  • I have a copy of this on a "Miltone" 78 (number 504) with a brilliant cartoon label. The flip side is Groovy Blues featuring also featuring Camille Howard. Anyone know anything about the Miltone issue of this pressing? Great post, by the way, this is such an awesome tune.

  • Great piano player and horn arrangement. Thanks for this little gem.

  • Yea! Camille Howard tinkling the ivories. Thanks for the upload

  • This song was recorded in Los Angeles in 1946, The "supervisor" (they didn't call them "producers" in those days) was Art Rupe, owner of the record label, who later changed the name to Specialty Records. Jukebox Records was founded in 1944, at which time Art had his offices at 2719 West 7th Street in LA. About 12-15 years later, Specialty would hit its stride with Little Richard, Larry Williams, Lloyd Price, Guitar Slim, and many more.

  • @rocco4116 Rupe's original partner in Juke Box Records was Eli Oberstein of Victor Records...when their partnership ended, Oberstein took control of the label, but Rupe kept his master recordings and publishing rights as well
