Is a booster the same as bleach? Might be a dumb question but I felt dumb asking for a booster in Sally's and she tells me, "they call it a booster but it's really bleach."

@nstiNctiVnatur LOL no its not a dumb question and its not bleach. the booster is just an extra boost of the color. bleach takes color out. the booster adds more color to it. thats why it comes in reds, oranges, yellows, blues and etc. that gives me more of the red or the orange i like. so its not bleach or i wouldn't use it. :)

@timeless617 Hey, I know this question wasnt for me, but I believe she used a permenant for the top, Copper Copper, with a red copper booster, with a 30 v developer. Also, I believe its permenant because she pulled it all the way from roots to tips. Her top hair is black and uncolored, so a semi permenant would not have pulled as copper because it would not have been fully penetrating the shaft.

The store bought color I've used that works great for me and other naturals I've recommended it to is CLAIROL TEXTURES & TONES. Everyone's hair is different of course, but no one I know has had an issue with it. Good luck to anyone who's been inspired to dye! :)

@tishatrene i get my ideas either from me just thinking of it or when i see other peoples hair colored. more so white people. LOL i choose the color that i think will go well with my skin tone and i think the reds work well for me. the semi does as some point rinse out but not like a rinse. it will fade but all colors do so its not a real big deal
