I am transitioning and I have gotton fed up with the two textures sograb scissors and just hack off more and more permed ends, that way I know it will be short even if I perm it so that gives me courage to keep going. I have just over an inch of new growth and soon as I get over my own demons I will BC. I hope that helps you a little

i wouldn't chop my hair i just let the perm grow out and chop the ends and it works just as well, . i wear weaves but i only get my edges permed because i leave them out. perming weakens the hair and so does canerows so i hate the idea of getting a weave on permed hair. i get a weave then a week or two later i get my edges permed

My best advise to you is to not dye your hair. I did my big chop 2 years ago and I experimented with hair dye for the first time for versatility. Now all the hair that is dry and I have to cut off half of my fro so all of my hair can be healthy. I just want to save you the trouble. Don't do any processing at all. Be patient and stay natural.

go to the barber shop get it cut for under 20 bucks. get it maintained at a natural salon when it starts to grow thats what I did. Only thing is make sure if you do you to the barber go where you will feel comfortable.

Girl, you can rock any look! Your BC looks great! And honestly, it looks better than the weaves. If you're like me though, I like to change my hair constantly. I BC'd back in 2003, my hair is shoulder length now but I get scissor happy often and I do (did, but haven't lately in a while) perm my hair every 6 months, so I try to rock braids as often as I can so that I leave my hair alone.

What styles will you wear once you hair begans to grow out? Or will you keep it short?

Yeah that is so true. I was in a very bad relationship and he always wanted me to wear my hair down, in my face. I had a perm then. And I thought it was nice cause he always wanted me to do that style, but time revealed that he was just abusive and honestly, I got more hair compliments when I had natural hair.
