  • Thanks for this information!!! I was just reading the label of the conditioner I've been using for years and noticed they have started using cetearyl alcohol. I panicked!! Thank you!!

  • Thank you so much for that. I have been reading ingredients for days and when I see that I put it back on the shelf. Now I that I have some knowledge about it, I can widen my choice of products. Now I know why it;s in lotions too.

  • Thanks so much for sharing... I was so confused about this before. It is very important to know:)

  • I was doing research for the main ingredients in WEN hair care & I found your video. Very informative. I look forward to seeing what else you have to say...many thanks.

  • I just found that on the back of a face cream I use... very helpful, thanks!

  • Thank you for the informative video, I bought this for my hair "which is curly" and it seems to not be very drying on my hair which is a good thing.

  • omg I learned something new thanks for sharing.

  • to Booties4YourCutie: People should be allowed to express their opinion; this can give valuable feedback to the one recording the video. I don't like the way she is dressed either; but that doesn't mean I don't want to hear what she has to say. WE can learn from feedback whether its good or bad. RELAX

  • @dccuke valuable feedback is okay as long as it's done respectfully but whiteangel80 came off very mean. I think Whiteangel80 needs to RELAX instead of Booties4YourCutie. People on youtube can be so mean for no reason and we shouldn't condone meanness. I'm shocked you got on Booties instead of Angel. What is this world coming to! Again, I'm all about feedback as long as it's done respectfully.

  • thanks for the info, but i usually have to really dig to find out the truth about a product, I think the fact that it may be petroleum based as stated by one of your viewers is worth investigation. I make my own products and have found that it has been the safest option and have experience a lot of hair growth too.

  • Thank you! The problem with cetyl alcohol is its source, whether it is plant or petroleum base, unfortunately most hair/cosmetic products in the US are petro base. FDA approved but the EU has band petro base in its cosmetics! It will not be listed as a primary ingredient, when used only to emulsify a product. Cetyl is a primary ingredient in some non-sulfide shampoos/conditioners and gels-stiffener. Yields a false positive actually strips hair of natural moister/oils. Health-Indocrine System

  • thanks almost threw out my product

  • Very nice. I was wondering if anyone addresses these ingredients so I searched them on purpose. I actually wanted to make my own lotion and was looking up emulsifiers and saw that cetearyl alcohol was one. It basically allows ingredients that don't usually mix to mix like oil base and water base. Basically like in lotions and conditioners which are like 80 percent water

  • I read the same info from a beauty dictionary. Nothing new here. May I advise you to put more clothes on, you may end up looking more profesional.

  • @whiteangel80 thank you so much for your wonderful comment. youve added so much to the topic at hand. :/

  • thank you. i've noticed cetyl alcohol in many products and keep thinking that all alcohols are bad. i don't see where many people are addressing it on youtube. now i don't have to worry about it. i was ready to get rid of some product. :)

  • Very helpful information!

  • Thx 4 the information

  • Good information!!!!!!!!! May God bless you and keep you and give you peace today Beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
