lol your accent, are you Haitian ? I am and i read in one of you responses that you grew up around the Caribbean, the accent just sounds a little familiar to me. Cute video by the way !
@SexyVelour So your French cool, I've always wanted to learn the language of love but my mom gave up on teaching me lol but to say Haitian accents are VERY different is a slight over- exaggeration. Yes two different languages but after all Haitians- Creole is a derivative of French. We were colonized by the French until 1804, so the French language is extremely influential on our own :)
@yeahURR No, no...I'm not French or Haitian and I can't speak French. I was saying that Haitians speak French Creole, so the accent is different from many of the other Caribbean islands, including mine, which speak English Creole. :)
@dynastimsacrew That's my hubby and I, lol. I didn't think my accent was that strong, even though people I come across in real life always ask me where I'm from, lol. I was born in the U.S. but my parents are Caribbean and I grew up around a lot of Caribbeans. He's Italian and mixed with French and British...but he has more of a local accent because people of German descent in his area speak the same way, too. I might take this video down, if he lets me put up our wedding video.
@twinsgemini123 Thanks, but we've been loving for 9 years and now we're married. Those people on YouTube who make silly threats because I have an interracial channel definitely don't interfere with my happiness or our relationship at all. Thanks for the encouragement, though. :)
Everytime you giggled you made me do the same, lol.
I'm glad to hear that you two love and respect one another and will be tying the knot soon. I've been married to my husband for twenty eight years come April of this year. So I know that love does conquer all.
I knew about this video but I didn't have the chance to watch it. Now I'm somewhere outsite, it's too much light here so I can't see clearly the screen, I can only hear you. How old had you been when you made this video?
I made the video just a few months ago. I didn't know you could tell in this video that I have a child's voice (lol no one mentioned it), but I'm an adult. I promise. :p I'm going to get voice training so that my voice can command more respect when I need it to (for my career). I like them as they are, but I know I don't get taken seriously a lot of the time for that reason, especially on the phone.
Yes, marriage is never easy and requires dedication and hard work. We both believe marriage is forever, and are against divorcing.
We've been together 8 years and were compatible from the time we met. Interracial has always been a non-issue for us. We just see it as skin color and culture. Color doesn't matter and cultures can be blended easily to create a newer richer one. We plan to blend my Black Caribbean culture with his 3 European ones.
@NappturalDancer2K10 Thanks. :) We kind of "grew together." We were young, going to school and/or getting ourselves financially stable in our careers so we could get married.
I'll be ok, thanks for your concern. Some men on YouTube (Black Hebrew Israelites, BlackMenVent) aren't quite stable and quite a few live in my city so I take the necessary precautions.
It's never a good idea to have an online identity on which you express any opinion at all closely tied to real life, particularly in some fields.
this video is really adorable- through your nervous laughter due to being on camera for the first time you guys are still obviously so much in love ...good luck you two!
LOL, we'll post another video soon where I show my engagement ring. I can't promise I won't laugh, ha. I'll try though. I always find something to laugh or smile about...especially when I'm with him. ^_^ Sometimes I'm just silly or having a good time.
well i think thats the best kind of love- after 8 years at least i would love for the guy im with (wherever he may be lol) to still make me laugh- that would be wonderful!
you are blessed and he is too.
its ok you can take your time with the vid- enjoy your man girl! lol
I cant believe you get death threats!!! what a bunch of saddos I really hope you and your man live a long and healthy live....ohh and good luck with your career love
Thanks for the well wishes. I'm sure we'll live long and prosper. No question.
Yeah, a lot of crazies on YouTube. I'll be ok though. I don't live my life in fear of goons online...but I don't put my image up either. No use drawing unnecessary trouble. Some of them live in my city, but don't live right in the area I do. I avoid ghettos when I'm out. My fiance is predisposed to take care of me and of himself should the need arise, and I am predisposed to do the same.
It will be a smaller, intimate wedding with family, friends and relatives...but we're going all out to have the wedding of our dreams! I'll post a wedding video on YouTube.
Very cute video, what happened to your heads,LOL, it got cut off in the video. The video was awesome though, very sweet and loving. It would be nice if you make another video like this so we can all see your lovely faces,LOL.
That was intentional. I'm going into a high profile career so I just don't show my face online, including posting photos. Also, I get death threats from nutty males on here angry over the fact that I dare to show that Black women have options when it comes to dating and relationships. My YouTube block list has well over 200 slots occupied.
Oh okay, that explains everything,LOL. Yeah, just ignore all the haters, it is wonderful that you are in a relationship that makes you happy. I think interracial relationships are awesome. I like your videos. Take care. God bless.
Good Luck. Thanks for not bashing us.(black men) I know a lot of the US's history and for that reason I will only choose to put my love and energy into black women. but it is a personal choice. I hope it works out and that you always maintain pride in your black heritage.
Thanks. We've known each other for almost 8 years. It's hard to put the finger on the exact moment a relationship happened because we always felt physically and emotionally attracted to each other and it was heading to that point from the moment we met. At some point friendship naturally developed into romance. We just had to overcome our fears...fears that our families would reject us. My family didn't approve of IR at first even though my sister did it, lol, and
his family actually used to threaten him growing up that he'd be disowned if he ever married interracially. At some point we knew we had to be together no matter what. No matter what family or anyone else thought, said, did...whatever. :) Still, our families loved us enough to put our happiness ahead of whatever irrational convictions they held. His family loved me as soon as they met me, lol. My fiance is like part of my family, too. :)
Been there done that ! The whole family issue... Actually for me ... My family loved him still do! My mom hopes we will still get married after yrs & yrs of being broken up! You know how moms are? Anyways his family flip out! Something friece! His MOM was the bigger problem and he was a mama boy after a couple yrs I couldn't take it no more! She was so disrespect to my family and me. I end up broken off our IR. But I am glad to see that everything wrkin out for u and your man. Ppl think IR
are cool and fun ( I had some grl at wrk tell me this...) But it's hard wrk to maintain that IR when feels like you got the world against it. So stay strong and always put your love and respect for each other first. If u guys got that then nonething else matters.
Sorry to hear...I guess your ex wasn't ready for a relationship if he put his mother first. For a IR, especially, they must be emotionally independent, not mama's boys. I live in a liberal area of a liberal city so we've never felt as if the world was against it. Mainly we get stares & glares from BM (who sometimes mumble rude things) & elderly WW. Some young WW give me the onceover. I don't let those things bother me anymore. Most of the time we don't
even notice it now because we're too busy paying attention to each other or whatever we're doing together. We get as many friendly or knowing smiles and grins from others to make up for it & I remember those more and not dwell on the negative.
If you both truly love each other and know you want to spend your lives together, the relationship comes before all else. Getting through the hard times together will bring you closer and strengthen your bond. Like a rock in the storm. :)
Mothers are usually the problem in relationships of any type...those evil mother-in-laws, lol (kidding). My mother is overbearing and so is his...they'd poke their nose in, run our relationship, decide our lives, handle our finances, raise our children...that's why after marriage we'll live just far enough from both families that they can't visit everyday, lol.
Thanks for the encouragement. Good luck finding your Prince. ;-)
When Black men first dated White women it was that way, now its more common for me to see Black man/White woman than actually Black couples, I get shocked when I see folks together.
I guess Im light skin or tan like Halle Berry an I have long hair, so their not sure. They ask if Im italian..Puerro Rican ow whatever...never Black. I think its the accent, the look and folks strerotypes.
Just keep on no matter what. Your very talented, your attractive, keep moving and God will bless you.
lol... who's the idiot behind the camera?he has cut your heads off. Do I hear accents? I respect all people in this world except the French, I HATE the French.
LOL...the head thing was intentional. My career path winds into the public eye so I never put my face online...and also, there are some people who find my channel upsetting enough that they send me threats.
We're both American and from different cities in the same state. He has his local accent and I guess I must have gotten the Caribbean accent of my parents, other relatives, and their acquaintances, who I was surrounded by...
I disable the ratings on my videos because each time I started noticing in the videos' stats that they were being embedded over on BlackMenVent, and right after that happened the ratings would take a mysterious dive.
Hi, SexyVelour. Thank you for sharing this video of you and your fiance. After seeing your wonderful videos, I wondered about your real life situation.
You seem happy and your fiance sweet and kind. I look forward to sharing my story with viewers...as soon as I meet that special Prince and establish a relationship too.
I'm sure your Prince will come, and we're all looking forward to hearing your story when he does! :) Thanks for the well wishes, and I'm happy you enjoyed my video.
Aww!! This is the SWEETEST video, ever. The love between you two transcends the obscurity of your faces. Perhaps that was your point? Ah, Sexy Velour, you're brilliant as always. *favorited*
yeah we have a video!!! Great video you two sound very genuine. I must say you have that beutiful Carribean accent that just charms any man. Looks like your fiance just woke up looks like pajama pants and a regular tshirt. Love it love it
Thanks, NAV130Vet, that's sweet of you to say. You're such a gentleman. :) He got ready for bed and then I had to tell him, "Hey...we're supposed to be making a video." He tried to hide his pajamas by putting my leg over his, lol, but it didn't work too well.
We plan to have four babies. The first one will be a girl, of course, and at least one of the others will be too. We've known each other for over 7 years now, but the relationship wasn't always romantic. I knew the first time we talked alone that we would make a good match and by a few months later I knew we were the perfect pair and it was meant to be. :) We're both improved versions of ourselves for having met...
Awr ur so cute. You voice is like mine D: Im british but my accent is sorta mixed with a barbados accent cause thats where I was born. But my voice sounds werid when I record lol
My parents, relatives, and a lot of my parents friends and acquaintances were all from the same Caribbean country so that's probably how I get an accent. My voice sounds different in recording than it does in real life, too. In real life it's even teenier than this. I rarely get taken seriously when I'm asserting myself. Those guys who hit on Black women never want to take no for an answer unless you can sound mean enough!! Ugh, the stories I could tell. That's life in the city, right?
Omg really? me too! I hate my voice. Im going into bussiness too. So... im kinda stuck lol My voice sounds really young and childish. I know im 18, but its even more childish that an 18 year old lol :(
My voice used to bother me when I was in my late teens/early 20s & callers were asking for my parents. I also look 5-7 years younger than I am. I don't correct people when they make that mistake now; I just smile. ;-) Gloryus is right...as we get older we'll appreciate those things more. My career path requires assertiveness & public speaking, too. If we take voice training we can perform as we need to in our careers but we should love & embrace what makes us uniquely us. :)
Thanks. :) A lot of people tell me I have a foreign accent, so I guess I do, lol. I don't know why though, since I was born and raised in the U.S. I get asked where I'm from all the time. I know I have a young-sounding voice, too, though you can only somewhat tell here. On the phone I get mistaken for a child sometimes, lol.
Aww! That is so cute! I love the accent as well! Got any twins hiding around somewhere looking for a white guy to date? LOL! Very nice video! Congratulations!
I did it again! I have no idea why I keep accidentally deleting your comment where you suggest the name for the video. :( Heh, now I feel like a dork x 2. I don't know if I should even ask you to post it a third time, but you can. LOL, in any case I want everyone to know that the suggestion was yours and that I loved it. :)
My only sister is married, sorry. She's actually twice my age and believe it or not...her husband is White, too. You'll meet the Black woman of your dreams soon. :)
Ok, kwi49nct, I gave you credit over on the sidebar now, so we don't have to worry about my clumsy little fingers deleting it a third time, lol. Once again, I loved the suggestion and thanks a lot.
You're not a dork! You're a sweetie. I don't crave fame, but thanks for the plug anyway. Too bad about your sister being taken. My loss I'm sure. Honestly, it's ok if my future gal is black, white, asian, or whatever, I'm just learning how open I can be to ALL the beauty that's out there! I just happen to find a lot of beauty in black women both physically and spiritually. Who knows? I'm letting God sort it all out.
There's beauty in all women. Men too. :) My fiance was mainly attracted to Black & White women. Now the scales have shifted way off balance because when you're in a relationship with someone for so long it's harder to see yourself with someone who doesn't look similar & share their thought process & mannerisms, especially when that person is the first true love of your life. Plus he says he's been spoiled by the curves and the softness of brown skin...LOL. ^-^
aww so sweet, your accent is very nice too ^^. i must admit i would've thought john would have a deeper voice but he's from essex so thats the penalty he must suffer MUWHAHAHAHAHA! ^^
a title? well fraid nothing good comes to mind, but i'm sure you'll think of something good ^^. i really hope you make more of these Velour.
ooops my bad...man i'm such an idiot. but in my defense i had been up for over 24 hours lol
anywyas, it was an awesome vid and i hope you make more ^^. i guess its cause we couldnt see your faces that i got confuzzled LOL. anyways nice work once again ^^
Hey buddy!! Ah, this is the lovely SexyVelour and her future hubby. Maybe John and I will make a vid when he comes home. That'll be a riot and a half. LOL!
Your fiance and mine only really resemble one another in that both have those magical hazel eyes that change color to match the the mood of the moment. :)

Much love and success to you both!

I'm sure your Prince will come, and we're all looking forward to hearing your story when he does! :) Thanks for the well wishes, and I'm happy you enjoyed my video.

Thanks, NAV130Vet, that's sweet of you to say. You're such a gentleman. :) He got ready for bed and then I had to tell him, "Hey...we're supposed to be making a video." He tried to hide his pajamas by putting my leg over his, lol, but it didn't work too well.

great vid! I'm so happy for the two of you. How did you two meet and what are your plans for kids?
MiloandDaisy113 2 years ago 2
We plan to have four babies. The first one will be a girl, of course, and at least one of the others will be too. We've known each other for over 7 years now, but the relationship wasn't always romantic. I knew the first time we talked alone that we would make a good match and by a few months later I knew we were the perfect pair and it was meant to be. :) We're both improved versions of ourselves for having met...

Awr ur so cute. You voice is like mine D: Im british but my accent is sorta mixed with a barbados accent cause thats where I was born. But my voice sounds werid when I record lol
Kitkatkis 2 years ago
My parents, relatives, and a lot of my parents friends and acquaintances were all from the same Caribbean country so that's probably how I get an accent. My voice sounds different in recording than it does in real life, too. In real life it's even teenier than this. I rarely get taken seriously when I'm asserting myself. Those guys who hit on Black women never want to take no for an answer unless you can sound mean enough!! Ugh, the stories I could tell. That's life in the city, right?
SexyVelour 2 years ago
Omg really? me too! I hate my voice. Im going into bussiness too. So... im kinda stuck lol My voice sounds really young and childish. I know im 18, but its even more childish that an 18 year old lol :(
Kitkatkis 2 years ago
My voice used to bother me when I was in my late teens/early 20s & callers were asking for my parents. I also look 5-7 years younger than I am. I don't correct people when they make that mistake now; I just smile. ;-) Gloryus is right...as we get older we'll appreciate those things more. My career path requires assertiveness & public speaking, too. If we take voice training we can perform as we need to in our careers but we should love & embrace what makes us uniquely us. :)
SexyVelour 2 years ago

SexyVelour 2 years ago
Ok, kwi49nct, I gave you credit over on the sidebar now, so we don't have to worry about my clumsy little fingers deleting it a third time, lol. Once again, I loved the suggestion and thanks a lot.
SexyVelour 2 years ago
You're not a dork! You're a sweetie. I don't crave fame, but thanks for the plug anyway. Too bad about your sister being taken. My loss I'm sure. Honestly, it's ok if my future gal is black, white, asian, or whatever, I'm just learning how open I can be to ALL the beauty that's out there! I just happen to find a lot of beauty in black women both physically and spiritually. Who knows? I'm letting God sort it all out.
kwi49nct 2 years ago 2
"I'm letting God sort it all out."
That's usually the best way to do it. Even when you don't think He's involved, you find out later that He was all along.
TonyN737 2 years ago 3
There's beauty in all women. Men too. :) My fiance was mainly attracted to Black & White women. Now the scales have shifted way off balance because when you're in a relationship with someone for so long it's harder to see yourself with someone who doesn't look similar & share their thought process & mannerisms, especially when that person is the first true love of your life. Plus he says he's been spoiled by the curves and the softness of brown skin...LOL. ^-^
SexyVelour 2 years ago
Also, thanks, you're pretty special and sweet yourself and I know that in time you'll meet someone deserving of you.

"spoiled by the curves and the softness of brown skin...LOL. ^-^ "
Stop! You're being a tease now! LOL!
"Also, thanks, you're pretty special and sweet yourself and I know that in time you'll meet someone deserving of you."
I do appreciate those comments. Thank you!
