I can certainly understand what you mean when you explain how people tend to point to white folk and it tends to be a "crutch" or an excuse not to do anything about changing your own situation. Your experience and good fortune with "white folk" sounds almost as compelling as movies asuch as "The Blind Side". But I think it can be just as damaging to deny that a global system of racism and white supremacy doesn't exist either.

Most whitefolks didn't own slaves, but the benefit derived from America's ability to build the richest, most powerful nation on the planet, is enjoyed by most whitefolks, while being systematically denied to most Blacks. If your parents leave you a home with a debt owed on it, you're still obligated to pay that debt or forfeit that home, even though you didn't create the debt. Even if the debtor has died, and only his children remain. How willing are the "good" whitefolks to honor that debt.

Just because you're good to me, don't make you good. How your defined is based on what you did, what you're doing, and what you're willing to do.
