  • my hair eats moisture like crazy also great video! Love your locks!!!!

  • This is a great product. I've been using it now for about two years now, because I usually have very dry hair. Thanks for the video!

  • do you use it on wet or dry hair?

  • @SupahSuckahTv now I put it in a bottle and mix it with water....so basically on wet hair

  • Your hair is so pretty

  • @ForeverMissGina thank you

  • Thanks so much! I was just sitting here feeling my hair and thinking how the locs are so dry they feel like cheetos! Gonna pick some of this up and try it! thanks for the tip!

  • @proud2banurse lol...cheetos I know that feelin! welcome!

  • YES SISTA..DI SHEA BUTTER LEAVE IN CONDITIONER WORKS GREAT.. I LOVE IT..EVEN THOUGH I STILL USE DI REGULAR NATURAL OILS AND WATER MIXTURE AS WELL.AND YOUR LOCKS ARE GROWING AND LOOKING GREAT..ILL BE APPROACHING MY 2YR ANNIVERSARY IN AUGUST AND CANT WAIT..LOL

  • @blukat155 I can't wait for my 2 year mark either , and thank you =)

  • You are beautiful and your locks are wonderful! And yes I feel you on the dryness. My hair seems like it drinks whatever I put in there up!

  • @MsGrateful87 thank you!

  • Can you start your locs with Shea butter

  • @TheCynSpot I'm sure you can start them with shea butter

  • I feel like you made this video just because of my question so I feel special thank you

  • @SuperMacman55 lol, you're welcome

  • Thanks great video!

  • @gerraditowns thank you!

  • Love your vids. Keep up the good work!

  • @POSHDesigner thank you!

  • I still have some from when my hair was loose. I will give it a try.

  • @dyrt23 yeah definitely try it out

  • Yes oil is a mess on my locs and was on my loose hair as well. My hair doesn't tolerate them. I primarily use water-based products for moisture (which is real moisture - oils just coat or seal in moisture from water) and no oils at all.

  • @Spirited76 that's probably what I should do

  • @prettipoison27 you are so pretty :)

  • @pvb92 aww thank you =)

  • thank you!!

  • @vonsay1 you're welcome!

  • @goddessmarindy thank you. LOL yes I feel the same way when my locs are moisturized!

  • Thanks for sharing the info. Your locs look gorgeous! I've been using the organic cold pressed coconut oil, it can give you that oily feeling depending on how much you use, but it does moisturize very well. I will have to give the Cantu Shea Butter a try. Bless

  • @007babykeke thank you girly =) I think I may have used too much oil...

  • you're beautiful love the locs

  • @kgdesigner thank you

  • i think ill get this

  • @Fhenry =)

  • Hey! I love your locks. I'm about to start mine just like you did. I wanted to know how long did it take to twist your hair and how did you maintain that cute style that you started with? I wanted to inbox you but where is the link?

  • @vonsay1 thank you. i honestly don't remember how long it took me. it took a while though. I did the back one day and the front the next. I didn't really do anything to maintain the style lol...the link should be on my page somewhere...not exactly sure where at

  • I do not use any conditioner or oils. I Simply rinse with Acv after clarifying and then spray a 50/50 mix of aloe Vera juice and water. Yes hair feels a little drier first day but soon natural scalp oils kick in my hair feels amazing rest of the week. Really trying to keep it simple to avoid buildup with products. This is mu second loc journey and works far better.

  • @Nachural1 yeah it sounds like you won't be having any build up

  • i was just thinking the same thing this morning while washing my locs. i really don't like the feel of oil in my hair, it makes my hair feel hard when it dries. I thought about going back to using products i used when i was a loose natural. i know they say all natural products are better. i just don't like how they make my hair feel. i've used Olive oil, coconut oil and castor oil. i rather used what i used before those products made my hair feel soft.

  • @angie101972 i feel the same way

  • Do you experince itchiness shortly after retwisting? As I was unsure if my scalp was too dry (I live in Colorado) or too dirty, I tried the ACV wash to see if I used more than clarfying shampoo and moisturized with lighter oils and such, if that would fix the issue. It seemed to work well, and I then washed once a week after that, but when I went back to my loctician, it seemed that the new growth that had been retwisted the last time might have unraveled....a cycle. Any suggestions?

  • @Dioskid15 Nah no itchiness after I retwist. I think tea tree oil is good for that though. You might want to ask your loctician about your new growth unraveling. I think its normal though

  • @prettipoison27 Thank you for the info and the quick response. I tried tea tree oil and the original listerine and neither seemed to work for more than a few minutes. After using the ACV wash, though, it did not itch for awhile. I wonder if I am having an adverse reaction to what is used on my hair since it was just retwisted on Wed., I did not exercise (thus sweat buildup), and it is already itching. Or maybe I need to take my loctician's advice and see someone about my scalp....Thanks, again.

  • Your hair looks great! I was wondering if you have any issues with your retwisted new growth coming undone once you first wash it after retwisting (how soon after retwisting do you wash it?). If so, since you retwist every 3-4 months, do you just keep it out until the next retwist? I seem to have that issue. My hair has loc'd, but I am not sure if the new growth unravels after it's retwisted. Should I use another locing product, maybe? I am not sure what my loctician uses (I should ask, again).

  • @Dioskid15 thank you. I wash my hair 2 weeks after I retwist it and yes it definitely comes undone. yes I keep it out until my next retwist. I think that is just normal though honestly.

  • I keep hearing conflicting stories about this. Doesn't it cause buildup?

  • @SupahSuckahTv well I just started using it on my locs so I couldn't tell ya

  • you're a gorgeous woman, your locs are growing out beautifully.

  • @xineotheoneix thank you =)

  • Yesss!! I've been using this for what seems like foreverrrrr!! I started using it on my daughter's loose natural hair.

Actually, I tried something new today and loveeed it. I pre-pooed (conditioner, olive oil, honey), co-washed (conditioner), then sealed (cantu leave-in, then raw shea butter). I can see a difference already.

  • @lipsnlocs that sounds extremely moisturizing lol

  • I just started using this on my loose hair, don't know what took me so long to try it, its the bomb.

  • @hardymem I know right!

  • Great video as usual....

  • @sowfside thank you =)

  • Love cantu !and I just thought about this ...u can mix it with water and make it a spray...oooh I need to that tip I just mentioned lol

  • @Kinkycurlycoil that is a great idea girl! lol, yes I have to try that too

  • I know what u mean about the oil, ur hair really doesn't ABSORB the oil, i would run my hands thru my hair after i oil it and be like dang there's more oil on my hands than in my hair! At least thats what it felt like.I dont think i would ever use something creamy like that on my locs, i just feel like things get trapped inside ur locs as it is & u dont want anything in the core of ur loc that isnt washing out.But i think ur locs mayb small enuff 2 avoid that, glad u found sumthing that works 4u

  • @lovelo4life thank you =) yeah I hope it doesn't give me any problems

  • thanks for sharing the product that you use I need to pick some of that up.

  • @atlantagradybaby you're welcome

  • good tip. yeah I don't really care for oils all in my hair either for the same reasons. my hair prefers watery moisture spritz or creamy moisturizers like that. I will try it.

  • @Venae2000 mine too

  • @brownbutterflie What is the name of the spray you use? I'm 4 months in & def need a moisturizing spray that lasts a week!

  • @Rheasharae Well first I need to say it's not all the spray the does the trick. I condition, rinse with cool water. Spray Giovanni protective moisture leave in conditioner. THEN, I use coconut oil on my scalp and jojoba on my locs *panting* and I'm good for the week with no dryness, itching, buildup or oily hands

  • i'm on the same boat. I used to use cantu on my loose hair then threw mine away once i started locking. Now i need it back cold weather is drying me out.

  • @shweet4naturalit3 I know the weather is very drying right now

  • I've used that before but I didn't love it so it's in the (gaveyard/cabinet). I have been using a leave in spray by Giovanni and its perfect. I just condition then spray that, then add coconut and jojoba and I'm good for the week

  • @brownbutterflie I'm going to have to mix some things up so I can be good for about a week, moisture wise. that would be nice

  • I have that, but I don't like it. I use raw unrefined Shea butter with coconut oil.

  • @canadianqueen76 lol...I can't get enough of the stuff

  • you might be using the wrong moisturizer. raw-unrefined shea butter may do the trick.

be safe with that shea butter from cantu because it might be too thick for your locs.

  • @missKasandraD yeah I might have to water it down some....

  • If you use the shea butter then put the oil on top that will help to loc in the moisture, oil alone is not a moisturizer. I use Jane carter leave in or carol's daughter tui moisturizing leave in followed by an oil and thats works for keeping my locs moisturized.

  • @naturallyevie thanks for the tip!

  • Your hair looks amazing! I moisturise my hair with braid spray or glycerine+water, then oil with sweet almond oil and castor oil. Works like a charm.

  • @kiekee that sounds like a good lil mix lol, and thank you!

  • Dampening hair with a spray bottle before oiling it will alleviate that oily crunchy dry thing. Keep in mind oil by itself is not a moisturizer, it just locks in whatever moisture is already present in the hair. So oiling dry hair just means you are locking in the dryness and actually can block whatever moisture you put on afterwards from being effectively absorbed into the hair. So spray hair with water first until it is JUST damp (not wet) and then apply oil, and you will get better results.

  • @cocoapeach see, I didn't even know that lol. thank you very much

  • Just be careful cause it can cause build up. But if you clarify your hair you should be OK. You should consider a spray on leave in conditioner more water based. Jmo..: )

  • @BLKGOYA I didn't even think about that =( lol hopefully that doesn't happen. thanks for the info

  • Dats wat I use da white shea stuff on my dreads it smell goot to LOC D.A.B GET*UM GANG

  • much luv keep it dreads lookin sexy check my new freestyle video an show luv baby ya boi LOC D.A.B GET*UM GANG

  • @locdabtv alright I'll do that

  • Haven't even seen the cideo yet, but I had to comment because your hair is growing beautifully!!! I'm trying to be at that length this time next year! lol

  • @Perserverance22 lol, thank you!
