Hi,

Metal tracks look , sound and feel more realistic. I use them so that the treads ware to a shiny surface (just like the real thing), it also makes my tank very heavy. Plastic ones will not do that. I would stick to the plastic tracks if they seem to run OK for you. I have Kenny Kong tracks on my Tamiya and this has lead to me having to upgrade everything else to handle them. Thay do seem pretty cool though.

Whats the differnce beetween Plastic and Metal tracks. I know metal tracks are better but I would like to know how much better they are then normal plastic ones and if plastic tracks can handel what a metal track can do. Thanks

@ chingersfriend i would not count on ALL the electronics fitting but the recoil units and the ir system should work but i wouldnt take the risk depending on how much of it u want to convert

Hi, the Tamiya has a flash simulator and a recoil unit. This makes for a very realistic firing simulation. The Heng Long is the only tank with a BB gun, but this may not be as robust as most people would like.

The Tamiya can be fitted with an IR battle system to allow tanks to fight each other. Cool!

@ChristopherSColes I have the battle system in my Tiger1, also in my Leopard2 A6... If you can find other owners with full option tanks you can have battles with them. I did go to one or two UK Tank meets & they have 1/16th tanks, as well as 1/4th & 1/6th scale monsters, they are the real deal.

Hi,

I think you could make the electronics work with bit of fiddling about. However, you may be able to pick up the Static Tamiya Tiger kit for about £100 with a bit of searching about on e-bay etc. Now that may also be a good option.

@MultiAREE Chris is correct with the swastika flag, Wehrmacht did that so their own aircraft could recognize from above...nice one Chris. A couple of homemade 200ltr fuel drums would look cool, Tiger only did about 120mls to a tank of fuel, 23ltr Maybach 230 engine was to blame...

bought my Heng Long Tiger & i seem 2 have jammed the turret as it does not rotate. As this i my 1st Tank, can you give me any tips on how to open the top so i can have a look?

Guy i bought it from says i have 2 unscrew 6 screws from the bottom but i think they are in behind the wheels & i don't really have a clue as to what i am doing, (lol)!!

Hi, there is a sound upgrade you can do, its provided by El-mod (do a Google). There is a cool video of modification in action on YouTube somewhere. It very expensive though. But it could be worth it

Its got metal tracks, sprockets and idlers. The wheels are plastic, the metal one's cost too much. 'I tunes' are welcome to advertise as they supplied the music.

The tanks in the garage at the moment as it is receiving a new control board (RX18), but it will be back again soon.

Hi Chris, I have the new RX-18 control boards in both my Tiger & Panzer 3 & they seem to have a more positive transferance of power to the motors but I found out that they do not like icey cold weather, I took mine out when it was very cold & icey & all it could do is a go stop, go stop motion, eventuaIy nothing would work, I think about 6,7,8 degrees is minimum running temparature, I had Both tanks out today, temparature about 10 derees & all was fine.
