you really have to take this movie with a grain of salt, in some ways it is canon but in allot it is just bullshit garbage. I think the only thing that has ever really been added to the canon from this movie is that Jason died. They really did turn Jason into some big boogy man in this one. Before he was a sympathetic villain, in this one he is just a villain, almost as bad as Freddy Kruger.

When New Line got the rights to him that did Jason Goes To Hell and sales was increased. The last 20 minutes or less is him in New York. Big Deal. The rest looks like Speed 2 with Jason on it. By many fan of the F13 movies, Jason X comes in 2nd as being the best with The Final Chapter being number 1.

It was release after Jason X but it takes place before it. Freddy Vs. Jason was taking so long to get made that by 2000 Jason X was made to keep the series going. But the movie was intended to start out with Jason alive with his resurrection being explained in Freddy Vs. Jason whenever it was made, and it was, two years later.
