Internet Explorer is the worst, I have a Touch pro 2, and every time I enter internet explorer, my phone freezes and I have to turn it off and on, I download, 3 versions of opera and is a lot better, if you need opera mini 4, I can email it to you, I found a link.

I used to have an Opera Mini application on my cellphone before,when it was still free. It was awesome to have a mobile web browser that really looks like a desktop browser. Now that my service provider here in the Philippines get to charged me every time I use it,I immediately erased it. SMART COMMUNICATION SUCKS!!!!!

@omardelgado1234 opera mini is already very popular on cellphones. And even more now because it's released on the iOS. I hope Opera keeps growing and is being recognized as it should be. Currently the biggest websites like youtube, google, facebook, etc. don't fully support opera, even knowing that there are millons and millons people using it.

Chrome is growing so fast because of their ads. They put their ads on the biggest websites and even launched them on the TV.

They have a package for opera mini and another java manager - fully signed and all. Basically, no asking you to connect to the internet, and one-touch start - I have the IE button on my kaiser set to it.

also - standard AT&T rom sucks on that device - the HTC stock one is okay.

Opera Mini will usually download pages quicker on most devices, because it's going through a proxy server, which pre-renders the page for displaying on the mobile device.

Opera mini uses special proxy server to download and convert each webpage so it's in proper format. That's why it's so much faster. Btw, using Opera mobile. It's much better then opera mini.

opera mini is a java application, so it is normal to start it that way... it is not a windows exe app... and secondly, although i love opera mini 100%, especially with the new features the 4.1 version brought, i still have to remind u that opera uses a transcoder server and compresses the pages contents, while IE renders the pages locally, and stores images and other content locally, and second time u visit a webpage it will load much faster :) so the comparison is not completely fair :)

It doesn't "give" internet. That is up to your service provider. For example, I do the unlimited data plan with sprint, so I get unlimited internet for 15$ a month. Opera mini is only a browser.

Opera Mini and iPhone/iPod Touch Safari are both miles ahead of Explorer for page navigation. Having to drag the scroll bars on Explorer is just so messy clunky . And no zoom ?! What where Microsoft thinking ?

'cell phone internet' does have its advantages, say for looking at train times or catching up on the news. One does not need full blown HTML to show a train time table on a mobile device. WAP/WML uses much less data, a plus if one has METERED data usage.

(cont.2) I don't mind using Mini 4, but ThunderHawk has the same utility, but they make you pay for the service. I would probably prefer Opera Mobile 9, mainly cause of the desktop like features, and that I don't have to rely on Opera's servers which may lead to montly fee's. (cont.) Opera is now releasing Opera Mobile 9 that is a pay program for WM5+ pda's. It's supposed to do the same as Opera Mini, but I'm assuming that the birds eye view featured in mini 4 will actually be rendered on your PDA instead of the server. Thus you may run into some longer load times. The difference is mainly features, but it's not out yet, so time will tell.

I love Opera Mini 4! Just to let you guys know, reason why Opera mini is faster, is because it's thumbnailed by opera's servers first and optimized for your phone. This is why PIE took so long, because it's actually doing the rendering on your phone.

Thanks for the comparison. I can add that it should take additional time for Opera Mini, because every web-page is first loaded through proxy-servers at Opera HQ, to make them suitable for handheld devices.

I would assume that the load time on an opera mini proxy server is almost instant. The process time I would also think is very fast, fact I think the 7 seconds includes the server load and process time because it all happens after he pushes the send/go button.

They do have standalone Opera for mobile Windows. It's called Opera Mobile.

Although Opera Mini and Opera for desktop Windows is free, for full Opera on mobile Windows you'll have to spend a few bucks.
