@rcgrabbag I need an opinion on the smoke--sounds like it doesn't add that much to your enjoyment? I'm asking because I just bought one of these and BLI wants me to return it to fix the non-operating smoke unit, but I am questioning whether it is worth the hassle, potential problems in shipping, etc. The smoke was not a factor in buying it...
@danishgary Hi! Personally, I don't like it when I buy a loco and something on it isn't working, even the smoke unit. Considering down the road that I may want to sell the loco, a broken anything may affect the value. If it's under warranty, I'd get it fixed If not, then I will say that I don't use the smoke units much at all. I turn it on to amuse spectators for a bit, then turn it off because of the oily residue in the air that will eventually land on something or go into the lungs.
@danishgary Agreed, feels 'incomplete' when something isn't working, even if trivial. I agree that shipping, and the wait for repair is unsettling, but soon it will all be behind you and you'll have a fully functioning loco.
@rcgrabbag I have a BLI Reading T1 that came with a smoke unit. It puffed very nicely straight out of the box but after a few runs it just looked more like a hot cup of coffee on wheels. Now it has leaked smoke fluid all over the front truck wheels. Not a big fan of the smoke unit anymore. It will be removed and the wheels and pilot cleaned up.
Very nice, check out some of my videos if you get a chance. :)

@tjseid Yes, and it's on in some parts of the video, but not all. Due to the oily residue the smoke leaves behind, I keep it off most of the time.

@rcgrabbag I felt the same--hate to spend $400 and not have it work. It is under warranty, appreciate your feedback!
