A beautiful song. It reminds me of my life in Poland and in Budapest and all those other places where the track you were listening to was a significant factor. I remember listening to this track on a train that got raided; at the time it meant so much, because it emphasised the bad side of change: people exploiting other people for no good reason. The lyrics are so significant and so poignant.
i was at a keg party and some douchebag (one of the tenants of the house) was playing system of a down. i knew one of the other tenants had a strobe light and i asked for that. luckily i had my ipod and plugged that into the stereo and played this song. that keg party became a lot better after that. i had taken molly earlier so i was grinding on some random people and wielding the strobe light like it was Excalibur. and what do you know? everybody liked this song.
@castoresnegros Maybe you should check out some modern electronic music. There's some very good stuff out there. Otherwise I agree, music nowadays is borderline trash.
damn wrong son, im trying to find a new order song, sounds a lot like this one its got a mad synth sound in the middle of the track that im needing to sample, warp and make into something crazy. does anyone have any idea atf song im talking about? aaarrg
Does anybody remember the BBC comedy drama "Making Out"? According to Wikipedia, the theme tune for that program is an adaption of this track and New Order actually did all of the incidental music for "Making Out" as well.
Yeah. I think on some versions of the single for Round and Round (I think the single was called "Round and Remixed") they included the track "Vanishing Point (Making Out Mix)" as a b-side - it was basically what you hear here, but the vocals are removed and replaced with a 'tubular bell' synth instrument playing a different melody (actually I think they play the same melody as the bass line). Sort of a different take on this song.
I loved Making Out as a programme and also really liked a lot of the incidental music, as well as the main theme tune! It really fit perfectly with the mood of the programme.
