not a bad lecture, but as most foreigners do, she looks at the conflict in terms of race and doesn't go much deeper than that. yes pashtuns are a majority but even in the most generous estimates are 45% of the country and pashto is linguistically a minority language, though very widely spoken. so her characterization of the NA as a tiny minority is poor. and she doesn't take into account the number of pashtuns in the NA. haji abdul qadir, sayyaf, karzai all these people in the gov are pashtun

This speech was given in 2005. Now that Nato and US have plenty of troops on the ground in Afghanistan, they like internecine massacres by the Afghan muslim sects and political groups against one another are being committed by the west in Afghanistan. Also the use of drones have killed very few terrorists and killed thousands of innocent men, women and children, in the Pakistan tribal belt next to Afghanistan. So the west are just continuing the killing fields.

just started watching. i don't know if she gets to the real perps, but they were and still are is the US/western corporations/privitization/mil­itary complex beginnig at the end of ww2. If we weren't supporting dictators like Saddam, funding the overthrow of the secular socialist secular gov of Afghanistan, propping up the corrupt repressive house of saud, and all the shieks making life miserable for the common muslim, 911 would have never occurred.
