Atleast we know now Bamco is listening to there fans. Even though people where blaming this on Nintendo it not coming sooner I think it more had to do with Bamco cause they are know to pull stunts where certain games by them are only release in certain region. But I'm glad Namco Bandai is releasing this & Tales of Graces F in the US next year. Trust me I'm really looking forward to both games now if only we can get Bandai Namco to listen & release .hack//LINK & the new .hack PS3 game n the US
Congratulations Team Rainfall, you've won this round, and Xenoblade is finally going to be released in the US.
But the battle still isn't over. Pandora's Tower and The Last Story are also games you're campaigning to get released in the US, and now that we have Xenoblade ready to be put on the American market, nothing can stop us!
@CoolTom1337 Its the lowest rated of them all, but that means it scored great but not superb and spectacular like the others, we "could" live without it
due to alot of people not expecting the game to come out for US at all many people ended up importing it its very well possible that the US version wont sell as well as it should have

I think Nintendo played it smart by making it a Gamestop exclusive to see how the sales fair. Though I will be pre-ordering on Nintendo's site. It's up to us to prove Nintendo good JRPGs are alive and well in America.
It's so cool we are getting Xenoblade now and can't wait to play it but off topic wonder when Nintendo will release the 3rd wave of Nintendo Selects it's about time for another giving the time line wave 1 was May and wave 2 was August have any clues Kwing? I personally hope next time Wii Sports Resort will be one I've wanted that game but didn't feel it was worth $40-$50.
Kwing, I own Xenoblade (live in The Netherlands) and I must say, you chose the worst trailer possible! There are way better (official) ones and this one has WAY to many spoilers in it! And this one doesn't show the feel of the game and the many possibility for things for you to do. Pleas show a different trailer soon because this one is just bad.
@kNIGHTWING01 Hey KWing,same guy who mentioned about the details of Game Notes some time ago. Still a big fan ^_^ I want to mention though that Xenoblade has yet to be confirmed for Canada, as the releases at work state explicitly that it is expected to only come to the US, bummer for Canadians like myself, but Im hoping to see it brought north of the border as well, if not now, maybe a short time after.
I've been playing this game since its european release pretty much every day and I'm still not done. YES that's how huge it is. Everyone needs to play this.
oh, it still has british voice acting? it would've been great to hear the american versions of the characters.. but its a great game anyway so i'm not complaining

So is Monado: Beginning of the World, the game Operation Rainfall supporters preordered on Amazon, still going to be called Xenoblade? I have been a little confused about that since I made the preorder.
I have been a member of Operation Rainfall from the time of its inception during late June. It feels incredible that I have been an active member for that movement for more than five months, and we have now achieved one of our three original goals. Now it is time to move onto the other two as well as spread the word of Xenoblade. Thank you for your support so far as well.
On another note, what do you mean the Tales series campaign didn't work? At least one of them has worked (ie ToG F).
I'm starting to wonder if the reason why NOA didn't publish it in 2011 was because of weak currency exchange. Like or not the dollar right now is very very weak compared to Yen and Euros.
I know I'm going to get a lot of hate for saying this, but I played the Mother 3 fan translation, and found the game an overall disappointment. You can't say that "I just hate the series", because my favorite game of all time is EarthBound on the Super Nintendo. I've also played and really enjoyed Mother 1, but Mother 3 is just a terrible, terrible game.
@DawnofStorms74 The game gave me severe headaches while playing. I didn't like the permanent sadness of the plot, compared to mixed feelings the previous games gave you. Plus, I won't give anything away, but the ending was absolutely horrible and empty.

Don't you think you will be really disappointed by it now. I mean I am in the UK and have the game and it is a great game, but it isn't phenominal. So I was really impressed by it, but I think this campaign and aprehension for it might dissappoint you guys?

Operation Rainfall shouldn't stop here. They should try getting The Last Story and Pandora's Tower localized here.
But we need to start more operations, like getting the Earthbound series on the Virtual Console and releasing Earthbound Zero and Mother 3 for the USA. That series was another awesome franchise from Hal Labs and should be released...it needs to be!
@LevyTheAmishMan I'd like to see them doing similar operations, such as Operation Earthbound. (And I did not realize that Earthbound was partly HAL Labaratories' handiwork, that is incredibly interesting.) I also would like to see a new full Duck Hunt game that isn't relegated to a godawful collection of minigames (Wii Play anyone?).

@RocMegamanX I give the people who translated it a lot of credit for a making the dialogue of a great game into English. Even though you need an emulator to play the ROM translation, it's still a great translation.
But I said that they need to localize it for the 3DS shop (since they are going to do GBA games for it)
Skyward sword isnt the last good game for the wii and thank you Kwing for listenting to my personal message about the 10 free GBA games for the ambassador program.
Joking aside I don't think Operation Rainfall had any part in it coming to the states. I think it has everything to do with the one million copies it sold in Europe and AUS (that's combined, no separate),
@bigbardos Yeah, it's great that Xenoblade Chronicles is coming! But to make sure we'll be able to see the other two games, we need to make sure Xenoblade sells, while at the same time still campaigning for The Last Story and Pandora's Tower, so basically, We're continuing on with the campaign as long as the other two are still unconfirmed :)
@OperationRainfall didn't know you had a youtube channel as well, I wish you good luck, and hope that even people outside the project realize how good and important xenoblade is and buy it, so that you in the US can get this games too, and in my opinion you shouldn't stop there, more like just do a break till there is another situation were you will need suport for another game, maybe for another console or generation
at least in europe the last story had been anounced a wile back toghether with xenoblade and due to the amazing sales of xenoblade, pandoras tower has been confirmed too. Fron now if this games have to be released in the US it would not depend so much on how they do outside of the US as much as Xenoblade sales do there, so I hope it realy sales well because it is a realy good game and opens the door to other high aclaimed games
This game looks amazing. I think it looks even better than Skyward Sword, and that's saying a lot from me since I love the graphics of Skyward Sword. This looks as good as any 360 game that I've seen.
Winter needed 20,000 sigs to get it a publisher. We almost got Sega but the fanbase got the sigs up to i think it was 18K...so we were 2K short. In the Industry you have to meet a certain requirement, so that the devs can pitch the idea to a company like Capcom,Konami or Sega...and well it didn't pan out.
I'm realy happy that you in the US will get it too, but actualy I think that they already had decided to bring it a wile back but the reason it was not even anounced till now and it won't come out till April is because if they has anounced it 2 months ago the news would have gone unoticed under so much skyrim, MW3,MBF3,SR the 3rd and skyward sword news, and there are still a few strong titles coming out the next months like old republic,mass effect 3, they want to wait till there is nothing else

@bigbardos Xenoblade had very strong sales, my NOA rep told me they had a wait and see attitude toward Europe, if it did well, then it might release. I heard numberings that NA was going to announce a big title in Q1 2012 for Wii. But I assumed it was Mario Party something. Still this was a really cool surprise. The facebook page started teasing people late last night. But your right, all the big titles came out in Oct- Dec. So it would have been swallowed up

Simple become a member of the Press. Though there aren't as many perks as you think and I work myself to the bone. When I started staying in contact with more gaming media, the release time for my reviews got much...wider. Hence why LP's and guides have been more frequent in 2011, then 2010. I took my freelancing to the next level and now its low paying almost full time job...as side from this channel & my music.

@kNIGHTWING01 I know that the sales were good, the provider were I had it reserved even put it out from the online page because they had so many units reserved that they never knew if after they got a new shipment they would had enough for all the people in line, game is awesome. Only complaines are that the landscapes are a little bit to big for how empty they are, even most regular enemies have too much healt, and that the companios IA could be better(specialy regarding lava/toxic water)
Mother or Eb would take a miracle...sadly I don't see that happening. We can try again during the next Smash Bros reveal...but frankly..i just don't know.
@kNIGHTWING01 I would give up on Mother. There isn't a point. The only way they would do it is if they released the Trilogy on 3DS, or the Eshop. Which I wouldn't be against. But I know it isn't going to happen. Or maybe it can. Due to the likes of great LPers like Chugga and NCS, alot of people now know about Earthbound. As such, we might be able to pull it off thanks to them. Of course, I'm not sure, but it would be worth a shot I guess...
We the mother fans have been trying for a long time, we had the sigs, but Nintendo just doesn't want too. Personally I want to see StarTropics get a 3DS ware game or something. Which would open up doors for another Mother game maybe..or new IP. Who knows.

Or, at least not localize anything new, which brings me back to the fact they created a new IP in Captain Rainbow and didn't even give it a chance outside Japan. It looks like it has the makings of a hilarious game. It is literally one of the games I really wanted to see a US release of.

HELL YES! This is progress! As you all can see, with signing the petition, writing to Nintendo, even calling them, and some patience, it does pay off! Also I am a fan of RPGs of any kind so I know I'll enjoy it! Nintendo always surprise me! Lol! I love them! :D

Its a strategic sales plan developed by nintendo. A petition or two, no matter the sheer scale size of it, will change a developers mind. Before patting operation rainfall on the back, grill them about the last story and pandora's tower. If it was such a huge success, where is the news of those two games?
Now only if they can get on of those super robot og's over here they can get some credit

I was pumping my fist in the air at my college when I saw this news. People looked at me like I was an idiot, but it was so exciting! :D
Operation Rainfall shouldn't stop here. They should try getting The Last Story and Pandora's Tower localized here.
But we need to start more operations, like getting the Earthbound series on the Virtual Console and releasing Earthbound Zero and Mother 3 for the USA. That series was another awesome franchise from Hal Labs and should be released...it needs to be!

@LevyTheAmishMan I'd like to see them doing similar operations, such as Operation Earthbound. (And I did not realize that Earthbound was partly HAL Labaratories' handiwork, that is incredibly interesting.) I also would like to see a new full Duck Hunt game that isn't relegated to a godawful collection of minigames (Wii Play anyone?).

@BJWanlund I can see Duck Hunt, either on the Wii or the 3DS. But then again, the one for the 3DS would be really easy. lol
And yes, Hal Laboratory Inc. designed the Mother series. Mother 3 was an incredible game from what I had seen from LPs from chuggaaconroy and NCS.

Do I really have to buy something I'l never play due to the language barrier in order to play a translated version?

@RocMegamanX I give the people who translated it a lot of credit for a making the dialogue of a great game into English. Even though you need an emulator to play the ROM translation, it's still a great translation.
But I said that they need to localize it for the 3DS shop (since they are going to do GBA games for it)

Joking aside I don't think Operation Rainfall had any part in it coming to the states. I think it has everything to do with the one million copies it sold in Europe and AUS (that's combined, no separate),

@bigbardos Yeah, it's great that Xenoblade Chronicles is coming! But to make sure we'll be able to see the other two games, we need to make sure Xenoblade sells, while at the same time still campaigning for The Last Story and Pandora's Tower, so basically, We're continuing on with the campaign as long as the other two are still unconfirmed :)

@OperationRainfall didn't know you had a youtube channel as well, I wish you good luck, and hope that even people outside the project realize how good and important xenoblade is and buy it, so that you in the US can get this games too, and in my opinion you shouldn't stop there, more like just do a break till there is another situation were you will need suport for another game, maybe for another console or generation

at least in europe the last story had been anounced a wile back toghether with xenoblade and due to the amazing sales of xenoblade, pandoras tower has been confirmed too. Fron now if this games have to be released in the US it would not depend so much on how they do outside of the US as much as Xenoblade sales do there, so I hope it realy sales well because it is a realy good game and opens the door to other high aclaimed games

This game looks amazing. I think it looks even better than Skyward Sword, and that's saying a lot from me since I love the graphics of Skyward Sword. This looks as good as any 360 game that I've seen.

Winter needed 20,000 sigs to get it a publisher. We almost got Sega but the fanbase got the sigs up to i think it was 18K...so we were 2K short. In the Industry you have to meet a certain requirement, so that the devs can pitch the idea to a company like Capcom,Konami or Sega...and well it didn't pan out.

I'm realy happy that you in the US will get it too, but actualy I think that they already had decided to bring it a wile back but the reason it was not even anounced till now and it won't come out till April is because if they has anounced it 2 months ago the news would have gone unoticed under so much skyrim, MW3,MBF3,SR the 3rd and skyward sword news, and there are still a few strong titles coming out the next months like old republic,mass effect 3, they want to wait till there is nothing else

@bigbardos Thank you! Finally somebody on this comment page that sees how the game industry works. Its not the petitions or the fans that deserve thanks. Its the developers, and by that I don't mean NOA. They are just publishers after all. No hands in on the actual design, aside from some minor funding.

@bigbardos Xenoblade had very strong sales, my NOA rep told me they had a wait and see attitude toward Europe, if it did well, then it might release. I heard numberings that NA was going to announce a big title in Q1 2012 for Wii. But I assumed it was Mario Party something. Still this was a really cool surprise. The facebook page started teasing people late last night. But your right, all the big titles came out in Oct- Dec. So it would have been swallowed up

Simple become a member of the Press. Though there aren't as many perks as you think and I work myself to the bone. When I started staying in contact with more gaming media, the release time for my reviews got much...wider. Hence why LP's and guides have been more frequent in 2011, then 2010. I took my freelancing to the next level and now its low paying almost full time job...as side from this channel & my music.

@kNIGHTWING01 I know that the sales were good, the provider were I had it reserved even put it out from the online page because they had so many units reserved that they never knew if after they got a new shipment they would had enough for all the people in line, game is awesome. Only complaines are that the landscapes are a little bit to big for how empty they are, even most regular enemies have too much healt, and that the companios IA could be better(specialy regarding lava/toxic water)

@kNIGHTWING01 I would give up on Mother. There isn't a point. The only way they would do it is if they released the Trilogy on 3DS, or the Eshop. Which I wouldn't be against. But I know it isn't going to happen. Or maybe it can. Due to the likes of great LPers like Chugga and NCS, alot of people now know about Earthbound. As such, we might be able to pull it off thanks to them. Of course, I'm not sure, but it would be worth a shot I guess...

We the mother fans have been trying for a long time, we had the sigs, but Nintendo just doesn't want too. Personally I want to see StarTropics get a 3DS ware game or something. Which would open up doors for another Mother game maybe..or new IP. Who knows.

@kNIGHTWING01 Not to crazy bout the Startropics, but if it could help Mother, I'm in. Now, a new IP might be a good idea, but lord knows Nintendo doesn't want to try anything new. Or, at least not localize anything new, which brings me back to the fact they created a new IP in Captain Rainbow and didn't even give it a chance outside Japan. It looks like it has the makings of a hilarious game. It is literally one of the games I really wanted to see a US release of.

They never have, not in their 40+ years of game development.Proof of this can be seen in the change made to their most recent success, Devil may cry. all the backlash, and Not a single accommodation was made for it all. its not gonna turn out like the infamous 2 situation, where the look was changed back by popular demand.Capcom's not a company that cares for the will of the people. Not by a long shot.

Its a strategic sales plan developed by nintendo. A petition or two, no matter the sheer scale size of it, will change a developers mind. Before patting operation rainfall on the back, grill them about the last story and pandora's tower. If it was such a huge success, where is the news of those two games?
