May I ask what did I say or do in my last comment that would be rude, worng, offensive and the like??... To me, that what would be a reason to thumb a comment down... Now look, I'm a huge TFF fan. I saw them this past summer & They, Curt and Roland were great... yes the group is Curt and Roland. I have loved both since the start. I see no reason to push a fellow TFF fan away from a vid or anything because one fan may like a member of the group over another. I love both about the same.
I hear ya Celeste K... someone thumbs down my comment or should I say that someone or people keep thumbing down my comments... or they say Curt really isn't that good or whatever. the thing is Curt is real cool. He's such a good guy. He talks to you and lets you know that you are important. Ok, he and I don't agree on some things but man he's been just the best. It's made me love the group more. I love Mr. RO he has an amazing voice and talent. I'm sorry I do love Curt as well.
Curt and Roland always fought-I watched tears for fears the movie it explains how they came to be and were ship-wrecked for awhile and reshiped with a different sound this different sound today has no future.
It's one of the things I love about YouTube. With just a few clicks of the mouse, you can go from Rockpalast where, if that boy isn't deferring to Curt, he's hiding behind that flap of hair, so very wary of the spotlight, to Hammersmith, where he's so much more comfortable in his own skin, so composed and assured, and then to Massey, where he's all "Look Ma, no hands!", revelling in what he can do and what he's created, and watch that extraordinary young man grow into his gifts all over again.

Let me clear a few things up. Curt is slightly hotter than Roland. I'm from England, this is not the version we got on the single or the album, it sounds a bit lighter, more soft synths. Song was on SFTBC, this version wasn't. TFF > DD + SB. Get it?
Apparently not. 6 negatives, that's a bit fuckin harsh! And I love this song too. Yer all orrible bastards. I only said I preferred Curt to Roland... I'm not even gay!!!!
Sorry for my harshness, I guess I can't cope with all this rejection. I just think Roland's face is too big, Curt's so much prettier. I assumed everyone felt the same way as I did, how could I have been so wrong? Sorry Gypsy.
No reason to feel rejected! When I first saw the TFF videos I too thought Curt was cutest in their younger days but Roland has much more charisma and during STSOL era not too many men were sexier than Roland!!! most people on here love Roland and consider him the most talented. And no apologies needed!
Thanks. Felt rejected cos I got 6 negative replys and my message had also disdappeared! I guess after that, Curt left anyway, Break It Down Again etc. Still prefer Curt anyway. PS favourite 80s song is Brilliant Mind by Furniture. Heard it?
Curt might have been prettier, but Roland was more beautiful in every way that counted. So ferociously talented and, God bless him, he wore that talent like a little kid in oversized clothing, like he was swimming in it, tripping over it, it could break your heart just looking at him. He gained such poise, such confidence as time passed - what a thrill it was to see him in such full and joyful bloom when this clip first came out.
By '89, he was the prettier one, too. But that never mattered.
I know what you mean! Right around the time I started to wonder what I ever saw in Smith, Orzabal turned up beautiful beyond words, but still that paled next to the wonder of his voice and raw talent. It is wonderful to see him so happy and dancing with abandon as he is here. Makes me happy for him, even after all this time.
@willowmansdaughter Wow I love the way you articulated that about Roland,, I could'nt have said it better!! we definnitly watched this sunflower bloom!!

they both are just rocking in this video. lovin' it!
!Zeldaartist,
there is trust me. sometimes RO fans are a lil louder than CS fans but that's ok. cos we all love TFF and both men are just the best. for me that's what matters.
281COBRA: I think what the guy was saying is that this VERSION is not on "Big Chair," which it isn't. This video is the 1986 re-recording of the song for release as a single. The album version is quite different.
I can't name a one and only favorite TFF song, I love all of them and Rolands solo work too. What I absolutely love and adore about this video is seeing Roland dancing and just so happy! :)
Man, I can't help but find myself listening more and more to songs from my youth like this one. Truly amazing era that produced SO MANY incredible songs!
I never understood why they had a "US Mix" as the version on the original LP was much better and more dynamic. Although this version's music video is much more interesting. Tears For Fears is mainly forgotten these days, but they deserve to be in the ranks of the top musicians of all time, their music has really stood the test of time. Artists today (if you can call them that) can't, write, sing or sample this masterfully or creatively.
RO's dance is eye candy! I want to get up and dance with him for the rest of my life... here and in the other two vids 'Sorry' and 'Humdrum and Humble' by nourset. Sizzling....
LOL he says "my features form with a change in the weather". And I agree, Curt's intensity at the end of this vid is HOT! And that's coming from a Roland lover ;)
Roland said in an interview, his mother would say, 'your face will stay like that when the wind changes,' after making a face. Great song, great group
On the scenes of the big chair dvd he says that it is about the mother's tale of telling kids that. Not his mom in particular. But I will watch it again to make sure my memory isn't playing tricks =)

This is why I love Tears For Fears? They were the only british synth pop group that said anything about what's wrong with the world. Other british synth pop groups only ever sang about partying and having a good time.
very true. But there is nothing wrong with singing about partying or good times either. Although they did eventually grow out of the synth pop style and became more mainstream which was good too!

Oh agree with you. There's nothing wrong with singing about partying and good times but Tears For Fears were the only ones who ever said anything that was important through their music at the time. :)
This song is but a good example of having a point of view and not making it so obvious. Shout, and EWTRTW are two others.
In this video, Curt is absolutely lovely, cute, takes my "head over heels"...

Now it's not the biggest fear, but somehow the new fears seem more horrible.
