How come there was no bump when you hit the ground, till the end of the video I was thinking you were still flying above the ground. Not your fault but the video game programmers should have made it more realistic.
nope, its a pc only game, and if you want good graphics you need an awsome good computer. you can get FSX at best buy, but get a joystick when you buy it, because its impossibly without it, and i recomend you do the tutorials first before you do flights. Or otherwise you will have no idea what your doing.
You can't tell in this video but it's 200knots the 2 just looks like a zero, I believe a 747 stalls out around 180 to 160 knots. But remember the speed shown here is ground speed not airspeed.
Anyone knows what those lights are for at the beginning of the runway on the left, I played this game alot and never knew what they meant :< Cant get past first instructer level either, game is too hard for me I guess xD
They are glide slope lights, this is a easy way to remember what they mean...White over white your high as a kite; Red over Red you good as dead.
As you can tell I was a little high but I still managed to come down on the thousand foot marker, some might say I was too far to the right, but I live in Juneau and have seen many 737 land the same way. That just happens when you have a fully laden 747 with 60+ knot crosswinds ;)
2 white and 2 red lights means that your on the proper glide slope descent. 3 or more red lights mean your too low, and 3 or more white lights means your too high.
If its the lights are in rows, its called Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI)
good landing but u r doing the same problem as me. the nose is supposed to be straight with the runway before the nose wheels toches down so u need to apply full rudder without crashing. kinda hard but u'll get there
I was using full rudder. A matter of fact I had a Alaska Airlines pilot look at this video and he said it was done very nicely. Also you CAN adjust the rudder after the nose gear is down. Try telling a pilot here to keep the nose in a strait line when there's a 50+ knot crosswind. You can but I've flown out of here on a 737-400 and there was a 55 Knot cross wind, and it felt like the pilot was driving a slalom course :D
i always touchdown sideways 2! yeah, if theres enough crosswinds, you cant straighten the plane. btw, have u succseccfuly landed in crosswinds 110-200 knots? cause i have in an airbus a318.
also, the a318 gets pushed around like heck cause its small. lucky 4 me, when i downloaded it, it came with a full, complete, and sweet cabin. fyi, i downloaded it from either simviation dot com or flightsim dot com and on the search screen i typed in airbus cabin under FS2004 jetliners on flightsim dot com or i typed in FS2004 airbus cabin on simviation dot com. the skin is british airways.
Are you asking if you can crash? Yes you can, the worst that has happen to me is a landing gear failure from hitting the runway to hard, but I still managed to keep the aircraft from sliding off the runway;) does this answer your question?
When you came in your were about 10 meters off to the right, which has caused you to add thrust to push the plane forward and break the cross wind. This would have automatically been canceled by ATC due to off course flying. You were over the airports apron at the time which is dangerous to other planes. Luckily there weren't any other planes.
I never added any thrust, this airport "where I use to work" does not have a strait in approach, the largest aircraft that land here are 737's! If you notice the valley to the right of the runway, we get heavy winds that come out of the interior up to 90MPH! A 737 came in to this runway worse than I did, he was over the taxiway and then intercepted the runway and when they where working on the runway all aircraft landed on the taxiway. that's more dangerous than going over the apron a little:|
Also I reviewed my original video and my right wing did not go over the runway holding marker, about 10ft away from my wingtip. It was close but still in regulations. So other than that I don't see anything wrong with this landing.
ye ive taken crosswind landings all the time... and love them espeically with large aircrafts such as 747's n stuff... u did excellent on that leanding... keep it up!
stall at 127 knots 90,000 lbs + 50 passengers
135 knots 120,000 lbs + 50 passengers
stall speed will vary depending on weight all the time. Try landing on ILS at 142 knots half load but keep ur EPR high at 57%

Kris0990 5 years ago
Great landing, did you just purely use the cockpit view? because I don't think FS planes have a system to challenge crosswinds.
sakemaki 5 years ago
Yes I used the cockpit view. I believe the cockpit view is the most realistic way you can fly in a simulator.
slideordie777 5 years ago
i used to but VC is more realistic in FS X IMO
