28 onwards I am certain he is saying he knocked back an invitation from what conspiracy theorists call the illuminati

Invitation invites to top dinners with the important decision makers etc

  • @dancolyton well then you are an idiot, he clearly said it was for the republican party. You cant just jump to the conclusion that the card he says represented the republican party was actually, for certain, the illuminati instead. what makes you think this? and to be honest, if I ran a secret society, i would be pretty pissed off if I found out that someone was just sending membership cards out to famous people. kinda gives away the secret, right?

  • I have always been a very big Zappa fan dating back to the 70's but do not agree that one political party does business any differently than the other. I too believed what he did back then. My opinion has evolved to not trust either major political party. They are both corrupt, they just pander to different special interest groups that get favors back, in the form of taxpayer funded goodies. Both parties are taking us to the same place by different routes is my opinion.

  • @bertly71 I think he (at least partially) agrees with you and that is why he suggests he will be shredding his membership in the Democratic Party.

  • @pgoindi I understand what you are saying and tend to agree.

  • @bertly71 Amen

  • cool interview...the man on the ground always can tell you a little more than the man behind the desk.

  • Who runs this country? Lobbyists. If you don't think America is a corporate fascism, you're lying. Take a drive.

  • My last name is Valenti.

  • I'd love to see the rest of this aired all over the law schools and have just a great group of brilliant attorneys do what our forefathers did and wrestle our government back from the Neocon creeps and Wallstreet thieves!

  • If's too bad Frank's not around to experience Palin and the blatant manipulations of the various FOX talking heads. He would have had a field day dissecting them.

  • @SpencerSpats

As though Liberals/Progressives do not partake in prevarication and legerdemain.

Your naivete and predilection for demagoguery is positively astonishing.

Just another useful idiot trolling YouTube.

  • Glad that people still support Frank but don't use him to push your political views. You didn't know him and you have no clue which way he would vote today. Seriously. He is above most all of us and if you think he and you are the kindred spirits which vote, learn, and protest together- you oughta think again

  • How could he bring in a card he just made up ? Never has proof in ANY interview, but ALWAYS says this crap. EVERY Interview ....

  • I agree with Zappa's views on politics. Much as you might not like Obama, I don't think you're right about him talking about Obama. Mainly he detested the efforts to control the airwaves and specifically the religious right, which has grabbed hold of the Republican party. Essentially, he was a libertarian -- and not one of the fake libertarians who still persist in crusading for religious-right "moral" issues by turning a blind eye to the culture wars in which the government regulates privacy.

  • Zappa does a pretty good interview, but I can't help but think the interviewer really didn't draw him out enough... of course, being a writer and huge fan I'm here saying "ask him about the censorship of his third LP"... etc. :o)

  • He is correct, an uneducated democracy killed Socrates.

  • His statements from over ten years ago are being carried out today...

  • This has to be the best interview done by someone who didn't even take one note, let alone play one. Thanks for stopping in my channel

  • I heard this guy predicted cell phones.

  • once frank zappa had a gross out contest with alice cooper, look it up and you will puke

  • @x0nrx What are you talking about? Snopes and other search's say that is false.

You don't know FZ very well anyways it sounds like.

  • @x0nrx That is actually not true, he talks about it in his book.

  • He was smart, but very much a total asshole. Loved his music.

  • Where's Part 7/7?

  • i love how he says hes gonna shred his democrat status; lobbyist dont discriminate-theyll take anyone who will take their money..

  • It's scary how prescient so many of the things Frank Zappa says are!

  • Where's Zappa when we need him. Today's rock stars (I use that term VERY loosely) couldn't lick his boots.

I suppose we have to rely on Saint Bono for social comment, AAAAAAARRRHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

  • Brilliant point at 3:00

  • sorry if someone already said this but does anyone know the year of this?

  • I like Frank's approach to politics. He was open minded and seemed to be able to see more than one point of view, and he wasn't bragging or trying to impress with his thoughts either. And he wasn't a hater-fundementalist type either, he viewed things independantly where most people would filter everything through their ideology.

Modern day politics is like religion, and I hate that.

  • Probably already stated, but we don't live in a democracy but a Constitutional Repulbic

  • @hpw59 "Constitutional Republic" is a recent replacement for the phrase "democratic republic," a republic where our leaders are nominally chosen by citizens and who govern with their consent, although historically these elections have been manipulated in various ways. In the interview, FZ does not make a claim that this is a democratic state -- he is talking about democracy as a concept and an ideal.

  • Check out Terence Mckenna if you like Frank.

  • I bet the internet boom would have exploded his head

  • All the talk about democracy pains me because it reminds me of how we've all been brainwashed, even FZ. The United States is not a democracy, it never was and wasn't set up to be one. It is a Constitutional Republic which is much better and what made it such a great country. And it's all being thrown away.

  • OMFG This guy is so right.

    I miss ya man.

  • Knowledge is power... if you dont die from knowing the truth first.

  • There is a YT video on here with him and Dweezil on MTV, in reference to a video showing someone hanging themselves Zappa says :

"Kids, don't try this at home. Unless you are a Republican, in which case you should try it every morning."

He was a registered Democrat, supported the Democratic Party, and his wife is a big donor to and delegate for the Democrats.

  • Zappa was an issue/agenda person... he believed in Capitalism but he also believed in social programs... he stood for secular humanism and the separation of church/state... he believed in free speech... he believed Corporations are a threat to Democracy... he spent his entire career trashing the Republican party."

  • I've come to the conclusion that there's only one party in this country and it's divided into two parts: Republicans and Republican wannabes. Republicans stand for evil, corruption, manipulation, greed - everything that Americans think is okay after being conditioned to it during the 80's... The Democrats have no agend...a, and when they speak on any topic, they want to sound as Republican as possible... - FZ

  • I love how he quotes Noam Chomsky.

  • He does? where :)

  • :44 "The Emperor isn't wearing any clothes."

  • "Obama's appointing qualified people, not his buddies! "

Qualified Marxists and Maoists; to even mention Obama in the same sentence as Zappa is an insult to the memory of Frank Zappa.

Frank Zappa believed in freedom, of individual rights, and if you follow the Zappa family trust, the right to own ones own property. Frank was the real deal.

Obama is a fake made by the media.

  • Fantastic videos- Zappa is a genius.

Regarding Obama's election: absolutely. He manipulated the media power system like every other successful politician. It's a necessary evil.

The big difference: Didn't you hear Zappa's critiques of cronyism in the Bush Sr. administration? Obama's appointing qualified people, not his buddies! This alone gives me much more confidence in Obama than Bush Sr. (or Bush Jr., for that matter, who did the same thing, to greater excess).

    Thoughts? Comments? Hit me.

  • I do have some doubts about his religious science adviser what ever his name is. anyone got more info on this ?

  • His name is Francis Collins. He has been credited with the discovery of the Human Genome. He has a Phd. from Yale in physical chemistry, and an M.D. from UNC Chapel Hill. Hope that helps.

  • yes thats the fella thanks, something of an odd ball in the scientific community, to do all that great work only to revert to a belief in nonsense !

    quite sad really

  • Actually, he was a believer before the genome project. Wiki has an interesting overview of his beliefs. He rejects creation science, which is unusual.

  • didn't he get well for a while and then had a relapse ?

he was indoctrinated from a young age, the bastards got to him young enough for his brain to become religiously hard wired and the poor cunt just couldn't shake it off. shame there isn't a tablet one could take for it

  • What qualified people are you talking about? Most of the people in Obama's cabinet are from the banking industry.

  • @fiddlercrab3 Qualified People? Are you serious? Obama is a monstrosity of a President and an even WORSE HUMAN BEING. Read jumpbackon's comment above for more. ZAPPA RULES AND LONG LIVE THE REPUBLIC.

  • @breedsauce101 He's definitely not a bad human being. How you could get that I have no idea.

  • @fiddlercrab3 Because he is being disingenuous and deceitful to us and because of who he is placing around him, Are you really trying to convince me that Obama is a good human being? He is a combination of a fascist and a socialist, I know opposite ends of the spectrum right? But if you look at his actions and see that he has nationalized the banks, health care and motor ind. and appointed total socialists AND he bailed out his wall street buddies and is a puppet of the corporations A FASCIST.

  • We can never win with these creeps Frank

  • Artistic people a threat to the establishment?Don't you mean puppets of the establishment Frank?

  • in his time they really were a threat. nowadays, the establishment has taken control of mass marketing and uplifted un-artistic ppl as artists. but those of us in the know realize that those people arent truely artistic at all; but are just puppets. the true artists are in the underground these days. :)

  • Finally! Someone who publically said wha I have always contested about Democracy. You can't have a true democracy with a bunch of "ignorant" people. Unfortunately the US has become so "ignorant" and doesn't even know what a democracy is! Edward Bernays sure did a great job on "America" and now it is becoming a global phenomena. Poor us.

  • but the governments create ignorance by not telling us what we need to know...

i believe that even a minimun educated person can make a right choise, IF the news and election candidates just give the real and relevant information about their politics...

  • But the news and the government are controlled by corporations. In addition people's choices of life styles also influence their ignorance. You have freedom of choice that is "guided" by MASS media, a brainwashing technique that leads you to beleieve that your are making your own choice while in reality those choices are influenced by the media.

  • Thx niles lesh great series raw and true never forget Frank Zappa... his music is sometime confusing, but Frank makes sense

  • fz is right....about almost everything. I wish I could spend a day in his mind.

  • Frank Zappa was absolutely right, people who deliberately call him paranoid are the people who don't want to see the world for what it really is.

Frank lived his own live without censoring himself and without compramise, in other words a good life and the life we should all have. Take a look at Britain's laws then look at this video again and tell me that has wrong; do that and I'll be impressed there's anyone that brainwashed.

  • no statue necessary. buy some books written by zappa and give them to your local library. they still can't refuse to shelve them.. do the same with his cd's. really. how would zappa like to be remembered? "doesn't matter." - fz in his own words. educate! for free

  • Zappa needs a statue or something. The man should be a national hero. Americans, get your act together!

  • He does have a statue, somewhere in Lithuania. He has a street named after him in Berlin too i think.

  • So you're a communist? Pro-dictatorship?

  • Democracy states that any one person has the right of free speech. The moment that a person speaks out against the government directly in America, germany, the slime-pit england that I live in or wherever, they are imeadiatly either arrested, or interrogated for 'suspected anti-governmental activities'.

Therefore, democracy does not exist in these places, and I find it hard to beleive it does anywhere.

People need to be more accepting of individual freedom like frank was.

  • If you want true freedom you need something like a Constitutional Republic which is what we are supposed to have in America

  • pfff..... The founding fathers of the "constitutional republic" were un-elected slave and property owners who condoned the killing of the Native Americans and stealing land from the Mexicans. Every type of nation and sovereignty was built on autocratic bullshit!

  • "Artistic people have always been a threatening force to those who are dictators" - Frank Zappa 1991 Lost Interview (6-7)

  • @bukhavul The threat that artists present to totalitarian governments is the threat of exposure. Governments use a media filtering system to limit the amount of access that the general masses have to artist's work, things like criticism, rating sytems and censorship are the only weapon the government needs. If the artists were eliminated completely then the masses would be alerted to the true nature of the totalitarian government

  • @TheNilesLeshProject

    I very much agree.

  • @bukhavul

And somehow that's contrary to the facts? Tell me this then - why is it that the most celebrated artists always get killed in some inconceivable way...

  • Comment removed

  • @bukhavul, i feel sorry for U. some atists were kill for to exposed the truth... but U have no clue about it....

  • @bukhavul Al quaida is a group too you know. And they exist does they not?

Maybe they are not highly skilled musicians, but who cares. They had supporters enough to get attention in media right? Someone drives plains in skyscrapers others plays guitars in a rock group. There are more links between all the things in media then you have thought about. There is always a system containing politics and religion who tells you what you should fear.

  • @bukhavul four letters and two words for you: P.M.R.C. and HEAVY METAL!

  • @bukhavul You moron, in this day and age governments can't just go on a genocide spree. Curtailing freedom of speech is a little more subtle nowadays

  • No he is very right, you have to do some research on the things he says

  • No I did research for days on a lot of political things and if you did research you wouldn't think he's wrong.

  • Paranoia can be defined in some cases as knowledge observed by the uninformed. Everything Frank said has transpired, if anything, his perceptions fall a little short of the extent.

  • @Pighood Paranoid Whack Job? He was far from that. Either you are not paying attention to what is happening around you or you have drank the Kool Aid.

  • @breedsauce101 What flavor do you have?

  • @Pighood I prefer Grape while others are partial to Super Duper Cherry. Seriously though What makes you call him a "paranoid whack job"?

  • @Pighood Sorry, everything he says is 100% spot on. You are apparently the kind of blind follower who he talks about very presciently.

  • @pretorious700 Prove it.

  • This is Zappa's opinion. We all have different opinions.

  • I'm downloading this.

  • Frank Zappa missed the point. Democracy is not the problem it is the ignorance of Liberty. Blaming democracy is like blaming gravity for airplane crashes. In any form of democracy the populist dogma becomes the norm and if that dogma is: Sharia law, some party's agenda, or a cult figure, then - the rest is history. For those who are US citizens and would like to preserve their Liberty you must demand the study of Americanism in K through 12!

    Gook Luck.

  • I don't think he was necessarily blaming democracy itself. I think he was saying that democracy is essentially useless BECAUSE of the massive amount of ignorance.

  • He doesn't blame democracy he states that the United States was moving away from a democracy towards a candy coated dictatorship.

  • Holy shit he is awesome when it comes to education and voting

  • there is artist named Rambo Amadeus.

He has similar views on education like mr. Zappa.

Also he has similar musical language.

  • This Man is comparable to

    Einstein.

    Frank Zappa forever.

  • funny... I just thought that he looks LITTTLE like him or át least brings him to my mind somehow

  • "Frank shows prescience in describing what was the Obama campaign's masterful manipulation of the media."

    You said it!

FZ would've loved the internet -- too bad he missed it.

  • P.S. - Thanks for posting this interview! :-)

  • Thanks for posting these! They are new to me.

  • Where's the 7th part?

  • why arent people watchin this?

  • This interview had about 10,000 views when it was originally posted under my Nwrhino account.

That account was suspended, so maybe people have already downloaded, but I enjoy revisiting it as it is the most honest interview I have seen

  • More views of this video please. I cant believe only 611 views!

Frank was the man who put it intelligently and clearly.

We still have John Trudell and people like him.

  • Boy do we need guys like this today...

  • You want a fucking medal?

  • Sure.

  • good job adding the ck to your name. Nice iq....., i didn't know people who can use youtube can also have an iq of less than 95....

haha jk, Frank Zappa was a genius tho, he deserves a medal.

  • ...yeah... yeah. I'm aware my name is cut off but it was a good name and that's the character limit youtube allows so I just decided to leave it.
