However few colonial militia were left.Suddenly i had shipments to get a new fort. That brought us hope. Cannons and mortars and pikemen were produced and we attacked them every minute. Pikemen went out in 15 and attacked but we couldn't do anything! His army was huge.... 2 mortars suddenly attacked and destroyed our fort.... Hope was lost... We were about to surrender.. One option was left... REVOLUTION! in a minute 50 colonial militia were ready to attack! 2 of my mortars destroyed the british fort ( end of part 2)

All your settlers will become Militia, and you won't be able to build more settlers.... You can build Ironcalds and Gatling Guns, and you recieve some special stuff.
Thus, I think (I don't have the game), you can still train your original nation's units.

The Settler go to arms and you become a pure military nation. I think Revolution is better than imperial age anyway due to the 'Gattling Gun' which can mow footsoldiers down in seconds. A well done revolution wins hands down.
my strategy is just using up as many of my military cards as i can, make sure i have my max limit with settlers (i use ottomans, so its not hard), upgrade my janissaries as best i can, then revolt so i have a large force of militia, my imperial army, and then all those cards i get through revolutions
I think revolting with dutch is best because you can get your banks to get gold automaticly and factories to produce ur other resources you need so you dont run out of resources
its only in t he war chiefs expansion, and once you hit age 4, go to your town center and instead of going to age 5, you click the revolt button (it should look like a raised fist)

Sorta.

I think you need supremacy mode to do that.I have only revolt like 10 times (Benn although playing 4 years :D)
