Joe Bannister's attorney Bernhoft is a known tax fraud proponent. In 1999, he was permanently enjoined from
promoting his "De-Taxing America Program" tax protester scheme. United States v. Robert R. Raymond
The district court concluded that the "De-Taxing America" program contained false statements and false advice concerning the federal income tax.
