John McLean Starliner. 2nite was the 1st time i heard it since '89 when my whole flat was cleared out whilst i was in hospital with blood poisoning, but it did take me back to being 14 in '82

Does anyone know if there is the original version anywhere? It's a lot slower and proper Lovers Rock style? I think it came out on the flip side to Throw Me Corn on a 7".

I would love to hear that one again..... I'm beginning to think I only imagined it.

@ellamdv God Bless people like you. My flat was burgled in '87 & i had a 12" called 'STAR LINER' that came out in approx '83, but i can't remember who sang it. My record collection was my pride & joy til somone took that away from me & to this day i've never heard Star Liner since. The 1st line starts with. . . . now is the time, for you to rock with me, cos we're gonna dance all night long, whilst i sing my favourite song, Do you know this song?

Do you know Carol Thompson? She was great & really popular in her day even with people who didn't like reggae
