I love this song. I used to listen to it as I was younger because it was in my mothers closet and she has a lot of classic jazz, and older music in there. This song just got in my head, so looked in her closet and popped the CD in and there it was. :D Great album!
This was the album that started it for me. Living and working in America for the first time for a working class kid from London was good enough, but then finding a wonderful American girl to date (Texas girls - no BS but still ladies, if you get what I mean!)and going to a concert with her to hear this as the first song in the Rippington's open air concert we went to. Me, her, a picnic on the grass and the Rippington's. 1991 and I was in heaven - or at least a long way from inner London!
@rg1232 Same story you hear so often. The U.S. office was closed, and it was difficult to get a new U.S. job because of the paperwork involved for employers. So had to come back home.
@godspider33 I have the Live cd as well but i personally like this first version with the singer Carl i forgot his last name, Idk i grew up listening to this back in 1989 and i was born in '86 ahh mom has great choice in music.

I love this group and this album is just awesome. With Patti Austin on back-up vocals, "I Watched Her Walk Away" has never gotten old for me after nearly 2 decades.
This song sounds like... the theme song to one of those late '80s, local morning shows! :-D
