Steve Roachs' music dives deep into worlds most other music do not even scratch the surface of. He's a true master of the power of subtelty and interdimensional association through brilliant layering of sound. This makes me feel connected, but not religiously, touched, but not in a sentimental way.
What is the meaning of life, doing the things we do day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year... Before we know it the years add up, and so much time has passed us by... As one person, I can choose only one life, one path. Billions of paths are being taken, and my life represents just one of those paths. What determines the significance of one path over another? We are all drifting through the same space, and all of our paths meet at both ends.
Steve Roach uses both synthesizers of the analoge and digital kind, multilayering (Lots and lots of thin layers), synths have slow envelopes, lush high quality reverbs. But he doesnt use just synths, he uses many non-synthetic soundsources as well. The key to get this sound is layering, more than anything. And he's a master at this! I'm guessing he's experimented alot through the years and found himself a "methodical sweetspot" of sorts to achieve this sound. You make music?
I remember so well being on the sea shore of Brittany listening to this on my MP3 player... what a fabulous moment! I just love that loud sound that moving you.. great job from Steve!
I can see the shining nebulae in the infinite distance...
What's weird is that I accidentally had this video open while "The Canyon's Embrace" from Steve Roach was also playing, and it worked all too well save for the cricket sound becoming noticeable...
This is some of Roach's darker stuff indeed. This is from "The Magnificent Void" album. Check out "Midnight Moon" album as well. There is a whole world of this type of dark ambient.
this is without a doubt the most mesmerizing and meditating music i have ever heard the pics in video just add to the effect of taking you to another world for 7 min 55 seconds keep it up
I have never been so terrified of music in my life. This is absolutely haunting, but in a chilling and beautiful way. Thanks for uploading. This is truly an extremely dark and emotinal piece of music. I love it.
I had a dream more than once, where I was being tossed around by a violent storm in the ocean. The waves threw me onto rocks then sucked me back in. I was then thrown onto a shore, by a huge wave.
Ambient music: Roach is King.

Pop, top 40, and rap/hip hop music all die by the waste side in comparison to Ambient music like this. That's my opinion at least.
I love these images you have put together. Fantastic job here.

Steve Roach's music is not so much to relax to, but to open your mind to. It is cleansing, intense, and lovely.
