  • So spiritual in its own way. I can imagine what this would sound like playing in a cathedral somewhere in Europe

  • fuck my mind !!!!!!!

  • @ibrahimoo11 VERY

  • Beautiful and powerful. Thanks for sharing.

  • nice

  • So....haunting.....

  • o Kano era um caolho

    especial ele não faz

    Nightwolf, índio véio

    tinha o cachimbo da paz

    também chegado no fuminho

    tinha o Smoke, muito massa

    daonde que tu acha

    que saia sua fumaça

  • Music is the echo of the movie, soft & tenebrous.

  • To think that some critics tore this movie up. Probably one of the most underrated movies of all times.

  • So beautiful and tragic, with that dark fantasy feel throughout the piece, god he is a genious

  • stunning music, stunning film

  • bravo!!

  • Muito legal a trilha sonora, mas eu ainda prefiro dormir com aquela do nana nenem que a cuca quer pegar.

  • This is perfect for the movie. Mysterious and freaky. Perfect for unraveling a story in the end and sets the mood for the movie. No wonder it was nominated for the Golden Globe award for best score.

  • @Winduct I think pretty much any Angelo soundtrack deserves that award....one of my top 3 film composers for sure...just generally unique, and versatile...be it more classical, moody synths or droning atmospherics it's always totally absorbing, haunting and beautiful...

  • Very enigmatical and disquieting...

  • it's like discovering bitter truth.. something irreversible and inescapable

  • Chills.

  • Reminds me of 'Safe'.

  • @coreymitchelhoulden me too, I just saw the movie last night. and the opening is almost indentical :D

  • WHY DOES DAVID LYNCH WORK WITH SO MANY ITALIAN PERSONS OR PERSONS OF ITALIAN DESCENT?

  • @ReiK0Z because italian are very talented but quite lazy ;)

  • @mercy3d THAT DOES NOT ANSWER MY QUESTION. "TALENT" IS SUBJECTIVE AND IS NOT ATTACHED TO A CERTAIN ETHNICITY. MY QUESTION REMAINS UNANSWERED.

  • @ReiK0Z Maybe Lynch just have a certain fondness for Italians, their language and maybe their culture too.

But does it really matter that much??

  • this is just a mood track - not quite what i would call a theme -

  • F*cking scary when she sees her own conscience in the bed (Diane Selwyn in the dream). That's why you NEVER look in the mirror when you're lucid dreaming!

  • @1986BJK - Can you lucid dream? Can't quite manage it myself.

  • @Namaste1001 its very possible to lucid dream :) i had one about 3 weeks after becoming fascinated with the subject and following online techniques. if you are interested its definately worth the experience.

  • best lesbian sex scene ever!!!!!

  • I cry everytime I here this

  • Naomi Watts in her hottest performance of all time.

  • Absolutely shocking movie. Unpredictable.

  • Héhé =P

  • This is just beautiful. So very beautiful.

  • This is the girl.

  • no hay banda, genio lynch, maestro badalmenti.

  • David Lynch is a genius.

  • I just recently bought Blue Velvet and Lost Highway; already own Mulholland Dr. and Eraserhead.

  • Scary. He and David Lynch are the perfect couple.

  • Rita : "Mulholland drive...that's where i was going...mulholland drive...." GREAT FILM !

  • still waiting for the blu ray release...

  • @RigoStar I got blu-ray of Mulholland Drive. It was released in September 2010.

  • @MTGreborn yeah.. cause you live in France... apparently that French Import is really not that great (just as a DVD quality)

  • Yesterday I was writing a piece of music and I thought "Wow, this is the best thing I've ever written!".

Minutes later: "Wait, I've heard this before..."

It was the theme from Mulholland Drive. I was really disappointed, because I would have been so happy for a melody this haunting to originate with me. Maybe someday.

  • @yunikage Hang in there

  • Probably one of the saddest movies I've seen..The essence of tragedy as a basic plot shows us what happens when heroes and heroines pass under the spell of the dark power of the ego. initially they may enjoy dreamlike success, but gradually the dream turns to a nightmare until they are destroyed.

  • @bondtrader100 This a very moral interpretation of the movie. "The essence of tragedy as a basic plot" is just humanity. The point is in the construction of narration.

  • @bondtrader100 So many layers in the cryptic film, that being just one of them...after watching Lost Highway for the first time lately this looks like a natural follow up or 'spiritual sequel'...both are so dark, moody and mysterious, and you just want to watch each of them again as soon as it finishes to work more out...if I were pushed I might favour LH because it's generally creepier and darker, but guess that's the point, whereas this is a tragic drama among other things...

  • @bondtrader100 well put... and "well put" is a comment I usually can't make about comments about this movie lol

  • Semplicemente fantastico!!! Badalamenti è unico e assoluto nell'esprimere le emozioni e le angoscie attraverso le note.

  • NO HAY BANDA!

  • darkest song i have ever heard, coming from a professional musician...

  • Hey pretty girl, it's time to wake up

  • this guy made the theme for that inside the actors studio show

  • I wonder who else would make a good composer for David Lynch films. (If Angelo wasn't available) Any suggestions film fans?

  • @ChuckyBlackheart

    Leyland Kirby

  • @ChuckyBlackheart Hans Zimmer or Clint Mansell.

  • @ChuckyBlackheart Giorgio Moroder.

  • @ChuckyBlackheart Sam Rosenthal from Black Tape for a Blue Girl.

  • Angelo Badalamenti along with David Lynch have composed some of the most beautiful and haunting music! They are brilliant together! I look forward to seeing these two artists working together more!

  • MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

  • It makes me goose-flesh. Great track.

  • no hay banda....

  • there is no band....and yet, we hear a band

  • Eraserhead didn't do anything for me. Just Lynch's rendition of his own nervous fatherhood. Hence: the lady in the radiator stomping on all those sperm cells, never to impregnate a woman again! LOL! And I never saw the Twin Peaks tv show, but I did see the prequel movie Fire Walk With Me and I didn't really like it. Ppl say the show is a lot better, so I'm thinking about buying the gold box ultimate edition. Is it worth it?

  • @compsciguy It is definitely worth it.

  • @compsciguy by watching the movie FIre Walk with Me you have basically ruined the suspense of the tv show as you already know killed Laura Palmer...

  • @compsciguy worth it

  • @compsciguy go and buy it like right now. It is brilliant. Fire walk with me is the biggest load of crap i have ever seen. Twin Peaks is funny, suspense filled and pant soilingly terrifying. Buy it, buy it, buy it.

  • @hihihihihihihihihify fire walk with me is a great movie

  • @compsciguy

I loved Eraserhead and I'm one of the few people who thoroughly enjoyed Fire Walk With Me more than the tv show. The tv show was full of great moments, but also full of really annoying supposed humor that just bogged things down. The film is full on darkness/art/LYNCH and all the better for it.

  • Does anyone remember Miley Cyrus's dad in this? LOL! He played that big hunky guy who was having an affair with a married women, and he kicked the husband out of his own house. That part was silly.

  • Angelo Badalamenti is a great composer.

  • @atmosphere512 i would say genius composer)

  • Grandiose. Quelle musique... Et quel film.

  • Great music!I shudder when I hear it,even more in the film!Fits perfect!

  • Limo + Nighttime + Spiral roads + Headlights + L.A. on fire in distance = Bliss

  • @cobrien1977 damn right buddy

  • Excellent choice, Adam.

  • This music fits the movie so well it's unreal. You can tell that something's just not right

  • hey little girl, time to wake up

  • Beautiful.

  • I could swear only a nympho schizophrenic asshole fake wannabe guy could press the dislike button

  • this is the last time i listen to this song alone in the dark at 4am. i almost shat myself

  • legendary soundtrack.....

  • Lynch is also a master in suggesting memory, time pass, through colours.

  • la musique est belle mais elle me donne le cafard

  • Lynch+Badalamenti+MacLachlan= The Big Three

  • the best.

  • David Lynch is a master.

    Angelo Badalamenti is a master.

Nothing can ever compare to his movies and his soundtrack.

  • Twin Peaks is the best THING ever made but this is the best FILM ever made.

  • Silencio..............

  • carmella you come back :O:O

  • What are you doing? We dont stop here

  • @GhostSnake SURPRISE!

  • @GhostSnake Is this bat country?

  • goosepimples

  • i think i could spend 4 minutes and 16 seconds pressing "Like" button.

  • My third favorite Lynch film behind Blue Velvet and Eraserhead. But I love absolutely all his stuff.

  • awesome theme!

  • This film is a masterpiece and a great watch, soundtrack is great also.

I prefer a few Lynch movies over this like Blue Velvet, and Lost Highway, I find a lot of Lynch fans tend to be of the "my way or the highway" school of thought, and tend to make comments like "If you're favorite movie isn't Mullholland drive then you're obviously and idiot who didn't understand it."

It's hard to take anyone who speaks in absolutes seriously, especially when it comes to Lynch.

  • @gorehoseproductions yeah,thats dumb.

    thickheads....

  • sure, this movie is VERY sad. its about killing yourself... and it still is my favourite movie!

  • did anyone understand this movie

  • @MrAkwowking87 Lynch likes to makes his films without a definite meaning. He will never "explain" his films because he has a strong belief if the audience's interpretation. Thus, what you believe and conclude from this film, is what it's supposed to mean. All that matters is what you take it to mean, not what it's "supposed" to mean, because it's not supposed to mean anything

  • @alice1811 that reminds me of Team Silent and their games,....

  • @alice1811 I believe that this movie had some surrealistic elemnts in it

  • its a street name in gta sa isnt it?

  • thank you for posting this... i listen to it on repeat while writing my novel. it helps so much.

  • I'll definitely play this song if i ever drive on Mulholland

  • @dripsterg I've done it, and it actually does create the dark, eerie ambient atmosphere that the film itself purveys. ;)

  • The best David Lynch film.Yes, for me Mulholland Drive is better than Blue Velvet and Twin Peaks or Eraserhead...but Omg I love so much David Lynch's filmography.

  • Awsome movie and score...Seen the movie about 8 times...Never got bored!! :)

  • @KonstantinosPiano

I'm just behind you : 6 times ... and i can go on for the next 40 years at a cruise of 2 times a year.

This movie is a fascinating psychic experience !

  • I've heard this is great listening on LSD.

  • Cette musique me donne des frissons.

  • I think Mullholland dr is an excellent movie. Its mood reminds me of "Villa am meer" by the romanticist artist Arnold Boecklin.

  • this is the kind of music you can feel with every nerve in your body. genius film too

  • @mattfca

Seems like you never ever listened to Gustavo Santaolalla's movie scores...You can feel His music million times more with every microparticle of the nerves in your body...His music is by far much much much better than this!

  • Just four minutes, but full of emotion.

  • @DenzlR I came out of watching this movie feeling sad in a way I can't explain. This movie is literally an experience. 1:35 and on is beautiful ...

  • @TheNilesEdge Gotta tell you, I felt the exact same way. Felt like that the entire day after I saw it.

  • most saddest and creepiest movie score ever.

  • ✫✫✫✫✫

  • my favorite movie ever!!!!

  • god such perfect work for the film! Just as enigmatic and ethereal and haunting as the film itself.

  • this really creates a mood of despair -- a piece to lift your spirits

  • @megvid100

    ha ha you asshole

  • ciao a tutti

  • Ich könnte den soundtrack durchgehend hören! Ein genius!

  • godlike

  • On ressent tout le mystère de ce film rien que dans la musique... Sublime

  • Thanks. Great.

  • Parts of this has been ripped off by some Black Metal band, I'm sure of it. I can't remember which band it was, god damn it.

  • i love the world where you'll get in while listening to this soundtrack..

  • Angelo + David = Magic

  • Almost 100,000 views ill be back in 731

  • The synths on this are so fat. Badalamenti always makes great string sounds.

  • This particular soundtrack sounds REALLY close to Memento's soundtrack. "Memento Soundtrack: Opening Titles/Polaroid Fades"

Anyone else think the same thing? Sort of?

  • @cb9603

hey you're right! And they both kind of deal with the same theme of abstraction

  • I would rank it as David Lynch's second best movie behind Blue Velvet. BUT, I would place it as Angelo Badalamenti's best movie score.

  • @DNDaddy BEHIND Blue Velvet? Nostalgia clouding your perception maybe?

  • @weglarz Not at all, I just happen to think Blue Velvet was groundbreaking for its time.

  • @DNDaddy While I agree, "groundbreaking" and "best movie of all time" are not the same thing. There are plenty of groundbreaking movies that have been surpassed in terms of quality by newer movies. I understand what those movies have done for the medium but that does not put them any higher on my top 10 list.

  • @weglarz an excellent point, i have always felt the same. a movie can be ground breaking, yet still later be surpassed by other films.

  • great movie

  • great....

  • memories wow, i didn't even think about that as a possibility lol

  • Wich type of synthesizer does he use, anyone who knows?

  • Perfection.

  • I luv !!!

  • Angelo Badalamenti's creates 100% clean music - painting sounds and atmospheres he wants..

  • This is breathtakingly eerie stuff. I'm getting goosebumps. This and Inland Empire were the best films of the 00s in my view.

  • Half the point of the movie is trying to make sense of it. When people are presented with a story that's up to interpretation, what they interpret from it reveals more about themselves than the story itself.

  • @shalomamigos I thought it was a load of smelly crap of no use to anyone and that it had no friends and no money.

  • most of this movie is a dream so it doesn't have to make sense

  • Sencillamente Hipnótico!!!!,, Genial...

  • but i believe david lynch is an excellent director either way

  • u misunderstood, about halfway through, this movie lost my interest maybe because i was very confused

  • You lost interest when the main character's names changed, after the cowboy shows up again, and Betty/Diane has an hallucination in her crappy kitchen after getting out of the bed of a dead woman?

  • the first half of this movie was better than the second half, way too long

  • Surely the first half is just as long as the second half otherwise it wouldn't be half.

  • nice ;)
