  • water from the tap is cloudy O_o

  • pretentious douchebags

  • Wait...we cry and scream and protest when gas hits $4 a gallon but gladly pay $4 for 20 OUNCES? And people say OPEC is evil and greedy. Where's Occupy Aquafina??

  • "Yes, I filled the bottles myself, and YOU are a FUCKING IDIOT."

  • WTF!!!!!!!!! I'll GLADLY pay $4.75 for a double Jack and Coke, but $4.75 for WATER that I can get out of my FUCKING FAUCET?????

  • I only buy bottled water when I have no other available option to obtain water.

  • THANKS FOR SHARING, IT'S AWESOME TO WATCH...

  • 'i'm your water steward this evening' hahahaha...stupid California people

  • "AGUA DE CULO" hahahahahaha that is water from the ass!!!

  • People are so stupid

  • its just trying to avoid having caca in your water, and chlorine! i don’t care about the teats, i just drink water that won't fuck up my system...

  • I buy bottled water every once in awhile, then I throw the water out, rinse it a few times and put in tap water. Bottles are nice.

  • Hey, in some cases, bottled water IS safer than tap. In some places tap water really is undrinkable. Bottled is the only safe option in some cases.

  • "it's a natural diuretic" - thats the funniest line ever!

  • No, YOU'RE bullshit. The tap water in my area has an extremely excessive fluoride content and damaging to your teeth. I knew a kid on my soccer team who had permanently yellow teeth because it was it was damaged by the water he drank.

  • @cursedswordsman They're not saying you shouldn't filter your water. They're saying that you shouldn't believe that bottled water is any better.

  • Check your toothpaste constituents, the active agent is most like sodium fluoride, therefore your friend who has yellow teeth because of "drinking tap water" maybe hasnt been using enough 'fluorine' to make his teeth white and also most governments do add fluorine and for the reason i mentioned and your friend 'thinks' is the cause of his yellow teeth, and that is tooth decay and damage. The governments do this so that they dont have to invest in dental as much i.e saving tax.

  • @cursedswordsman ..you're such a rube.....and the best part is you have no idea !

  • @cursedswordsman Lol you are an idiot.

  • @cursedswordsman Lol you are an idiot.

  • lol .. you boneheads

  • "Penn & Teller: Bullshit Water" I have to get that! XD

  • @Bluecho4, plastic comes from petroleum byproducts. That is waste products from producing gasoline and diesel

    .

  • When they conducted the taste test really they should have used a person who had no idea that either A or B was tap water, when you use someone who already knows which is which it usally creates a unwanted bias within your stats.

  • If your water tastes like shit its most probably old pipes in your house .If they are not copper and iron pipes then they are most likely corroded on the inside and your drinking rust mixed with your water ,easy solution get a good filter or change your pipes ,bottled water is the SAME water that comes from your tap only filtered ...A good filter /connections for your tap costs no more than $100

  • So much for saving the earth, bottled water is the biggest fucking waste of plastic too.

  • @shanesboard

like 99% of people watching this buy bottled prob. lol but yea, fuk fucking up the planet

  • @lovetownsend Credible assumption there.

  • @shanesboard Plastic which is produced by way of massive amounts of oil. Plastic is oil-based, hence why it burns so well in fire. People complain about the amount of gasoline we use in our cars, and then go back to sipping what amounts to tap water from an oil-rich product and throw it away.

  • @Bluecho4 plastic burns so well in a fire because its oil based? lol. Plastic burns because its mostly made up of hydrogen and carbon, especially polyethene. Not because its "oil based"

  • Bottled water tastes like SHIT. I love tap water

  • Well some tap water honestly does taste like shit, especially since some places tap water is full of chlorine; but other than that I agree you won't be able to tell the difference. Just like their other episodes people will be fooled by perception so the tests really weren't fair for the testers you guys were setting them up to look like complete ass holes :p

  • I drink bottled water so it wont hurt taking a shit

  • If you live in Florida, you don't drink out of the faucet for known reasons.

  • @sovietrat I used to live in florida. Water tasted/smelled like shit, but I feel if we can bathe in it then its safe to drink. May not smell the best, but water is water...

  • I usually just buy bottled water when I'm out somewhere and don't have a drink with me. So more for convenience then anything else.

However, I do feel silly because I always thought it tasted better then tap water :P Guess I was wrong!

  • I feel scammed ... i want my money back!!

  • I just thought people got bottled water for convenience sake. Guess I was wrong.

  • Some bottled water does taste just like tap water - crappy. Others taste a lot better. I use a built in water filter that gets the same effect though.

  • 5:30 to 37, that face is priceless.

  • I LOVE hose water.

  • I live in Buffalo, NY... All you losers get your water from out great lakes. And yes u have no idea what good tap water taste like that hasn't traveled through a million miles of rat filled, urinated pipes hahahah

  • agua de culo... lol

  • the only reason they thought tap was better was because they were going off of pure taste. The fact that you know it is tap water just makes it 10 times more gross.

  • Truly the emperor is wearing the most beautiful of robes.

  • Its Peckham Spring, but for real!

  • I'm thinking the FDA sets standards for the amount of rat feces acceptable in bottled water. Basically.

  • "Agua De Culo" means "Water from Anus" in spanish hahahahaha.

  • toliet water taste much fresh and better for me:)

  • And the fluoride scare is really stupid. Your teeth are already naturally protected from tooth decay to a certain degree but fluoride is even better! This isn't like mercury in heart-healthy fish. You can drink as much fluoridated water as you want. It's how much fish you eat that matters. While a lot of people can prevent hearth disease with seafood, that doesn't count for athletes like me. You will get past 60, just in a diaper/wheelchair cause you'll have neurological/motor issues.

  • Lol, they should give them bottled water bottled in Phnom Penh. Tap water is already awful but I didn't expect bottled water will also taste awful and so this is one of the rare countries where buying evian or jeju island water is a positive thing to do.

If you're thirsty, buy something with flavour in it, iced tea, ginseng or aloe vera drink, or liqour with bat/snake blood, whatever. Your tap is perfectly fine.

  • the taste most people have an issue with is their dirty faucets.

  • Yeah, how fucked up were the ones who decided to put the water in bottles instead of having drinkable tapwater? Fucking retards, I'm go happy i'm not living in the US.

  • I gotta get me some Penn and Teller bullshit water!

  • agua de culo. OMG. xDDD

  • So obviously bottled water does taste better. Sure it's placebo, but it still tastes better.

  • Yeah we get the point about tap water. Just proved the majority of people have stupid assumptions and mind gaps on everything

  • I hate the taste of metal in my water, greetings from finland btw

  • @TheSuppilo I kinda like it. But of course spring water is best but only when you go get it yourself. Second greetings from finland.

  • convience and marketing... never underestimate the power of fear in marketing.

  • I don't think people buy bottled water for the taste, they buy it for the portability of the water.

  • @rvfjone Buy one bottle, fill it up?

  • I have water delivered. Tap tastes terrible here and has toxins in it here. Norman, OK. I actually refill the small bottles.

  • At least bottled water doesnt contain flouride found in tap water. 1/10th of the flouride thats in our tapwater causes cancer in lab rats. Welcome to reality.

  • everest water is horrible...now i know why...im drinking my own tap water...corpus christi water is gross...dont drink it people...actually i dont drink the tap water cause we had to boil it weeks at a time...and they waited days before they even told us..i have been doing bottled water ever since..but not everest...

  • our tap water tastes horrible

  • tap water is purer than bottled water

  • @Supersomonerandom depends on where u live. in my parents' hometown the water is actually YELLOW, tastes horrible, n smells even worse. its b/c of the high amounts of sulfur (and several other chemicals) in the water that the city can't afford to filter out.

  • @MerryJ3000 and in my hometown u can actually smell n taste the chlorine and fluoride they use to "clean" the water. its VERY strong, not even exaggerating.

  • @MerryJ3000 in my country tap water contains hundreds of times less microbes than bottled water.

  • White people....

  • I live in Mansfield TX. The tap water here is AWESOME. I work in north Dallas, where the tap water actually makes you smell WORSE after washing your hands. Some tap water is pretty awful. But yeah, most people buy bottled water for the same reason they shop at Whole Foods or buy Apple products.

  • Norway got the luxurious bottled "Voss Water", that they have been selling in the US. (actually in one of HIMYM episode). Same water people in southeren Norway get in their tap :P

  • @romigor1 Oh no, sunshine. When I asked "Should corporations be allowed to do what they want?", you said YES. When I asked "Should we abandon regulations completely?", you said YES. So now, sunshine, by actually advocating regulations, you are contradicting yourself in a big way.

BTW, every libertarian I know advocates less regulations than we have today, while basic things are not properly covered, while corporations and banks get away with pretty nasty shit thanks to numerous loopholes.

  • @romigor1 I was right, you are an idiot. If you want to regulate them, as we should, then they are not free to do what they want.

You basically say: "we should let them do what they want except for this one thing... and we should not regulate them... except when we should".

And that's not all. What about putting their employees in danger, what about safety regulations, what about worker rights? How about price fixing? I guess we should let them do whatever they want, right? Oh wait. Not quite.

  • @romigor1 I certainly am not looking for a discussion with someone, who can't type two sentences without contradicting himself. I just saw how profoundly stupid your comment was and responded accordingly. BTW inability to admit mistakes isn't very mature either. So there.

  • @romigor1 You sir, are an idiot. Handbook example. If corporations are allowed to do whatever the fuck they want, then we cannot force them to inform their customers about anything, because by definition, they are allowed to do whatever the fuck they want.

If we force the corporations to be honest and openly inform their clients about the qualities of their products, about the consequences of using them, then we impose a regulation, and a big one, which by the way I'm all for.

  • Like the top comment guy said. I don't drink it because it's "pure", I drink it because it's convenient when I don't have my water bottle with me or clean.

  • This is just the power of suggestion...

(Bottled water is bullshit I agree 100%)

  • penn and teller are part of the zionist conspiracy. they are jews themselves and want us to drink the tap water so they ridicule everyone that drinks purified water. think about how many millions of people are drinking the tap after this aired? don;t ever buy into any form of media especially one's run by jews.

  • @alphant1 Thanks for the advice Adolf. I would love to hear more and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

  • This actually made me LOL.

People are so stupid hahaha they believe in everything

  • tap water from where I live, tastes fine at first but after a few hours, you begin to taste the chlorine and shit like that. Which is the reason why I drink bottled water, if I need it for the whole day

  • if you look at the price per gallon of water against the price of gasoline. WATER IS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN GASOLINE. WTF PEOPLE?

    look at the math:

    $1 for 0.5 L water (1 Liter = 0.2641 Gallons)

    0.5L*0.2641Gal/1L=0.1352Gal per bottle of water

    $1/0.1352Gal=$7.3964 PER GALLON

Gasoline is $3.15 (indiana pa 10-09-11) vs $7.3964 for a Gallon of water (bottled)

Gasoline is 2.348x more expensive than bottled water.

  • In the US drinking bottled water is stupid, but in alot of countries around the world it's nessasary. Alot of places I've been they advise you to not even brush your teeth with the tap so I can see why there is a market for it.

  • I am making money with a Purium Health Product, that cleans tap and bottled water. I love this video.....finally, someone told the truth!

  • Comment removed

  • 6:20: ROFLMFAO!!!!

  • PUR filter on my tap. FTW

  • Haha placebo effect on your asses, taste testers!

  • LOLOL garden hose

  • Hahahahahahahaha

  • Let me get that straight. So Penn and Teller point out dishonest tactics used by corporations? They say that current regulations aren't enough to make bottled water safer? But that's so un-libertarian...

Shouldn't corporations be allowed to do whatever the fuck they want? Shouldn't we abandon regulations completely? I think we should do it libertarian way, and welcome the salmonella-flavored bottled water in our stores!

  • I think it's really all about where you live. Here in New Jersey, the water tastes INCREDIBLY chlorinated, but in Salt Lake City it's great, and I don't taste a thing.

But hey, it could all be in the head.

  • @Jaildale in my country is like is the same...

  • I think Humans need to be wanted, pleased, and important makes allot of companies con us through our egos.

  • I only look at water that is very low in fluoride, tap water is supposedly filled with it.

Plus i get my water from a well it smells and taste like rotten eggs some times... It also sometimes spits up black shit.

Bottled water is my only choice :P

  • Did you know? 70% of bottled water never crosses state lines for sale, making it exempt from FDA oversight.. Visit my channel to *MAKE A CHANGE*

  • 11:33

    OWNS !

  • In high school, when I toured a government water testing lab. A chemist demonstrated that the water in bottled water is the same as the tap water in Plano, Texas. (The city where they bottled it). Bottle water is obviously a scam.

  • 7:02 FOR THE FUCKING WIN!

  • Why drink pure water at all? It's disgusting, fish make love in it...

  • 5:03 as they're drinking the bottled you can see they ugh! reaction. i prefer tap water

  • Water plus human gullibility = tasty bliss (unless you are the CEO of the corporation, then it's monetary bliss and the only tasty beverage left to you is 40 year old scotch from a virgins naval)

  • live in san francisco. studies have shown that our tap water is actually more "pure" than the average dasani bottled water. and given that we are situated conveniently in the bay area (and northern california), I'd say it's fairly accurate. I've heard of people being worried about the amount of fluoride in the water, but for that, there is always a fluoride filter, such as the ones my roommates installed.

  • @immehgen Is there any company that uses San Francisco Tap water as a bottled water? Id buy it Im from there and LOVED the taste!

  • @ERIC the problem with this video is with the notion that those who pay attention feel that the need for water is a sake of forsaking it. In turn what we get is an empty bottle.

  • I kinda lauched inside my head when I poured up few bottles of REAL natural water coming out of ground that was clear and cold as heck thinking this episode ^^

  • new york water is from apalachian mountains....its good as shit. i still drink my shitty tap water though.

  • bottled water is more healty

  • I drink bottled water, because it's cleaner and I'm less likely to suffer from it.

  • @SonarWavePulse Do you live in Somalia or something?

  • @Jonmad17

    No.

    In Russia.

Well, some parts of Russia have good water, like in Siberia and in the Urals.

But here in Saint-Petersburg, water's fucking ORANGE some times, so yeah, fuck that.

  • At my house we have well water, and it seriously tastes delicious, I have yet to taste waster better then what comes out of my tap, but I can't stand water anywhere else, I don't drink water at any friends houses or anything because it tastes like ass, So the only time I buy bottled water is when I am not near my house.

  • in australia tap water is filtered

    ...

  • well that's the US, i guess.. I'm from India, and out here, you can taste the difference between tap water and bottled water. For me, it's the taste that's the issue here. Ground water in most parts of India is generally impure and unhygienic, not something you drink if you have better options. There's an outbreak almost every year due to waterborne diseases.

  • I drink bottled water because the tap water is nasty. Fuck the environment.

  • Seriously, I may not be able to tell the diferance between tap and some random bottled water, but if that had been Aquafina (my favorite) vs. NYC tap there is no way I would mess that up. And I'm not saying all bottled is better than all tap. I actually prefer tap to most bottled water. (I live in Colorado so the tap is pretty good)

  • Flouride.....yum.

  • Every time you buy a bottle of water it's like punching the environment in the balls

  • I don't trust tap water.. but bottled water also has flouride and other chemicals in them, and the bottle itself also melts the chemicals into the water. So really, it doesn't make any difference both ways we are fucked. The government takes away everything good in our lives so they can wipe their ass with cash and whats really crazy is we let them do what they want. ridiculous

  • @spacetraveller2521 - Please stay on the line and you will be beamed up to the mothership with all the other crazy conspiracy theorists.

  • @Hasek10

wtf.. when did I talk about conspiracy's?

I'm talking about real issues the whole world have been dealing with for years.

Do you even know whats in your tap/bottled water?

Do some research before you label someone with a lame ass comment.

  • Government water = flouride and random testing.

  • @turtleking9999 oh wait, we have fda regulations anyway. FUCK IT. WE'LL DO IT LIVE.

but yeah, flouride is bad for you in the quantities we recieve.

  • I hope they got their $ bk lol

  • Thumbs up if this made you thirsty.

  • does bottle water have fluoride in it? no? oh than bottle water>tap water in NA

  • @Bass20HZobsession a little bit of fluoride isn't going to give you a heart stroke and kill you. The amount of fluoride in water (atleast in canada) is the natural amount that our bodies can use safely. And it is essential for healthy teeth.

  • @Gamespot25 so you promote mass medication?

btw health teeth from fluoride and the fact it is safe is debate

i can look for links if u want but i suggest you do your own research and find out

  • @Bass20HZobsession - I've seen the links - the majority of research points to moderate-major improvements in dental health. The need for this has decreased in some highly developed countries because of the advent of fluoridated toothpaste (I suppose that's a plot too?), but there is meager and dubious evidence to suggest that there is some negative health effect from this. The majority of arguments I've heard boil down to "But we must protect our precious bodily fluids!" Dr.Strangelove anyone?

  • @Hasek10

dumb youtube wont let me post links but basically

flouride is made from copper, aluminum and it was used for rat poison before

there have been studys showing floride isnt good for teeth

    second-opinions/fluorideharm

plus its my body, my choice, and i dont want the government to medicate me

  • @Bass20HZobsession - fluoride is NOT made from copper or aluminium or indeed any other metal. Fluoride is a non-metallic halide element. Copper + aluminium are elements in their own right (please, just check a periodic element. Go on, I'll wait).

Some studies show that high levels of fluoride MAY have an bad effect on teeth. Other studies show a deficiency can result in increased dental problems + possibly osteoporosis. As with many things, in moderation and normal doses, fluoride is safe.

  • @TheCardinalFang Research has found that the benefits from fluoride are from topical applications, and not from ingesting it by swallowing it

makes sense right? fluoride in water=not effective

  • quote from web: that drinking fluoridated water for a whole lifetime will increase your risk of arthritis and also increase your risk of hip fractures, which is very serious in the elderly. The reason for these problems is that half the fluoride people ingest is stored in the bone. We may also have a problem with it lowering the IQ of children. There are 23 studies from four countries that have found a possible association between drinking naturally fluoridated water and lower IQ in children.

  • Respond to this video... /life/health/why-water-shouldnt-be-fluoridated/article1759535/

source globe and mail google for link

  • I just buy a bottle of coke and when it's empty, I fill it with tap water. It's extremely convenient

  • Agua de coolo hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

  • Most NY tap water is great. My building both at home and at work is horrible. That's what Brita is for. When I am out and about, you kinda have to have bottled water or risk some nasty-assed water fountain. Restaurants? Either I want sparkling (and I don't care if it's carbonated tap or not) or I want tap.

  • What do the tasters rinse their mouths with between taste tests??

  • i dont get the paint against the sheet thing, someone fill me in

  • In turkey you have to buy botteld water because the tap water isn't cleaned

its only use is for cleaning clothes and washing yo dishes with

  • Finland has the cleanest tap water in the world= almost no bottled water used

  • what a lot of bottled water buying idiots dont realize is that the plastic that makes the bottle is prolly the number one pollutant of the water its containing. Chemicals that make up that plastic leech into the water and there you go. your water isnt so pure anymore.

  • :l damn i gotta exploit american stupidity more

  • They make us look bad :l

  • I'm curious if they took temperature into account. If the tap water was colder, it was more refreshing and consequently tasted better.

Otherwise - a fascinating look at marketing and consumerism in Los Angeles (suckers!)

  • hose water is the best!

  • This has to be a wind-up!! I knew Americans were thick, but fuck me!!! How can anyone be as dumb as these fucking retards?

  • [ taps water from the tap... hmm ]

  • "natural diuretic"

    basically... it makes you pee.

  • Politics, religion, marketing. The three keys to money. To power.

  • Bullshit sells.

  • My friend showed me this video, so we set up a blind taste test, and i could tell the difference of Alpine Spring Bottled water, fridge water, and Tap water from my sink. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE. and i get a 32 pack from Costco for 3 bucks, im not tripping on the price.

  • @CaliLax916 I hope you recycle the bottles then. You're welcome to waste your money, but you're an ass if you're putting bottles into landfills.

  • &jackmcmorrow your calling the USA primitive when you just said you don't have running water? I guess you guys don't have an education system either.

  • The brazillian water at the end was the most non-brazillian water ever. Who would drink this shit? We get those around here for quite some money. Thing is, we don't have "tap water" per se, we use purifiers to get our water clean for consume. Most americans, when they are in Brazil, get sick over our filtered water because they have no imunologic system prepared for it. We live healthy lives out of filtered water, and live longer lives than americans. Who's the primitive culture now, heh?

  • @jackmcmorrow That isn't why someone gets sick drinking your water. Tropical climates with higher year-round temperatures allows certain strains of bacteria to thrive which may not survive in high amounts or at all in other climates. Your filters do nothing to strain this out. You don't get sick from it because you're constantly exposed to it. If a European or American lived in Brazil for years they would develop the same resistance.

  • @Aleksael Well... Ok, then. I was just suggesting people should get over drinking bottled water because they think it's "purified" and "healthier". We have this even around here.

  • The only reason I drink bottled water is convenience. I can carry dat shit around with me.

  • @Vinzaf You're right! Cause its fucking impossible to pour tap water in a bottle at home and carry dat shit around.

  • @Vinzaf They sell bottle filling stations now. You don't even need to pour the water into the bottle. Just pour it into the filter container and pull off a bottle.

  • There is a distinct difference between mineral water, distilled water, artesian water, glacier water and well water. Mineral water in Europe is highly regulated and as such has different (TDS) Total Dissolved Solids to the other types. Bit of a bollocks clip to be honest.

  • im actually drinkin bottled water lol..

  • Or it's because it's carbonated and plain water sucks?

  • I feel bad for the guy paying for all the fake bottled water

  • to be fair, I drink bottled water because it's convenient, not because I think it's pure...

  • @Jmaz98 Do you know what's even more convenient? A water bottle.

  • @Jmaz98

If it's so damn convenient why not just refill the bottle with tap and bring it with you? You fuckers are recking the environment with your convenience. You and the 29 jackasses who thumbed up that comment are the fucking problem.

  • @Jmaz98 dude, just get a metal bottle. nalgene or something. its a couple of bucks up front, but indefinately reusable.

  • @Jmaz98 To be faur, Fuck you and convenience, NO EXCUSE!

  • This is right, drink beer instead.

  • people who are willing to pay $8 for a bottle of water deserve to be f#cked

  • @thaoddie this might be true in the US! but here in the PI the tap water will get you sick and you can really taste the difference. sometimes even see the difference because tap water here sometimes have things floating around.
