I never liked Jacob to be perfectly honest, he was really annoying to me in the books. There is no comparing Edward and Bella, they absolutely belong together and I'm surprised by the fact that more people don't dislike Jacob. Obviously Edward is not perfect because he made the mistake of leaving Bella and was on the verge of killing himself when he found out that she had "died" nothing can compare to the love that Edward and Bella share. Read Edwards side of the story......

jacob doesnt really know why he loves her though he just has some connection to her and in the last book he finds out what that connection is...renesme its kind of like it was chosen before anyone knew it would happen, and edward tells her from time to time that she should go for jacob but edward is different to her than any other guy, and jacob could have imprinted on anyone while they were together so it all works out in the end.
