actually they do not take any space away. Big companies like Western Digital advertise their hard drives at 500 GB because to them 1 GB is 1 billion bytes, however windows reads 1 gigabyte as 1,073,741,824 bytes. ( so if you take 500,000,000,000 bytes divided by 1,073,741,824 bytes it equals to 465.6 gigabytes. That is why you always end up with less space. You don't just randomly get space taken away it depends on the size of the hard drive.
so just put the cd in?
