  • That was just a horse jumping slomo and real time

  • @ horsebunni - the horse has to have its head up before the jump other wise it would be able to see jump because of the blind spot in its vision

  • i'm surprised to notice that he lands with both front legs stretched, I always thougt they didnt and that they would be limping if they had done it, now i understand they have to because otherwise they will trip or dont have the good shape for the recovery phase thanks a lot for uploading this, and the vid before this one, it really explains a lot to me thanks!

  • No, Every horse lands and make shapes over fences differantly, and however they feel comfortable, in some horses it may cause a problem, in others not, this is a wide fence which is why the horse is stretching which may be why it lands in this way, or it may just be the way the horse lands.

look at the very first clip in 'CRAZY horse jumping 2' and it just shows how differant horses land in differant ways. x

  • @GirlWithAGuitarx thanks a lot for your comment, I fully understand. Apparently horses don't have such vulnerable knees as we have ;) (sorry if i didnt use the correct words im not english you see...) again, thanks for your comment

  • waste of time sorry,,, -.-

  • personally,, i think the horse could've been a little more collected before the jump,, the horses head was straight up in the air,, but it was still ridden really well!!! Love the riders position

  • Is this pebble beach?

  • yep.

  • hey goanna person if she took one more stride the horse wouldnt of made it u idiot du

  • That was really cool how you made it stop ever 0.05. good job

how long have you been riding

  • actually youll see grand prix riders try to get closer to jumps so there horses can jump out higher and carefully VVVVV

  • woh he only just made it over that jump. Am i the only 1 that thinks he could have had 1 more stride b4 he jumped? Im no expert im just asking.

  • nah, that was a great spot - as the jumps get bigger, you have to take off a little farther away

  • oh ok

  • You are EXACTLY right! I have been riding 5 1/2 years! Once the jumps are over 3 foot, your distance should be a little far

  • it was either take it big or chip, the rider probably didnt see a spot untill she got closer..

  • very cute horse and amazing rider.

  • i wish i could jump that high one day! haha the freeze frame thing is pretty cool how do you do that?????

  • The rider has very nice figure, very well ridden. That's how high I jump so it's nice to be able to watch it to kinda see. :] I like it.

  • that doesnt look like it is 3'6, but it might jst be me

  • 1) it was a 3'6" -3'9" class. I didn't see the jump crew measuring the height of the fence, so I just have to take the class listing at face value.

    2) the surface of the arenta is about 8" higher than where I was standing, which would tend to visually reduce the height of the fence.

  • @madicarr It looks 3'9', 4ft ish...dunno!

  • ya but when your in the air like tht ur going so fast and when the horse hits the ground, it will no if it is hurt or not

  • the rider unbalanced the horse by over folding and throwing all her weight forward

  • let the rider fiqure that out for herslef because i no she does now tht.

  • the riders fine, i know what ur talking about tho, but it only really becomes bad when u collapse ur body over smaller jumps. at this height its not an issue.

  • Fair enough but when u bring ur bum right infront of the saddle it is pretty bad

    XXX

  • not really, it (barely) happends for a split second then she levels out, and seriously i think the girl is pretty damn good if shes going 2 do a course of that height. the horse jumps it clear and willingly and isnt affected by the rider. so in reality who gives a rats bum about the slight imperfections that occur

  • Took off a little soon but hey nice jump

  • You don't seem to respond to comments, but do you not think it is wrong to jump a horse in a standing martingale? The horse is unable to stretch out its neck when it has completed the jump. Thought you would have gotten that in slow mo. Applies to both of your how a horse jumps videos. Good idea though.

  • I am just filming what I see. Almost all of the hunters & jumpers in the US are wearing standing martingales -- they were verboten in the hunter ring when I was first actively competing in the 1960s.

I don't know anything about the horse and rider in this video -- the time, height, and position of the fence were the determining factors in deciding to film this particular horse.

  • The little grey gelding in "How a Horse Jumps" (the first video) definitely needed a standing martingale. What I noticed is that they lengthened it before he went in to compete on the bigger jumps.

  • a standing martingale shouldn't restrict how they can stretch their neck, it is to prevent them from throwing their head up and whacking you in the face. all jumping experience i have, the horses ALWAYS wore standing martingales. the only reason i have a running martingale on my current horse is because i have a figure eight bridle for him. there is nothing wrong with standing martingales.

  • WOW! This is fabulous! I like this vid! Excellent rider, beautiful position!

  • awsome lower leg! your brave to put it in slow motion like that, (everyone is going to try to tell you what you did wrong) you did awsome

  • This isn't me -- I just picked a fence where I had good sight lines to shoot the video.

I wish I had had a chance to shoot a bigger fence, but the light was bad.

  • @mmaryberry767

    HALLELUJAH!

someone else who cares about lower leg, most people are just like, umm that really doesnt matter.

    but it SERIOUSLY does. :L

  • i can only say this is one of the best references i had for my animation

  • hi !

im doing a horse vidio and i wonder if i can get your fodige to be in te video ??

    //jashrinah

  • nice rider, great horse, rly pretty ^^

  • this is really good! and thered better not be comments on the rider, coz there aint really anything to correct!

  • liked that one!! i am waiting for the next parts of "lesson"

  • Nice!!! This is an exellant rider! Well done!

  • The rider did swing her legs back but that could be due to ballance, Great job!

  • Great video. You could tell that the rider was looking were she was going. Great two-point... Great job, you know how to ride!
