Yes it's the Drop Shorts leemings jumpin into the keech again from a Sapper boat.

re, Lanyard, Crimea, Goonars ordered wrong ammo, So Abandoned the Gunline. The Sappers then rescued the guns and ammo. Result = Goonars had to wear the white lanyard and Ordnance Corps had to insert Big Balls and Little cannon into their cap badge.

Any Sappers don't sink in mud, They float and fight on it.

Lets clear this up. The Combat Support Boat was being operated by the Royal Engineers who advised against doing it but were ignored by the Royal Artilery crew who knew better and wanted some publicity footage!

This was during TELIC 2. The guys dropping off are RA, the Boat OP is RE. This was part of build up training to a raid on arms smuggling, I believe. All persons involved (RE & RA)alerted higher authority on numerous occasions of the unsuitability of the site. A case of lions led by f***ing donkeys, again.

Its a common rumour that the re got the lanyard from the RA, after their guns jammed they retreated and when the RE came across them they fixed them and fired them and won the battle, not sure when this took place or if there is any truth behind it but thats what we were taught in training. They used to make us do mud running down at Chepstow in the river seven mud flats, not fun.

During Crimean i think. RA gun positions were about to be over run by prussians so they did a legger. RE's took control of guns to thwart attack. Thats why we wear blue and RA wear white lanyard. Altho a functional item it's just worn decoratively now but i think its meant to be symbolic of a guns firing/pull cord.
