I've seen a fair few of water spouts.. there was one near the stables i keep my horse at.. (sydney) It was interesting!! wish i was close enough to video tape it!

believe it or not, Australia is in the top 5 countries with most frequent tornados, it's just cause it happens a lot in remote areas so we dnt hear about it as much

We get heaps of Mini-tornados here in Australia. Maybe 10 - 15 every year. The Gap got a Mini-tornado just last month (Nov 08)

cyclones-smichlones lol right now it's super hot and that normally = big storms. to be honest. i've had none this year! and it's already storm season! lol but yea the worst we get is a hailstorm every now and then. i live on the north coast of nsw and right near where a tornado hit a few years back. a hailstorm that sent me to europe (long story don't ask) and a mini-flood every now and then. but seriously. if your afraid of the weather - move to the moon there's none up there lol

I live in Oklahoma and every tornado I saw was because I was storm chasing. It's not as bad as people make it out to be. Only 2 of the tornadoes I've seen have done any damage to houses or buildings. And it wasn't but 3 structures damaged from the 2 tornadoes put together. Nobody has been killed either from the tornadoes I saw. One was a storage building, and the other 2 were houses.

hey, I live in Australia, and I have been in three tornaoes, two which caused severe injury to people, one that threw cars into the air, and also picked up a large, heavy super phosphate shed.

The wa weathergroup . com has a resident expert on tornadoes. She would not have become one if there was just the odd one or two.

They are certainly an interesting weather event and seem to be misunderstood in Australia. There is more research being done thanks to people getting hooked on the weather Some of our members have come across the evidence in the wa wheat belt on chases.

The area between Perth WA and Bunbury is know as Tornado alley in the media. It gets it fair share. Busso last week and Rockingham today.
