  • 1:49 - Use a Liquifying Creme. This product contains caustic alkalines which kill the outer layers of your skin allowing the skin to simply slough off with a slight abrasion.

1:55 - After cleansing, dab on an astringent (diluted Rubbing Alcohol) to further antagonize your skin and to stop the bleeding after shaving.

2:00 - Or if your face is a dry skin or you look like a Morlock, then try getting used to living in the storm sewers underground when not feasting on the Eloi.

  • 1:40 - Friction is half the battle. Knowing is the other half of the battle. Ponds Cold Creme can lubricate that friction away. For even greater savings we suggest you invest in a large personal storage vat of Ponds Cold Creme in your basement which we can pump into your personal cleansing rooms and refill by our fleets of Ponds Cold Creme tanker trucks.

1:45 - If an excessively oily skin is your problem, we recommend collecting that oil and refining it to fuel grade home heating oil.

  • 1:26 - A full period is devoted to teaching girls how to wash their faces, but you don't need to go to college to learn that. Even though they actually give college credits for hygiene skills (for women) that should've been learned shortly after being potty trained. Women just love being mentally feeble and they give Women's College credits for that too.

1:33 - I'd like to give you one hint though. Don't ever use SOAP & WATER. Bathe in Ponds Cold Creme. Ingest it by the cupful daily.

  • 1:18 - In several girls colleges, they have courses in Good Grooming for which they give regular college credits. Believe or not, one full period is devoted to teaching girls how to wash their faces. Girls are often raised by packs of feral wolves these days & never had access to motherly advice or the reading skills to open a book of personal hygiene. There are even courses (only for Women's Colleges) on the proper way to wipe poop off your bottoms. Girls are just that repulsively dumb.

  • 1:06 - Slather more Cold Creme on, the more you squander, the more money we make in the Cold Creme industries. Keep an eye out for our Gallon-Sized Buckets of Cold Creme at your local hardware store.

1:09 - Be certain to also use our Ponds Brand cloth tissues. Because you deserve to squander your husband's hard-earned money which was gained by many laborious hours of exhausting thankless work away recklessly in your futile quest for beauty.

1:18 - See what you've accomplished, BLAND MEDIOCRITY.

  • 0:03 - Makeup tips from Dracula's Bride. I mean, look at her, GAH! All she needs is some blue tint around the mouth area to finish the "reanimated corpse" effect.

0:28 - Smooth on the Cold Creme all over the face. Use a plastic trowel if your fingers cannot slop enough on. This enhances the lifelessness in your cold undead flesh.

1:02 - Use fresh tissues so as not to track the grime back on your skin. This method of coating your flesh with oils for "cleaning" was practiced by ancient Greeks.

  • I ran out of makeup remover so at the store I saw the ponds cold creme for 5 bucks(cheaper than my regular remover) and I decided to try it. For a cheaper price I was able to remove my makeup more comfortable because it doesn't sting, also a little does a lot because it's so rich. I'm not trying to advertise ponds & vintage makeup tips are the best!

  • PONDS cold cream is available at every drug store or supermarket. At CVS, Walgreen, walmart...etc. It is real good but the best way is to wash it off with warm wet towel.

  • Is the second to last girl black?

  • @Victorian9322 no, they were pretty racist at the time

  • I dont have the patience to do this. lol.

  • I hate how today is all about making your skin look healthy and perfect instead of actually taking care of it so it is healthy and perfect.

  • Hey if u uses the ponds cold creme and jus wipe off wif tissue, doesn't it leave sum cleanser residue on the skin? I'm worrys about using cold creme and wiping off, cos if the creme is left on skin, ur serum/lotion/moisturiser u apply next can't be absorbed.

  • @killerchipmunkattack You can wash your face with a cleanser after using Ponds cold cream.

  • @SerendipitousJ thanks for the advice, but it seems to be a lot of trouble if u haf to wash with cleanser after using Ponds. :( I think using toner after using Ponds should be enuff to remove residue

  • @killerchipmunkattack It actually takes two seconds, not to mention Ponds Cold Cream Isn't a facial cleanser, it's simply a makeup remover. As with any makeup remover you still should wash your face.

  • This is a subtle 'ponds' advertisement...shame it's the wrong generation :)

  • what the fuck is cold cream? and whats ponds? ive never heard of this stuff but it looks ultra cool

  • I use Noxzema as my cleanser and Oil Of Olay as my moisturizer and my skin is great THEY WORK!!!

  • i like the music in the background

  • people had pretty&acnes-free skin back then... though the products were simple and creamy

  • They look so white its scary.

  • Did Pond's sponsor this? It looks like early product placement.

  • Pond's was formed in 1846.

  • Pond's Product Placement

  • RiffTrax needs to Riff THis Clip!

  • Blech, Pond's tests on animals :\

  • damn, back then they had credit for grooming classes? LOLOLOL

  • I use Ponds to remove my makeup, too! Woohoo!

  • As much as I love vintage things, I'm glad I wasn't born back then. I'm allergic to lanolin and it wasn't a well recognized allergen till a few decades ago :-P!

  • Oh wow i wish they would still offer these courses in school. I would really enjoy these classes. lol Nice video! Funny how they would talk back then. They made anything sound like a serious matter.

  • I love the old packaging! I wish it all still came in glass jars. Love all of your posts! Thank you for sharing!

  • @theobsidianelk I actually have a Pond's glass jar that my grandmother (for whatever reason) kept from the '50s. It's milk glass and has a coral lid.

  • @LaBelleParisienne1 Sounds gorgeous!

  • @theobsidianelk It most definitely is (:

  • Why waste an entire college class on something their moms could have taught them? Did the men's colleges have classes on how to shave? This is stupid.

  • @GingerGilligan yep, definitely.

  • she looks so pale!

  • Oh my god, this was so funny! I love how you could get college credit for learning stuff like this!

  • I like that big cream pot :)

I wish I could use cold cream. It's really nice, protective, nourishing and moisturizing, but it's no good for my oily problem skin... :( All its benefits are ruined by pimples it gives.

  • @genatzvalee well did you dab with an astringent afterwards like the woman said? :)

  • Ponds breaks me out like a mofo. It's all that mineral oil.. yuck

  • @holdthedressing Do you wash the Ponds off before you go to bed? Mineral oil isn't harmful if it's washed off.

  • I love Cold Cream. I have been using Pond's cold cream for a while now and it just broke me out a little for one night. However, since they test on animals, I will be switching to Boots cold cream. Does Boots test on animals? My skin has been uber soft since using cold cream.

  • Fancy meeting you here. :)

Have you found out if Boots is cruelty free? I'd like to try their cold cream too!

  • This makeup tutorial is great! Thanks!

  • My grandmothers and my great aunts all used Pond's cold cream. Their faces were like velvet. Everytime I try to use it however, my face breaks out. :( I have oily skin tho so that's probably why. Maybe when I get older I can follow them. :)

  • Actually that happend to me as well, but i relized that the cold cream was bringing up the pimples that were already forming to the surface. It takes pimples about 7 days to be visible, so every time i would try cold cream i would quit because i had a bajillion zits everywhere!! after a week my skin was FLAWLESS! I have oily skin too :) give "Boots" cold cream a try

  • DId she say cold cream? Cant make it out, I love this video, thank you!

  • @TwinklezLP Yep, Ponds Cold Cream.

  • damn.

ididnt know ponds is that old.

  • @marymarj Unfortunately, Ponds test on animals. I would continue to use the cold cream, but they test. :(

  • @marymarj ponds has been around since the turn of the century, maybe, probably before that : )

  • @marymarj Pond's was founded in 1846! It was already 100 years old when this commercial was filmed.

  • I love the first girls hairdo. I love that era. Thanks for posting. xoxo Lizzi

  • I always love these vintage tutorials! Thank you glamourdaze!! ;D
