Ok few pointers get real strap locks they look cleaner than the planetwave things and second slow the songs down youre learning you lose some of the small but key essentials other than,that great job.

@ccarrllozz thats not the only difference bud! the lp 100 is made of crappy alder and basswood, the epi standard is made of mahogany, maple carved top, and mahogany slim taper neck means its not bolted on its glued so hella more sustain! , and i personally dont like stock p ups, im bout to upgrade mine to gibson 490/498 combo!!!! good luck tho i recommend the epi standard a great guitar if plugged in the right amp..

I am running the exact same setup except I'm using a DS-2. Marshall MG15CDR's have a great reverb and the clean tone is pretty good for $95. I love my LP standard with the HCS finish to death! I also own a Gibson Les Paul Traditional in the goldtop finish! It's hard to distinguish tone sometimes when I plug it into my Marshall MG100 half stack! hahahaha

Had the same guitar but i changed the pups and changed the nut to a bone nut, sounds way sweeter now. As for pedal im using DS-1 Keely, =p

@Glockenator yeah its an epiphone dr-100, and the one next to the sg is a silvertone, a very old 60s guitar that i got from my dad. Danelectro still manufactures guitars simialer to the silvertones

@fighterzbt23 studio is basically a cheaper version of the standard..if ur buying an epiphone get a standard

Standard has better pickups, the sound is way cleaner. I suppose the studio is meant for practice rather than sound, so buy which one you like. After all, I think the standard has a longer lasting value.

NO but some guys think the guitar look better when the pickguard is not remove so guys dont want it and think without look better then tey remove it i like the pickguard its only for the style for the les paul

@dragonballbt3 If you remove it you should look at the screw holes to see if they stand out. I removed mine but put the screws back in. I had a cherry sunburst but trade it in for the Ebony. Love black but I kept the pick gaurd on the Ebony I think it looks better on the ebony.

the plus top has a flamed maple finish, while the plain has a maple finish. Basically, you'd be paying an extra 400 dollars for looks, although i just got my lp plain top at guitar center yesterday, and i gotta say it looks pretty damn nice compared to the plus tops i looked at

they pretty much have the same style of music....your price range will be different though depending on which one you get as the sg will be more. it all comes down to which feels more right. Go to a store and play them both. Guitar center knocked like 200 dollars off the price or something like that. IDK who your question was intended for; him or anyone but i answered it anyway :)
