I was raised in Ohio and Indiana by parents from Virginia. I worked to over come a southern accent. Now I wish I hadn't. I hope, what with the media reaching into every corner and clime, that the regional accents never get homogenized. That would be a sad day indeed. I was married to a New Yorker. Ah, this song "Christmas In Dixie" by Alabama takes me back! It was on a Tupperware Christmas compilation. A cassette tape. This was before the CD came out. I was making Pumpkin pies in the kitchen. My then baby boy Frankie was in his high chair watching Mom bake! I had this song playing. Christmas was coming. Everytime I hear this song it takes me back to that time! Just love this song!
