  • I finally did it, SO the idea of that first insertion of the little screwdriver is to release the pressure that holds the slide cover in. Than the damn firing pin block shot out with the extractor and I started sweating. I guess the extractor goes in one way, but did you notice you can lock it open if you manually move it?

  • Thanks for the video. Good luck with your dad.

  • LIFE freakn SAVER...thanks Pete

  • Awesome video man. I didn't know about the function test using a pen. I actually learned something useful in this video.

    Thanks

  • wonder why glock primers seem to be torn. would like to see a firing pin closeup.

  • I can never fucking see well on 'how to' videos... I keep thinking I'm going to break my mine. And i can't even tell how the firing pin has any relation to the back plate. Nor, what the fuck I'm pushing on that releases pressure on the back plate. It always seems so easy(and it must be), but I just have no luck with it at all.... And i'm trying to install some spring cups too! Anyway, thanks for the video Pete. I'm sure others figured it out. I just need to see this be done in person.

  • @DontFuknTreadOnMe That small black thing that is visible,by metal square, you have to HOLD that down (from the front of it don't push the top of it) with a small flatblade, for this black plastic is what is under pressure and holds the slide cover on,that moves back and fourth like the firing pin ONCE you push that thing down, you hold it in the down position and slide the cover off. The extractor spring is held under pressure with the cover too

  • do you know if this is the same for all glock models? i was trying it on my 26 and it didnt seem this easy, i stopped before fucking it up.

  • You should have took the spring off the firing pin as well,Now that's a real bitch to do

  • Nice video Pete. Now can you do the same on the Sig?

  • plz make a review on GLOCK 21 sf.....big bore......i havt seen any video of G21 on ur channel

    plz

  • From 7:27 until about 7:40 it looks like an open mouth & a frowny face. Anyone else see that shit?

  • thank you Pete.

  • the firing pin assembly - it is called a striker

  • XD was pretty aggressively advertised and now it sells good - anyway it is a fine gun, surely comparable to Glock

btw. did you know it comes from Croatia

  • Thanks Pete! I was wondering how to do that with my XD wich I am sure is the same! I think your homo hands have stage fright! j/k great vid 5/5

  • cool all the other videos were to confusing this one made it simple

  • Hey Pete I look through your vids and you don't have a detailed strip for the p229 but you do have a field strip. So if you don't mind and notice it doesn't have to be the next day. And if you can maybe talk about the 3 connectors I think their called available Glock. You know that thing that changes the pounds on the trigger pull. No rush however Pete thanks man.

  • I noticed that none of your Glocks have extended slide releases.. Ever think of installing one? I've put them on all of mine, it adds a nice and more confident feel, in my opinion. David

  • @smpd357sig yes i need them. soon

  • @smpd357sig i put one in my glock 30 very nice

  • Thanks Pete, haven't taken a firing pin out in my life. Now that I know I'll give it a try.

  • @golfpro1970 your gonna be fine you'll see its easy

  • Nice Video AC. Thanks.

  • another awesome vid pete... got one question bud... now im looking at some nice strikers in the glock magazine... that firing pin that you took out is the striker and can be replaced by an aftermarket striker (firing pin)? thanks Jim

  • why would you replace it?

  • just for future reference, over years of use... just asking because its something good to know.

  • Great video Pete...payment on the way.

  • @hoseman121 thanks man

  • nice vid man, is the xd pin removal similar?

  • @uscfire51 yes it is

  • Good video...didn't realize it was that easy to take the firing pin out. I agree with your top 5, but I have a Beretta 96FS .40 cal and I can't say that I like it that much. Thanks for the video man

  • @marquette048 hey thanks dude

  • Punch sets are key.

  • @elw619 thanks buddy!!

  • Nice video! I saw a video a while back were the guy shows how to take a Glock apart without the recoil spring inside. In case someone somehow forgets to put in the recoil spring in when assembling a Glock. Now I've forgotten what to do if that would ever happen and can't find the video again. Could you make a video about that?

  • petey, i called glock this morning about generation 4, they said they went back to the straight serrations because the the fish scale ones didn't go over as well as they hoped. i wanted the scale serrations but not available on gen 4.

  • @FatMikesChannel i like the scales and i guess my guns a collector now.

    sweet. thanks mikey

  • Thanks Pete Great vid. I never knew it was that easy to get the firing pin out. Are there any upgrades you can do to the firing pin or is it ok as is? I have a sig 229 40 and am really thinking of trading for a g23 or 22 package with extra ammo to make up the price difference. I know the sig is built and machined a little better but I just feel more comfortable wiht the glock. Any advice would be appreciated.

  • Good stuff Pete.5*s.Can't go wrong with the gns you mentioned that's for sure.100 watt video.LOL!

  • @bill13442 thanks bill this might be a great week bill!!

  • Good stuff Pete !

  • @jdiddy27 glad i can help bro

  • Dude what about the sigma. Its way better then a glock. lol .

  • That was the WORST part for me when I was field stripping my gun for the first time.

  • Thanks Pete, I have never taken the firing pin outta any of my guns, it's nice to see how to do it. How often if ever do you recommend taking out the firing pin for cleaning or whatever? Sig, Glock, HK, Springfield, Colt, Baretta are all extremely high quality, reliable firearms! Can't go wrong with any of them! Thanks for the video bro! 5*****

  • @40sigsauer i do it every 1000 rds

  • Thanks Pete, I will start doing that!

  • Pete, what was the first gun you put a thousand rounds thru ?

  • @a13084u2 none lol

    cant shoot that much

  • Have you tried those Brass wristbands? They are for artritis. My father uses them and he says they work brilliantly. Nothing else ever worked for him. He doesn't take meds. Check em out, Pete.

  • @TakodaTribe ok thanks bud

  • good job,

  • @lynette1953 thanks bud

  • XDs are great guns, but I agree with your opinion on the grip safety.

  • what is the issue with the grip safety? - 1911s do have too

  • @ealnav The issue is just personal preference.

They're not typical on polymer pistols, like the XD rivals, the glocks. The XDs already have numerous other safeties (external included), so it's just a necessity thing.

They are great guns regardless and shoot like a son of a bitch. This would not stop me from buying one, I really do want and xd40.

  • @berryjs140 thanks guys

  • What MFR of recoil spring and guide rod do you use in your Glock?

  • @Xterra64 i think so. its just better man

  • Hey quick question did you notice any real difference between the factory guide rod and the steel guide rod when firing the gun??

  • @bigtxrebel yes it add a tad of weight and the gun handles better
