piracy helps GOOD games/music/everything get more popular, but if it was really so shitty that so many people pirated it without wanting to pay for it,then it deserves to be taken down and hopefully force the developers TO MAKE SOMETHING WORTH PAYING FOR

@MichaelOusstrin LoL is made by a few members of helped update WC3 DotA. Valve DotA = official remake by Icefrog with the help of valve. LoL is also nothing like DotA unlike HoN so I don't see how a DotA remake would fail.

@MichaelOusstrin If Valve and IceFrog actually make a remake of dota it will be a billion times better than the others simply because it would be a decent company investing in it with it's original creator. And HoN > Dota > LoL =)

HoN is HoN... LoL is LoL... DotA is DotA. There's little doubt that DotA has by far the largest number of players and the largest fanbase of the three aforementioned. While this is a fact, it's also true that DotA runs on a very ancient Warcraft III engine and its players are very dependent on having a copy of Warcraft III just to play it. Even then, there isn't a separate client, no in-client support/tutorials/chat lobby and definitely no match-making system.

@viiietdude You're also forgetting the fact that the product being developed is THE sequel to DotA (Allstars) and that it's being developed by one of the best mod-to-full game companies there is, with the guidance of none other than Icefrog (the person who has successfully managed DotA Allstars for years now...) himself. Heroes of Newerth and League of Legends are good games in their own respects.. but hey are NOT DotA.

@viiietdude DotA 2 will hopefully capture the essence of the original mod, whilst giving it a platform with which it can be more accessible to the public and with which it can be melded into something more without having to be restricted by the Warcraft III engine's limitations.
