Sorry to hear about your brother, never met him but seems to be a real nice guy, nice ride seems like he really new what he was doing when it came to buicks...Awesome job do you still have the car????
very fond memories from 1977, wow was I lucky getting a five year old GS. Only thing missing was ''pass the joint'' and the hardest thing was keeping rubber on the car.
Very nice car and I agree with keeping it factory color because when you have an old car it should be kept fairly original I think. I have a Buick Skylark Custom that I just got in October and I kinda wish is it was factory color depending on what the factory color was. Skylarks are very sharp looking cars and good bit of get up and go with that Buick 350.
Grandpa? We called them "Sleepers". You have no idea how much money you could make running red light to red light with a sleeper. You get laughed at cuz you look stock & slow. His passenger gets in with you, complete with both drivers money in his hand, & away you go. When you are first to the next set of lights you take his money & kick him out. Grandpa my ass...
I guess I'm the only person who likes the brown color. It's not like, dog-poo brown, it's kind of a golden cinnamon brown. Oh, and I'm sorry to hear about your brother. Whatever happened to the car if you don't mind me asking?
I met Andy at a cruise in and actually sat in this car. I'm just a little wider than he was and let me tell you, Those seats really grab you once you get in them. What did the family do with the car? The last time I saw him was after the Speedway spectacular show in about 2002 I believe. I had his number and called him and he came and met several of usat the after show cruise at the mall across the street. I was saddened to hear of his passing. Godspeed Andy
I know you cherish this video. I have a 71 conv. skylark 350-2 its pretty quick but I realy want that 09-2010 challenger srt8. I'm trying to sell mine and I'm catching hell! Its all original numbers matching and I got all five buick rallys. Do you think 10k is to much? look at my videos, its the 10 mim one.
Hey there, It's tough to tell from a video what your car is worth but being a convertible it's worth at least 7k if it's in really good shape. The market for classic cars is a bit haywire right now due to the economy so all you can do it list it and see what happens.
I met Andy in Ormond Beach after the speeday spectacular car show in about 2001 or 2. I've sat my much wider bottom in that car and it was cool. Fit like a glove. Andy preferred the handling aspect of newer cars so the Skylark had duraluminum bushings in the front and rear and giant by huge anti sway bars on it. Don't let the 3.08 gears fool you. The deep 1st gear of the DN 5 speed made it almost equivalent to a 3.73 and with the 1.1 5th gear it was almost overdrive for cruising. Godspeed Andy
I'm getting ready to buy a 350 Buick motor to put in my 85 Cutlass. The longest stroke of all the gm small blocks. I'm afraid it might burn up my 200r4 transmission lol.
the torque of the 350 will not burn up the 200R4, that one is a lil toughter than the 200. The 200R4 is used in the Monte Carlo SS, Grandnational,Caprice and alot of other G body Cars.
what was up with flipping the switch at :28?

Awesome Buick, reminds me of my old '72. Sorry about your brother....
barron267 3 weeks ago
Sweet. I might be getting a 72 myself. It's funny in 71 and 72 the Chevelle got uglier and less desirable, but the Skylark improved.

That car is real tight! I like the contrast of the stock looking body with theose wheels. Is it a GS or did he add the GS hood?

It originally had a turbo 350. My brother converted it to a Doug Nash 5 speed manual. There was nothing he couldn't do with a car.
