Mystic Foundation looks good..... I can recommend "Do dead people watch you shower?", it's about 150 or 200 questions commonly asked to a medium lady, and then she answers it. And its not to long so I liked it.

Nice that you are spiritual and nurturing this gift. I would like to recommend Reiki as a core system for healing and spiritual development cause it has nice tools and is safe and gentle. It has helped me find my bearings and stand on my feet after time of crises. Steve Murray is a wonderful Reiki master and his DVDs are actually effective. Carolyn Myss is an amazing healer/teacher. Dawn Eve has nice work on higher self.
1. The Little Critter series. for growing your own set of wings and doing things for the first time as you slowly get your life started one step at a time.
2. Green Eggs and Ham, about letting go of ones insecurities and doubts and diving into an entirely new world.
The most powerful physic experience I had was when I was in New Mexico and I was in a car that was driving down a straight road. Speed limit 65. A family member was driving. Within fifteen minutes of our driving, I felt that something was going to happen, that our vehicle was specifically going to flip over.
Minutes later a coyote prowled onto the road. The driver of the car swerved, lost control, having us flipped and rolled into a ditch.
My family and I were in a really remote part of Missouri, and we went to visit a really small old graveyard at night. I was standing outside the car as we were all about to pile back in.
I felt this rush of wind and it was like I could feel hooves all around me and inside me. I told the driver to be careful because I felt deer.
Minutes later we were driving back up the hill and three deer pranced out in front of us. We didn't crash or hit them.
I'm a huge Penczak fan, yet I haven't finished his book about spirit guides, but I think it is great. It has some awesome exercises. All of his books have a bit about spirit guides, but this one (obviously) goes in depth. I recommend you check it out, or any of his books. I own the majority of what he has written, and his books really speak to me. If you have any other questions about his other books just send me a message :)
So to make a short story short, i got them together explained what was going on, and as far as i know they are still together. So sometimes stuff like that makes "the gift" i like to call it worth while. Sometimes tho it's not, you tend to feel the negativity way more
so i excused myself for being rude, and i proceded with his okay to ask him about her childhood, i told him what i saw or felt and he looked white as a ghost after words. He even accused me to talking to her before hand.
it really shook me up, at the time i didn't know who she was. So i asked some of my friends about her and they said that she was the married to one of my friends friends, "soon to be ex wife type of a deal". I just happen to know her husband a bit, " he's a really nice guy!"
LOL i often think to myself the one time i went to a party, and i was just relaxing having a good time talking with my friends, when this woman came into where we were talking. I looked at her, "then bam all these pictures started to flood my mind and they weren't nice!!"
I often can't control when i happen to get a psychic response. They sometimes come right out of the blue. However, sometimes i can trigger them by thinking to myself certain symbols that i found works for me.
just some people notice their triggers more quickly then others do. That's why when you look at say, "shamans" for example. They like to have different types of symbolizes that represent some thing to them in the spirit world. Stuff like that. You just have to find that trigger or triggers that tells your subconsicous mind it's time to move it a different vibrational state.
Hi, speaking for my own experiences and they are alot like that what u seek whitney, "i hope i spelled that right?". Each person has the ability to be psychic, it's just that as in life with maturity and your on experiences, people tend to be more evolved then others. This you can't force, it must happen naturally, and with everything in life some people evolve faster than others. That's not saying that those people are better at it
Really looking to expand your mental powers? Take a break from the trade paperbacks with large type and wide margins. Try "Bleak House" by Charles Dickens. Or anything by Dickens, really. Or anything by Mark Twain. Homer is always good. Ooh- and Aeschylus. Can't forget Aeschylus. Jane Austen can be fun - "Northanger Abbey" is my favorite. I also love Chaucer. And Shakespeare. The only way to really expand your mind is to fill it with big ideas.
What makes you think I don't read Mark Twain or Homer or Shakespeare? The only way to really close off your mind is to start sentences with the only way to expand.... There are many ways to expand. Not just one solitary way. Maybe it's time to stop being so parochial.
Because the universe is a wonderful, beautiful and immensely huge and immensely complex thing. There are six billion people on this single planet circling a single star, one of two billion billion stars in the Milky Way alone, which is a single galaxy among a countless billion others. To think that the rules that govern something this massive, this awe-inspiring will bend themselves out of shape to the whim of a single human mind is about as parochial as you can get. Sorry.
Haha, then you fail to understand what I mean when I say universe. I don't mean this physical expanse of stars and planets. I mean the energy of the world. The current that connects everything, makes up everything. It's not like I believe if I think World Peace long and hard enough I am going to stop the will of all those people out there who are working against it. My energy, however, can and does affect the energy around me and in my life. Thoughts have energy and power, the law of attraction.
Except that the world very demonstrably does not work like that. Thoughts have tremendous power to affect the world within your own mind, but that doesn't extend outward to the rest of reality. I'm sorry, but that's just the way it is. Each of us ultimately has to learn live in the world that exists, not the world as we want it to be.
Haha, I really really really don't believe that. I don't know why you are trying to convince me otherwise. Why do the things I believe and do matter to you? And I do live in the world that exists, but I do things to make it more the world I want it to be. What has happened to you that makes you sooooo sure about how the world is? How can you KNOW? Things are constantly being proven and disproven. I am not waiting for some scientist to tell me what is now possible, and what used to work doesn't.
Belief is an incredibly dangerous thing. People acting on things they believe is a cause of so much sorrow in the world. Before you believe, subject any idea to rigorous scrutiny, and believe nothing which is not true. You can know, it's just a matter of truly expanding your mind by reading and studying all the amazing, wonderful things that human beings have thought and accomplished. It can be a long and difficult path, but it's really, really worth it.
What are you saying that reading literature is really worth it? You are preaching to the choir. I read all the time. Also, it's not like am a crusader going off and slaying in the name of god, I'm just finding peace within myself. Why would you want to take that away from me? Why are you trying to push your views on me? I wasn't indoctrinated with this stuff, this is a current I've felt within me since I was a child. That is what caused me to do more research about certain forms of spirituality.
Nice, I will definitely look into the second book you mentioned. It is truly cool to have a dialogue on here, read responses, write responses and interact with people, even if you have no idea about their lives.
Books can not get you there, you must be call or chosen. Trust me you'll be.When you are ready it will come to you-no human effort required. The books are simply good information sources.

Genius.
More people should talk about what good books are out there.
I liked "Being Peace" by Thich Nhat Hanh.
There was only one piece of "instruction", the rest was inspirational stories and advice.
But the "instruction" was infinite.
Breath and smile.
Breath in and feel calm, breath out and smile.
So simple and an extremely easy way to learn to meditate.

And one of the best ways to be parochial is to think that the universe somehow responds directly to your thoughts.
