  • Hi Jaspreet, Very helpful. Thanks

  • can i access it using java can u help with tht code in java

  • @bhoot619

The code is written in C#...

It must be re-written using java...

  • @jaspreetkaleka i'm glad u replied so quick. but how to write tht in java i measn which packages to import wht keywords to use can u help me out with tht ??

  • @bhoot619 I am not familier with java too much... search the internet to find any java code for parallel port if any...

  • sir app nay relay kitnay volt ka use kia hia ...and can you pls provide me whole circuit diagram with detail..thank you so much

  • I have used a 12V relay.

For circuit details visit my blog.

Blog link is given in the video description.

  • @jaspreetkaleka thank you sir...you are very great and very nice...

  • can we do same with external parallel port.

  • I haven't tried with the external parallel port. So, I can't say that it will work or not.

  • @jaspreetkaleka whats an external parallel port i knw tht pc has only one parallel port which is on the mother board which is this external one ?

  • @bhoot619 External parallel port refers to the "EXTERNAL PARALLEL PORT CARD" which can be attached on to the mother board.

  • I use a transistor instead with the data line connected to the base or gate to control the 12 or 5V through the coil.

  • Great Tutorial,

However, there is an easier way of doing this. Instead of using the IC, you could provide ground for your 12 V relay by connecting it to the Drain of an N Channel Mosfet , ground the Source and Connect the Gate to D0.

I have tested it and it works just fine...

I like your software though, very tidy and nice looking.

    Keep up the work.

PS: Any nice stuff on IR Transmitters and Receivers you could share with us? Anything is welcome.

  • ! nice man

  • Perfect , very nicely explained

  • when i hear you, I remember this google video v=g9fIjYnPazc

  • Great tutorial..

Brother i want the temperature or other parameters to be shown on computer what should i do???

    tell me steps to do.

  • What a great little teaching video! The easy to obtain components help the simpie explanation. The light bulb working proves it works. I think you've captured many elements of a perfect training video here. Of course it could be dressed up with animations &stuff but it's simplicity is a virtue. & makes a great little presentation. I ;ike it because I'm fascinated with learning & effective teaching, (but I'm not a teacher).

  • Thank you so much! hope it'll help me a lot in my project :)

  • i have sent u the link to my ckt .. u may chk ur messages section in ur youtube account

  • i m using this circuit given at epanorama site using bc547 and diode n 4.7k

but the relay pin wont move when i change the data pin ststus.. so if i connect the wire to the normally cloesd light remains perman. on and if i connect it to normally open it wont light at all..

could this be because of i m using 12 v relay and 9 volt battery. should i use 12v frm smps instead..

another request plz explain in my ckt how applying 5 v at data pin would make the relay change its state. thanx in advance

  • "ULN2803 is a 8-bit 50V 500mA TTL-input NPN darlington driver." this 50 v 500ma refers to the contrlling input voltage or the controlled voltage plz explain.. i m aa amateur

  • ULN2803 is a 8-bit means it has 8 bit output.

Its Output Current can be up to 500 mA and output Voltage up to 50 V maximum.

It means that ULN2803 can drive any component which works below 50v and 500mA.

For electrical equipments like fan, bulb etc. we can use a RELAY along with ULN2803.

  • thanx fr ur prompt reply.. I wanna know using the exact same equipment as mentioned in ur blogspot page can a cfl or a table lamp be made to glow.. Also i tried getting ULN2803 it is not availaible so can u give a simple circuit probably involving some transistors or diodes or another commonly availaible ic

  • use BC549...in place of ULN2803...

  • hello sir....i searched alot bt unfortunately unable to find your parallel port control program...its will b very helpful if i get some guidance from u regarding the program...pls send me if u can...my email is anand . kmk @ gmail . com

  • @jaspreetkaleka do you know of any code that can directly access the computer ports without using the pic chips?? thank you.

  • I want to know using this circuit what load can be connected .. i mean can i connect a table lamp , CFL zero watt bulb etc.

  • thanx seemantadutta ....

and i know about ULN only...

  • Nice video. Thanks. I have just started to use these ULN ICs. Do you know the difference between ULN and ULQ series, by any chance ?

  • the notch is on the 1 pin....

  • Hi my ULN2803 chips arrived today, there is a small notch on the top of the chip, is the notch on the 9 & 10 pin end or the 1 & 18 pin end of the chip, I don't know which way around it should go.

    many thanks dave.

  • hello, what is the name of the program you are using to control the pin outputs?

  • i have developed my own program in C# . Net to control the parallel port. User interface is provided using . Net and parallel port is controlled using "inpout32" dll.
