@fred1671 2 strokes are allowed in national and supercross. look up the outdoor results of this year. if they truly were better the factory teams would use them. theres a reason that a 250 2 stroke in the 250 class cant get pass 7th place the whole year when apparently to 2 stroke dick riders say a 250 2 choke can beat a 450

@cycygrace I never said anything about racing the 250cc in the 450cc class... I know the 250 2Stroke would be hard-pressed to hang with anyone decent on a new 450F. My point was and still is... let's see how a new 490cc - 500cc Stroke stacks up against the 450F. My hard-core riding faded in the late 90's, but I rode some of the most powerful bikes of that era - and I have ridden a newer 450F - but I still claim the big bore beasts of the 90's will crush a 450F with a factory rider on board.

what a fcuking load of rubbish, I have a kx 250 2005 thats right, TWO srtoke!, ported, vforce reed valve, and pro circuit pipe, and I tell you, this 450f doesnt stand a chance, at least not in a mx or sx track, and @cycygrace the reason AMA and FMI use 4 strokes is because EPA asked them to.

besides 4 strokes arent fun to ride, Two stroke IS motocross!

@cycygrace hahah I used to ride a cr500... this is kids stuf, seriously mate, Ive talked with pro mechanics and mx coaches(such as european mx champions), and whenever they talk about 2 strokes they do it n such a nostalgic way, and that's where you realize that the 4 stroke cant compare with 2 stroke because of the FACT that it takes twice the time to complete the cycle! and fyi factory teams dont use 2 strokes bc they get paid to promote the 4strk, so people buy them and spend fortunes n parts

@28motoxxx Only due to their exceptionally high grearing and rpm range. And we know there's not a 4Stroke on the track that can hang with any widow-maker - the true 500cc beasts of this planet!

I still ride a '94 YZ 250 and I would never give up my 2Stroke for any new bike~

if it were me i would go with kawasaki because they accully put there money in there motors buy ktm is a nice bike i never riden one. Honda they have a problem with there motors when they bike gets hot and u stall it on the track you will never get it started back up again
