I remember a couple of years ago we booked a gig with them, think it was the one right after this, was incredible, will enjoy reminiscing about that performance... Sad to hear their split up now though...
The harmonica solo is a shameless ripoff of the great Alan Wilson's ( of Canned Heat) version of the song. I don't blame Feltham for using it; I just think he ought to credit Wilson for the arrangement. Wilson died in 1970 and very few people remember him as the harmonica virtuoso he was. This was one of his finest -- it's on the album "Living the Blues" by Canned Heat. It completely blows away this cover .Having said that I'm grateful and admiring of 9 Below's efforts.
You are right but you missed MY point. Alan Wilson is quite obscure compared to the musicians you named and this harp solo by the very good Felton isn't influenced by Wilson's recording it is straight up stolen or "lifted" as they say. Wilson's solo was influenced by Big Walter Horton's earlier recording -- not stolen from it.
Hoping to catch NBZ later this year at the Mick Jagger Centre, Dartford. Be a trip down memory lane for me. Think I last saw these live around '79! Been trying to catch up with them every since!
OMG! Please tell me that is Mark Feltham? Yummmmm............I used to fancy the a**e off him way back in the 70s. He's older, I'm older: I can go for the shaved head and goatie lol!!!

There you go - practically on your doorstep. And you didn't even realise you were living amongst R&B royalty lol!
Easy to assume that everything great - R&B-wise - came out of Canvey. Lee Brilleaux RIP x
