  • Ritchie's aggressive passionate style of playing is one of a kind.

  • Some call Ritchie "sloppy", I call him playful.

  • Thank god Ritchie Blackmore is a good songwriter, because it makes up for his incredibly sloppy solos and technique. Joe Lynn Turner is by far the best Rainbow singer, you'd have to be deaf to say otherwise.

  • @danbb1984 That's the funniest shit i've ever heard! Ritchie's an amazing guitar player and Ronnie James Dio was an amazing singer!

  • @SJQK Ritchie is a very good rhythm guitarist, but his solos (particularly live) were sloppy at best. Dio was ok, but had nowhere near the level of tone and control over his voice that Joe Lynn Turner had (and still has). Real musicians understand this, but idiot fans like you just don't get it.

  • @danbb1984 "Sloppy at the best"?? I agree that Ritchie definitly made a lot of strange solos during his concerts, even though I strongly suspect that he's doing it on purpose. A very moody man, to say the least... :) On the other hand, when he play at his best, there is _no_one_ who can compete with him.

  • @danbb1984

Some can call it sloppy, some, like me, call it pure energy. A bit of dirt is in fact welcome - he played awesomely here. About the vocals - Turner is ok, but does not fir the band. I'll take Dio or especially Bonnet any time of day. Not everything is in how hight or low you can sing or how fast you can play flawlessly.

  • Don't know why, but that sounds a lot like malmsteen's songs... Oh, I forgot, Malmsteen is a fat cover of Ritchie!

  • Bobby Rondinelli...what a great live drummer!

  • @Julian1961 Absolutely, though Chuck Burgi was actually the drummer at the time of this concert.

  • @schenkmore0 hmmm, Burgi wasn't the drummer on the Straight Through the Eyes CD/LP.... that's the tour they were on, thus the eyes beaming into the crowd... I saw them on that tour, this was the opening song.

  • I should add that JLT is the best vocalist in rock history also. Blackmore and Turner are who made Rainbow as famous as they were! Everyone who agrees give a thumbs up!

  • Best guitarist in rock history, HANDS DOWN!

  • @mariofan4523 The best!!

  • What a great solo!

  • I didn't mean to say that he's bloated, I meant it in a healthy way. And yes, If Joe's full of himself, that's okay. Ater all, he was in a top, distinguished hard rock band of the time. And he sang very well too. I wonder how many singers would've liked to be in his pants, and who somebody, out of nowhere could've done the job better. No offence, pal ;-)

  • @TheHenkka65 It is true, Ritchie knows he kicks guitar ass and doesn't care to show it. He is full of himself, but that doesn't make his playing less enjoyable. I agree with you.

I mean where do you guys think Yngwie got that from? From one of his idols of course.

  • Uderrated guitarist!? Thats crap. One of the best guityarists ever, and he knows it himself too. I really miss his playing on that5 Rainbow era.

  • @TheHenkka65 I'd just like to say that if you say Ritchie Blackmore is full of himself, look at Joe L Turner with "spotlight kid" Cliche, snobby pop diva lines.I'm not saying its a bad song because ofcourse Ritchie's playing lead with awesome keyboards from Don.

  • @shreddingspeedqueen Actually that's David Rosenthal on keyboards on this video, though Don Airey is a fantastic keyboarist himself.

  • sounds like ALCATRAZZ's - jet to jet

  • @iusepol Nah man, Jet to Jet sounds like this...Malmsteen pretty much ripped this riff from Lord Blackmore.

  • Blackmore needs to tour as himself and re-hire either Turner or White and do a hardcore Rainbow set before he gets to be over 165 yrs old... He's getting long in the tooth here in 2011...

    MR.BILL

  • RB and JLT ... i wanna reunion Rainbow !

  • @666Vlada666 DITTTTTTTTTTTTTTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • GUOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Finyl Vinyl may be one of the greatest recordings ever. Ritchie Blackmore is a fine, underrated guitarist, and although no one can replace Ronnie James Dio, I think Joe Lynn Turner was an adequate replacement.

  • epileptic seizure at 3:24 ??? hmmmmm

  • Comment removed

  • Gillan, Dio, Bonnet I understand. I never got Turner

  • LOVE RITCHIE BLACKMORE!

  • yeah AWESOME!!!!GO RITCHIE!!come back to us like this.
