if you keep turning the straightener whilst you go down the hair instead of just one turn at the top, the curls will be more curly from top to bottom xx

Hey Blaire,

The tighter you hold the flat iron, and the slower you move the tighter the curl will be.

I personally like to pull my hair to the side instead of down the way you do, it gives you a different, but very pretty curl. Try it sometime!

You have to rotate your straightener in 180 degrees, your not turning your straightener enough thats why the curls arent super curly.

Another way to keep your curls in all day is to scrunch themk with moose, not gell. But the moose withh keep your curls soft but then make them last all day long(: My friend does this when she curls her hair and they never fall out(:

If you continuously twirl the flat iron throughout the whole strand of hair, like you did at the ends of the hair, you might get a curlier result, and I find that it's a little easier for me this way :)

actually Blair, if your flat iron steams when you put it on your hair, its burning it and damaging it. so make sure to get your hair 100% dry before putting any heat on it! we learned about it in my cosmo class today, so i thought i'd share some advice with you! :)

if you want to have ringlet curls for a party or something one trick i use is after i curl a strand with my flat iron like you do... i wrap the strand back around the flat iron (on the outside) to set it and then release the curl and it is a much tighter curl... i cant figure out how to do it with a curling iron so that is what i do

I had the same problems with curling, I think you should go even slower though, especially when it comes to the hair closest to your roots and then the ends. Depending on the tightness of the curls you want. The slower you go, the more defined the curl will be. :)

i don't think that you can necessarily tell if someone's curled their hair with a flat iron. i always curl my hair with a flat iron, i don't have a curling iron and i always get questions asking how i did my hair and people are surprised that i did it with a flat iron. all you have to do is practice, i've used my flat iron to get nice curls and even loose waves :)
